While pirate bay was a great website for a place that you dont need a membership, the membership only torrent sites are MUCH better. The one I belong to will allow you go max out your net connection most of the time despite not having many seeds and leechers. Futhermore, there are generally more seeders on a file than leachers. That is actually kind of a problem sometimes when u need to up your ratio because everyone else is already seeding and no one will end up downloading from you.
BUT to gain membership you must get an invitation from an existing member and they have member quotas (only allow a certain number of members at any one time to be registered and active) so becoming a member is rather difficult.
and no I will not tell you what the name of this site is nor will I invite you.

Torrent is so last year, news sites is where its at! :D
news sites have been here for a while.
Some people think its the other way around that news grps r dead and torrent rules. But newsgrps just require a lil more work from the user.
i do use newsgrps as they max out my downspeed always i used ot be a heavy TPB user (also for patches and Demos) but like said by others the torrents on TPB have way to many leechers that nvr seed.
there are better torrent sites then the pirate bay but the better ones r usualy membership only and the real good ones dont allow you to becomne member unless a member invites u :( (demonoid.com ive heard is pretty good and has torrents i like wich r not easy to find but cant be a member :( )
Now see why and go and make a statement about exclusive sites, and being a member of such, that is just arrogant.

How does one find Torrent sites, because I know doign search for torrent sites doesn't realy yield good results.

Has pirating become so main stream that nobody cares about it anymore?
I know that when I code I like to be compensated. I don’t particularly appreciate others spreading information on how to acquire free software.

the whole point of torrent sites like TPB is that they don't host copyrighted material, just information on where to find it.
