I sure hope you don't plan to ship in that box. A unit of the weight and finished outside panels need substantal more protection. At the very least ,much heavery carboard and double box it .You also need to protect the corners and fill the rest in with approiate packing material.
Packing and shiping units involves much more than a thin carboard box. If you take the time to search, most major shippers give info on how to pack different depending on weight, the more a item weighs, the more protection it requires to ship safely. good luck.
Very nice work on the unit!!!!!!,I sure you want it to arrive in perfect condition.
Very nice work cold ice.
What are the loaded temps?
guys have you not noticed that this was posted back in may? thats quite a thread revival... walt i think he said that he packed it with lots of foam and stuff. also i believe that if you ship it in a palleted crate strapped down well you would be fine without much packing material.
Even if palletted on to a crate ,much more protection is needed, in shipping faciliaties space is always a premium and things get stacked on top that shouldn''t. Beleive me I been to enough shipping docks to know.
This is something OCZ may be able to elobrate on more in the future as I,m sure when they release their unit, shipping safely is a BIG concern.
Old thread with some of my old units :D
The unit was shipped in that box, but with a lots of packing foam. It arrived in perfect condition. I shipped a lot of parts and units, even cascades (on palett though), and all arrived with no damage at all, except one of many units had a broken suction line...
