still not the prefect solution cause as soon as i press update and unsuspend the network connection it upload the completed units and download many more
isn't there a way to control the number of units it download and not the number of times it connect ?
Yes....set your preferences to 1 day of work...or 2 days...or 1/2 day
I set mine to 2.0 days worth of work, that way when the server is down (like for the last 2 hours) you still have work to do and you don't waste time if you have no work.
Then when it completes a WU...it only uploads that unit....not a lot of network usage....then it will dowload 1 more to replace the completed one.
EDIT: What is it you are having problems with? to much network activity?
no tooo much units with status " Ready to run "
currently i have 139 units Ready to run
Ok....well go to your preferences (left hand side of the boinc manager when you are on the projects tab) then edit your preferences....make sure you only have 2 days worth of work set.....sounds like maybe you have 5 or 10 days now?
