wow, cool, you're working on x64 support already :) *subscribed*
i got the same error as bachus, "Failed to load low level access driver!"
hehe, my machine is at your disposal for testing ;) :toast:
WIP, 64bit lib is working. I'm out of fast internet connection so I will not check this thread often. Patience, please.
I'm sure we could find a site to host it for you if that is the issue.
No, it is not a problem with hosting. My cable provider is having problems.
ciao,
when from command line I load my config the program loses the "DQS skew mode" value (my pc is at home, but it loses the last value, increase or decrease maybe), from GUI it works instaed. Sorry for my poor englis, ciao
Nice work! Congrats! ;)
great stuff the a64info has alot of important info to display especially for DFI CFX3200-DR
was wondering if you could add displaying of memory SPD info that cpuz usually display to the blank space you have in a64info on the bottom left side
i.e.
http://www.fileshosts.com/DFI/DFI_CF...pi-32m_tnn.jpg
would be one less app i have to open to show the memory spd as well heh
Odlicno!

any updates on x64 Edition compatability?
It will take some time since it will be rewriten almost from scratch.
@Kafu ne pijem ;)
Hi,
i'am new with this little programm, and i wonder if this is a known bug with an Opteron 146 @ 10 x 300, with 166 divider? :)
http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/7682/a64info3ph.jpg
Anyway, great work for the community lukija! :toast:
Are you running x64 Editio?
I used the link from the first post, is it a wrong version? (i use windows 2000) :)
Same thing Pyr0 and I were getting in x64 Edition.
Looks like it doesn't want to work in 2000 either.
Patience please, new version with new library will solve those problems. Library is still under testing. I cannot promise when a workable verision will be released, maybe in a week or two.
No problem. Just wanted to add my support for your work on this. I'd even throw 10 bucks in a tip jar for you, if you set one up. :toast:Quote:

lukija is it possible to mod the proggie for AM2 platform you think?
the program is really good! used it since the first boot into windows i did with my new cpu! :)
no bugs found till now!
Excellent program dude! it´s being added to my list.
There should be no problems. I only need documentation. As far as I know, Systool already supports AM2.Quote:

I had dilemma is it 183.00 or 183.33 ..... (which is more "natural" for computer world). In most cases it should not make problems except for 11 multiplier. Let me explain:Quote:

183.00 : 200 ratio is 0.915
so with 11 multi , divider should be:
a) round(11 / 0.9166666666666666667)=round(12)=12
b) round(11 / 0.915)=round(12.02)=13
Until couple days ago i used b) scenario but after I saw this post
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=100
now I think it should be a) scenario.
Bottom line: no other multis are affected, only 11 with 180 divider.
Offcourse, there is problem with XP 64bit, some cores are recognised wrong, but it will be fixed thaks to your feedback and suggestions
And i was wondering why my Winbond BH6 doesn't work at 253Mhz at 300X11*183
A64 Memfreq 1.1 also calculates it the same way (wrong)
I lost 1 day testing my memory cause of that error ...:p:
Stelios, your story is just confirming the fact that divider is actually 12, you tought it was 13 and expected your memory to work @ 253MHz but it was(not) working at 275MHz.
Yes it does and that's great, keep up the good work!! :woot:Quote:

great job man!
Here is how A64Info is looking, some functionality is missing, library is not 100% finished ... Executable is siginificantly smaller (~ 250kB)
Great program

12 divider it surely is ...
- nice prog! :toast:
In a week, or so. Cannot promise. Maybe I can release some alpha version as soon as I finish basic functions :)Quote:

Ok guys, it is not yet finished version (loading and saving profiles is not implemented yet, also load at startup). But you can change stuff and it should work under 32 or 64bit Win. 180 divider is fixed (11/12), core detection (Venus vs San Diego and S754 Venice). CAS 1.5 should be detected OK. One will notice that there is slight delay after pressing Set button. I had to do it because sometimes when changing memlck in big steps (eg, from 200 to 120) it can freeze. I will explain it later, when final version arrives. Once again, this is still not finished, take care, backup your data and stuff.
yeah baby, working in x64 Edition now.
Glad to hear that because I wrote those new drivers and I/O library which lukija is using now. :cool:Quote:

Again, great job on this lukija ,but I like the look of the old version with the cpu info and ram timings all in one window. Anyone else?
I used it to tweak my new ocz 4800, great stuff, love it and thanks

Looks good, CAS 1.5 works...:)

Regarding layout, I had to split CPU and DRAM pages since there was no place to put some addtional data.
Win2k3? Hmmm, I think it is a problem with some privileges. Run gpedit.msc in Run windows and find:
Computer configuration -> Windows settings -> Security settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment -> Load and unload device drivers. There should be Administrators. If you are not Admin, then add your user name. If that doesn't help, we will have to figure out something else.

thanks but could you at least show memory speed/frequency on DRAM page as well so you can show the mem clocks with timings on one window :)Quote:

Hi.
Good work. The tool is great :toast:
but i've a question.
Because my CPU has got a coldbug i must start with 255x11. after boot into windows i upper the htt to 295x11 with clockgen. i works perfectly.
After that i start A64Info, but it still shows 255x11  Is this a Bug?
cpu-z shows the right speed (295x11):stick:
Thanks in Advance, Turrican
Yes, but it will take a lot of time to add support for various monitoring chips and stuff. Currently, I'm close to implement clock adjustment on nForce4 chipset. I hope it will be implemented in V0.6 final soon.
Good to hear :) Your tool is already awesome :woot:Quote:

I guess it is. Try to restart A64Info. Or try other programs such as CrystalCPUID to confirm it. Which version are you using?Quote:

lukija, good job )
But, the new version doesn't load under Win2003 Ent Server...And the old one (0.5) shows completely incorrect values. Is it a big problem to solve?
thanks in advance
@ruis.av
I'm aware of that issue. New version cannot load driver under W2003. Old one too, so it gets random data. Since i don't have W2003 I'm asking you to read this post:
http://xtremesystems.org/forums/show...&postcount=160
If it doesn't help, it means that driver must be rewriten to support W2003.
@Turrican
Can you post a screenshot? That would help.
ok, here we go :)Quote:

Turrican, please try this program:
http://avala.yubc.net/~lukija/clocktest.exe
To exit, just press any key. Try to change clock and watch what happens.
hmm. i always get this error, when i start the prog.
I downloaded it a few times but still no go. :(

I try to translate it correct ;)

That's great news man :)Quote:

same error also for me gyus :(
try it in 4 pc all with xp sp2
My error, compiler options :(
try this
http://avala.yubc.net/~lukija/clocktest.exe
this should work!
Just to repeat: start this program and simultaneosly change clock via clockgen and see if clockspeed changes.
hmm, now clocktest.exe works :) but still shows 2805mhz (255 HTT)Quote:

Thank you Turrican. This explains everything. I will write other method for clock measurement.
I'll be glad to help, where i can :) :toast:
OK, please try this one, it is less precise:
http://avala.yubc.net/~lukija/clocktest2.exe
I just found I have the same issue as Turrican where the change in clocks is not detected in A64Info
i had the same results with clocktest.exe, but clocktest2.exe worked perfectly and reported the change immediately
Great. I have also managed to reproduce this issue. It is related to so called performance counters under Windows. You can try CrystalCPUID, press F8 or F9 after you change clock via clockgen, see what happens.
great. this time it works :toast:Quote:

F9.....Refresh QPC (No Load)]
F8 and F9 use query performance counter functions, which have some issues. It is precise and accurate but it depends on hardware, so I find it not reliable, as it has proven. Bottom line, one mistery solved, now it is time to fix program using different techniques.Quote:

Great tool indeed. I have noticed the problem with refresh stated above only occasionally. It doesn't seem to happen all the time though which confuses me. Thanks for the great work on it and can't wait to see the new rev with clocking abilities added in :)
Yeah, Lukija, keep up the great work! I have been using your proggy from the start, so look forward to every new version...
OK guys, i will be out for a couple of days, lot of things have to be done. Thank you all for feedback.
OK, beta again, consider it still not fully tested.
http://avala.yubc.net/~lukija/A64Info-beta.exe
- some bugfixes (overclock ratio was calculated wrong, multiplier detection was wrong in some cases)
- differenet method for clock measurement, less accurate but it should be more reliable, refresh period is 2 seconds.
- loading / saving settings , this is new stuff, if it happens to work OK, I will explain how can one tweak parameters not shown by A64Info. Also I will explain how can you make preset to tweak only one parameter (or more of them) using settings file and AMD documentation (this is for hardcore overclokers ;). Here is an example:
http://avala.yubc.net/~lukija/odc.set
Load this set and it wil set Odd Divisor Correct, other parameters will not be changed.
- loading at startup is done via registry. Just load preset (you don't have to apply it, although you can) and click Add to startup. Also you can remove it. Beware, if you load preset that locks your PC, run in safe mode , run regedit and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
find key A64Info and delete it.
- CPU speed and memory speed are shown in DRAM dialog
Once again, this is beta, use it just for testing. Next thing to do is to add clock change for nF4 chipset. I think I have found something about that.
