I want to see some Aquamark3 and 3DMark01 tests, and a 3DMark05/6 just for kicks. :) But very nice to see some results finally trickle down to show us, thanks Victor!
VictorWang, can you run PC Mark05, 3dMark05, and some more benchmarks with the Conroe at 2.4?
Guys...Please post your AMD's comparo/opinion in AMD's section. Anyone with FX60 can do comparo with Victor's result and post in their own thread:toast:
if you would be so kind as to enlighten me on where i am wrong in what i posted, instead of just being plain rude.Quote:

Congrats Victor..... 21 seconds is awesome at only stock. Hope the bugs get worked out soon enough. Looks like Intel might have a real winner this time.
really bad news.
bios has some problem , I cannot add addtional PCIE vga_card or change ram to 1GB*2.
Now pi_32m running
I'll check back in 15 minutes for results. :p: :toast:Quote:

I'm crossing my fingers for you!
id have to predict that the 32M will be slightly less impressive since the chip can probably fit the whole frikin 1M test in its gigantic cache...:slobber:
nice to see these cpu's are so fast.
Does anyone lnow the predicted price range for these cpu's?
FCG said something about that he should have the right HW today 5 EST so I just supposed he got a P5WD2 board with the right bios and maybe Vic could get the bios from him ;)Quote:

How about temps? Dosn't this mobo have any sensors?
Next good thing i wanna hear is the best overclockability of this babe
Nice work Victor :toast:

All those saying AMD=dead, you keep forgetting they'll have thier .65 process in volume in Q1 2007, that is only about 3 months or so from the launch date of Conroe. I don't think they'll be able to take the lead back on performance but I'm pretty sure reduce it significantly, at the same price point vs. Intel counterparts. Things will get interesting again when K8L comes out in late 2007 for AMD, til' then they'll have to compete on price I think, which should help keep Intel prices from getting to high. Either which way it sounds like I'll be able to get a good chip for a reasonable price, go competition go!!
finally, the results everybody has been waiting for its over...
i guess XS is the first to receive the news?
Nice results on the SuperPI run! :D
What's all the fuss about Conroe for anyhow? Intel has had the better part of two years to develop new cores. There lead will last until AMD's next architecture comes out (K10?), then you'll all be spending money to switch again. LOL...
everyone knew it would pwn at SuperPi, the question most people have is overclocking and games, and it looks like we will be waiting a little longer for that to be answered.
Any chance you can lower the multi - or are you stuck with the multi?
Would love to see how far off this would be compared to the Conroe
EDIT: Just saw you earlier post - too bad you can't change multi - just like me...

wow, thanks for sharing !!!
great results.
Damn that is fast. Nice job....can't wait to see some overclocked scores!
Holy damm stock @
 VictorWang delivers! My life has literally be ruined the past 3 days waiting for Conroe results- thanks for putting me out of my misery. :p:
Let's see some 3D!
aboard pi_32m, starts sisoft.
cpu multimedia :
Nice a Merom ;) Can't you change the fsb any mike?
According to the preview from Anandtech 2.66GHz does beat FX60@2.8GHz in games and other applications.Quote:

Go ahead, I want AMD's to go down a tad anyway so I can pick more up. :pQuote:

short AMD, margin buy Intel. and then wait till AMD's 65nm come out, then do it again in reverse order.Quote:

The large L2 cache should have a fair amount responsibility of the performance leap in 1MsQuote:

incorrect, the 900 series has split L2 chache, so SuperPi only gets 2MB, on Conroe it gets all 4MB, or twice as much as any other CPU to date.Quote:

315$ is the price of this chip :slobber:
so, now that 3 people have these chips we need a Conore overclocking competition thread!!
We'll see if the Asus P5DWG2-WS can handle the Conroe soon....
4050 is the max for 9x @ 450fsb :(

Looks like you might have corupted OS. I sujest a clean install. Did you just drop the cpu in into the sys that already had OS wiyh other Cpu? I remember Dothan killing my old OS, it had same effect as yours at idle my cpu load would show 20-30%Quote:

Maybe we'll see 600fsb eventually.
Any idea how much the fsb on the new generation of intel mobos will go to? eg, on my DFI nF4, you can select upto 450 MHz, but doubt it'll go much over 400....
Hopefully atleast 450 MHz can be done stably :)
FSB needs to go to AT LEAST 333 for stock 1333Mhz XE Conroes. I think we will see in the 600Mhz range (maybe even more). Think 2.4Ghz FSB or higher. :)

Great news keep the intel coming.
howabout if you think about it % wise rather that absolute mhz wise? Eg, most NF4 mobos will go around 280 Mhz = 40% increase over stock, and the best ones will do 350 MHz = 75% increase.
So theoretically, most will do ~370 FSB with the best ones doing maybe 450 MHz if you consider % increases.
No evidence, but just a thought that i had :)
Hopefully Victor, FUGGER or FCG will be able to confirm this once they try other mobos :)
*wants to see 666fsb speeds!
Aslo i nearly shat myself when i saw <<<<< What i made my new sig.
cant freaking wait for these to be availiable retail.
If 21seconds comes this easily, any guesses what a Conroe at 3GHz will do?
16seconds? 15?:slobber:
Comeon FCG give us some reports on the P5WDG2-WS + Conroe booting.
my guess would be 15-16Quote:

That's nothing I posted before that I saw an intel slide (photos of it) of a Conroe doing a Super PI in 17.xx secs. I couldn't see which version of conroe it was. I assumed it must have been the XE model.Quote:

Dont quote me on this, but i reckon ~13 secs should be doable on air ;)
I don't know, that would require a 54% increase over 2.4GHz, maybe add 100-200MHz since it's MHz:pi times aren't linear, that would be >3.6GHz on air cooling
Maybe it's possible though, who knows :)
