LOL I was a DPC back in TSC days :)
I even had The logo on my MSN for days on end :) Infected quite a few comps with TSC but I soon left for Xs and D2OL :)
And guys, we'll see when the initial buffer dump of DPC calms down ok? (we all KNOW your gonna dump your buffers come April 1st so..
Jose... it may seem like we have smaller numbers, but you must realise that a lot of the individual teams on XS are sub teams with many members, and some of the members themselves have multiple machines, so number of members as an absolute figure is not a good comparison. Hoever, what may shed light on things is the CHANGE in number of users on the cows. Several people may join up with sub teams here on XS and the numbers of 'teams' still stay the same. :woot:Quote:

Yes, and if XS would loose their biggest cruncher it would loose a third of the RAC/production (with no. 1+2 ± 42% ?).Quote:

As for you : According to my info we have no more than 518 members with 33.05 + credits.
I'm one of the smaller crunchers. Any idea when you think you can get me ?
XS child. ...
This just proves that some people in DPC are just utter kiddies...
Sorry to say but i'm a 19 year old male with that appears to be more grownup then you.
Now shall we settle this on the virtual Crunching Battleground
Heres a little quote for all you DPC cows/guys (whatever you call yourself)...;)

Come April no more doubts will excist and as said before, I welcome the Challenge of DPC :)
The scientifical community will benefit and the race/fight is always fun :)
Every time things like this happen teams come closer and closer together. hopefully it'll be the same this time around :) And seeing as some DPC members are VERY nice people, i don't think that'll be a problem.
Cheers all (off to take a shower now and go cram for my JAVA exam tomorrow )

I don't xpect a dump on the 1st of april. That is strictly forbiddin during a stampede, wich will have begun then.
If there is going to be a dump it will be on the 31st, people dumping their WU's to start clean with the stampede.
Remember this is not souly a cruisade against XS, this is about DPC teams competing with each other, and secondly to move up the overall ladder ofcourse :)
excuse grammatical errors please
If that is what you like to think :)Quote:

Most members at DPC enjoy a bit of competition with other teams and most of the talk is meant good-natured. Sometimes it happens though, things are said about us that are just not true, either because of ignorance, or misinterpretation and then it can happen that DPC members can become even aggressive. Please remember that nearly all of us are from either The Netherlands, or Belgium, and our native language is NOT English. Besides that, we're very proud at what we do and nearly (there are always a few 'rotten apples') all of us want to be fair with DC. No cheating and stuff like that.Quote:

I know bubbles and because I was correcting geintje on his english is just cuz I was fooling around with him :)
Put the pressure on you know :p: don't worry if I really took it offensive you'd all know :p:
I am also interested in what your output will be during your stampede, but to be honest, it doesnt matter how much more you will be producing. We are still increasing our rac and thats not only for 31days. Sooner or later we will catch you up.
Resistance is futile ;)
And about us being more vulnerable: If the barages we Germans build have a failfunction, the whole Netherlands will become Atlantis II :P

If XS really needs it, I'm sure there are a few around here that will get even more comps. I got 2 comps that are runnin F@H, and will change them IF WE REALLY NEED IT!
We will never lose our No. 1 ( No. 2 overall in Rosetta ) cruncher. Matter of fact, don't piss him off too much. He may just throw another 100 or so machines into the fire. Read his sig.
You guys may have your fun, perhaps. Maybe. But unless you want to stick around for the long haul, we will grind you down. Utterly, and ruthlessly. Our daily will keep going up and will not let up. Trust that.

I think we should put in the Setting Up R@H thread how to set-up the Free-DC Statstool
1. You have to register for the Free-DC forums. Here
2. You have to go to the Statstool Config page. Here
3. Then you have to put your User ID in each of the boxes that you want stats for. You find out your user ID by clicking on your name in the Free-DC stats. the number or name that's at the end of the web address when it's showing your stats is what your user id is.
4. Make sure you have "Create static image" at the bottom checked. It'll generate an image at the top. If you're using Firefox, right click and "Copy image location"
5. Then come here, click User CP at the top, Edit Signature, and paste the link location into your sig with "" tags around it.
EDIT: Dang-it , had to go and beat me with an easy little link, didn't ya. :p:
Serious guys, i think team XS is in big, big trouble. You have absolutely no idea what's gonna happen, and when you do see what's goïng on, it's already to late.

Each has their pitfalls, but overall I think you would like the DH800. DH800 can run up to about 235-ish fsb before crapping out, but it has EMT64 support. PC-DL can go to 245-ish fsb but no EMT64 support.

I can see XS breaking 300,000 Daily eventually. Even if you put out loads in a stampede, its only going to inspire more XS to crunch for us, making us stronger. Do your worst, i want to see big numbers.
hehe, it's funny cuz while they're ramping up production for a few days, we're ramping it up permanently ;)
this is so funny, you guys just dont have any idea, and the funniest: we do know what's going on :D

I can't help but chuckle at the sweet irony of DPC's past statements regarding D2OL not being a "real" project only to see that you now are cheering that you've taken the lead there.
Unfortunately, if you go up one link from the current D2OL stats, you would find what happens when we actually run a project. :) I do believe our lead in D2OL was just under 1 million points at the time it all ended, even with ICA_Cows magical "600+ Pentium 4's". ROFL.
Have a nice day now. :)
Well don't exactly know wich stats you are referring to? Rosetta?Quote:

But as i am sure that some members of DPC stated D2OL to be dead, i am sure that not everybody of XS thinks it is dead, and neither do the whole of DPC. Otherwise, why would they crunch. Therefore some people care :)
Well, one link up from the D2OL stats would be the D2OL Final Stats. ;)Quote:

I think we did quite good, we didn't give an a$$ about d2ol and still DPC has to work to overtake us :p
Now we do R@H and they have to work even harder to make an impression.
here is to all: :toast:
As if you do not have to work hard to catch us ?Quote:

I am not judging that, quite the opposite, but i think you are working just as hard as we do :)
And saying 'we' ( XS? ) don't gove an a$$ abou D2OL is rather ... rude to the people cruncing there for you ( XS ) isn't it?
I was rude yes but it's the truth, we gave up on D²OL a while ago...Quote:

If I read your forum correctly you guys think your THE MAN because you caught us in D²OL while we are working hard for R@H and you can't say we HAD a hard time catching you guys in R@H because we were doing double the output you guys DID. And yes we allready heard a lot of times that you guys do more projects than us, every team plays the game different...
Well it's always nice if you take 1st overall, just because you gave the project up, what is funny, since there are still enough people crunching there, doens't mean a team can't enjoy there performance.
FYI there was 1 subteam that flushed, and ofcourse they are happy that it was a succes. They also flushed significantly in an other project, TSC, and are also happy about that outcome.
As far as R@H is concerned. Let's just wait what April brings us :)
And finally in defence of DPC, and then i'll quit it :p: , it would not be very difficult to let all other projects go and crunch only Rosetta, and make it to the top. I think we enjoy it to be represented in lots of projects, and do what we can on all of them :)
Ofcourse it's easier to get a really big output when nearly all of you are doing just one project. Besides R@H, DPC is doing about 8 other projects as well, and doing quite well, I might add... I would really wonder how much power we could generate if all of DPC would focus on just one single project.
And the same argument comes flying through the house again :)
First off, jeffrey, relax dude, mellow... wanna go bowling tonight with us? :p:
Secondly, That is DPC's power and weakness.
You guys CAN NOT, NEVER EVER, NO WAY HOSE, NOT IN A MILLION YEARS switch everyone over to Rosetta, why? a lot of DPC'rs hearts ly somewhere else then with rosetta (folding at home? RC54, SETI back in the days..)
so NO WAY you could ever get those people switched. and because we are still crunching, a lot of comps have become unavailable to install rosetta on so they still crunch away into the nightly hours for D2OL. got a rig also which I can't get on no more crunching D2OL.... tough :p:
But the sheer power of XS lies in the fact that we can steamroll a project, make a massive lead, and then just hop to another project :)
If we overtake Nr 1 today, we just keep the pace up for like 2 months, leave some comps behind and switch to another project (most likly also a BOINC project)
and if our leadership is being attacked, we switch back and voila :)
Consider us the Borg, we steamroll something, leave some borg behind to finish the job and move along to assimilate some others :)
Well i think something can be said for both methods. Ofcourse it is nice to take 1st place. And if that is your main goals, than go for it.
If you are more true to the project itself, and want to make an effort for that project, and not only for the stats, DPC is where you wanna be.
It's just a matter of priority's :)
:D this is great entertainment and i hope you DPC guys do have a killer ouput because i'll still be impressed if its over 500,000 a day even from a rival team.
Either way this will most importantly aid the project overall and it will only provoke us to up our game just to beat you again. So do your worst :p:
p.s. can you tell me the time the stampede is going to start in GMT as i don't want to miss it. :toast:
Feels like a warm-up here for a WWF match :D (W/o the violence  ) More entertaining too since we all get to participate.
Let's just hope we don't break too much in Rosetta w/ our 'fun'
In 10 years who will remember this (except maybe if we help save someone w/ the research :D ). All part of the fun.
:toast: to ALL! :woot:
