Well anyway I hope most of you are happy as stephen which has been more than helpful and gone beyond and above what most members have contributed to this forum No longer wishes to be a part of XS.

I for one would take one valuable contributing member of this community over 10 non contributing information leaches.........

over 3000 chips eh? thats alot of chips. that would be 2.7 chips per day (chips per day rounded down, and rounded up to 3 years.)


i would like to know how you managed to thouroughly test almost 3 chips a day, every day, for three years (assuming from release of a64). and if its been less time. then that is more chips per day. interesting.:fact:

sorry not everyone has the money to buy high end gear and post on new chips all the time.

Wow you either can't read or can't comprehend. The chips are here on this very forum. the results are here on this very forum. And beyond that I weighed my calculation table according to the users experience. For instance I would weigh OPB's results as 100% where as a user with 10 posts i've never heard of that talked like he knew not what he was doing would get weighed in at 50-75%

After that I also have my own arsenal of hardware to test the conflicts of the theory................. And once the theory was somewhat a guideline I already stated I bought a chip in those parameters and tested it and showed proof...........

I always welcomed reading Stephen's posts as they were informative and to the point, unlike a large portion of the turpitudinem that is launched upon my eyes when scrolling through threads looking for some useful tidbit of knowledge which would further my understanding of this black art known as overclocking.

First impressions are very important, you don't EVER get a second chance at one.
While I may have been wrong about my homey up there, my opinion was based on my impression from his name, his avatar, his sig, and his posts. You say these effects are more pronounced by supercooling. How did you deduce this from all the CPU's here? Most are on water or air so the effects would be less. Have you decided that the difference is still noticable at "room temperatures" but to a lesser extent?

Yes its is noticable to a lesser extent. Just need to look for users and how far they can go on air water/ stock voltage with n chips versus t.

Basically it boils down to if you want to use less volts the N chip is better.

Oh one other thing. The first week thing seems odd. 0501 0601, etc. While I don't doubt your data I can see no logic behind this one. AMD isn't going to sit on inventory accumulating good chips. In fact I work in the industry and if a K8 cycle time is 45days or so then you start making those chips in Oct, Nov. Usually when the most mistakes happen, everyone is thinking about the holiday, short staffed, pushing wafers through just to hurry home. I find this one interesting, or at least trying to find some logical reason as to why or if has just been chance the last 2 years.

I think it may have to do with recalibrating the fab equipment every so often and as far as the day of the week code i would tend to think XPMW would be possibly friday where everyone is in a hurry just to go home for the weekend and speed binning doesnt get done as thorough.......

No your absolutely correct. The cpu's he gets aren't the only reason that makes him invaluable. His knowledge is also invaluable. I just merely stated one reason although there are many and at the time of typing I was kinda irked. I think you can understand that. Btw you missed this post by me.
