its an ihs from an other cpu ;) so i keep it :P
count me in
meyt2600es will be soon here i hope and my brand new ln2 containers will arrive in 2 weeks.
So P4/Celeron IHS fits perfectly?
Anyone knows if A64 IHS fits?
i think its to big.. coz the pcb is much larger on a a64Quote:

Sure it will.. the ihs only rests onto the core.. you silicone or glue etc will be between the ihs and pcb... so no matter what core :D you can use all ihs'es from the 478 core based chips!Quote:

Dothan / Yonah has the same sizes than a PIV / Celeron.
I tried a PIV IHS on a Dothan and it worked perfectly.;)
Regards.:toast:
And do you make it stay on there forever? Like glueing it or something like that? Thermal adhessive? Or just some thermal paste like AS5 or some of that white stuff?
I put there arctic ceramique, and the container did the rest :D
Arctic ceramique.. and on the ihs--->pcb i use Black silicone kit :)
I can remove it as i will on the same way you remove an ihs from a a64 or so :)
For DICE/LN2 better creamique on core and silicone to hold ihs :)
Now, I have to find dead P4/celeron somewhere
This is what i use to "glue" the ihs onto the pcb like the same way intel and amd use:

Only mine is black..
I use car windscreen sealantQuote:

The best thing is for some peeps that have an access to ASI or Ingram's stock availability to help check it:)
Probly a group buy with Aopen possible?

I just "accidentally" stumbled into this thread. So the competition here is to see who gets a mobo first? :p:
Can you get this mobo?Quote:

Well mayb handy to clear this:

1: ?
2: Wafer?
3: Core number?
4: sSpec#
5: LF = OEM/Tray and BX = Boxed
I think i dont have 1 right :P
btw can I play?
I've got a T2500ES.....
I'm with you on this one. I keep checking over here to see if I might have really messed up when ZZF had them so cheap. I have never had Intel so was a little hesitant. On page 6 and still no benches, kind of glad I didn't get one as I hate waiting for anything.Quote:

soooo these motherboard will also support future Socket 479 chips i gather......
The same feeling...... like having an FX62, but no DFI mobo to run it:)Quote:

Well, if the competition is who is going to get the mobo first, then I guess FUGGER won because of the Mac Mini =), and I get to be 2nd, coz I have one running as well =)...Quote:

QKHK was made after QHJJ, who knows which one will overclock better, but they will probably overclock differently.
QHJJ=530
QKHK=542
I think people will see very awesome results. All i know is the second ingram micro has some in stock... i will have some on my way. I am putting a LOT of faith into yonah.
crappy laptop MBs don't count :p:Quote:

My vote is going on the on trio from Greece :D Im sure that hipro will mod everything he can to get the Yonah running sweetly...
Saying that though, you cant count out the guys from Japan. Boy do they know thier Intel's :slobber:
On a little side note, I hope we can see something from the Fins. No mention of them in here. Probably keeping it quite that they have some Yonah's on thier desk with a few Aopen mobo's. Would'nt suprise me. Watch out for macci, The Stilt and Sampsa...
me and you can play together :toast:Quote:

well.... some one allready know more about ecs motherboards?...
I bet there will be much better board in 2-3 months and 2-3x cheaper :D And aopen will fly into recyle bin :p: :slapass:Quote:

Maybe a BIOS Mod could do this too.
why are these ES CPUs multiplier locked  WTF is that about
ES cpus have always only a range of multis available - the highest the being the default multi to achieve stock spec clock. It's only the down multis that you get extra. Only EE cpus are all openQuote:

I just tried higher multis 'cause they seem to clock higher with lower multis (chipset problem) and found the sweet spot to be 15-17, 14 would work good after an upgrade of the northbridge cooler.Quote:

ECS seems more enthusiastic with their P23 than Aopen.
I hope they will release some samples for us soon:)
@ dumo :D nice a sl8..
And yes... ECS willl be better i think ;)
Is there already a release date for PF23?
I have ordered Aopen because it's the first one on the Market here.
But I think I also throw a look on ECS.
ECS PF23 will be available (in US) end of March....Sample probly earlier:toast:
Get ready guys:)
Mine arrived today...:toast:
Thanks FCG...:D
All those getting ECS should contact the company...this'll be the first time this number of ocers will all attempt WRs on their motherboards ;)Quote:

is shipped so should be arrive here soon.
Got a modded R507a cooler here so this would be a nice setup :p
It will be ......ECS VS. Aopen MoDT(mobile on desktop) war:D
I hope we can get an XS group buy for either one. I will keep you guys posted.
If anybody have info please share:toast:
Man, all of these T2600s and no mobo yet.....it worse than DFI Nforce4 back in Feb '05..
Asus should have a ATX motherboard targeted for enthusiast. As far as I know it should be placed on the other side of their mATX 945 at Cebit. The ATX motherboard should be with 975X.
Why does noone talk about this board? is should have been public for everyone at Cebit.
I told Waus about this board a few weeks ago - I bet he's workin on getting one for review still :p:Quote:

It was a 945G I think :S
EDIT: The Asus... ^^
DFI: No comments... - But I hope your right, I've heard quite a bit of different things...
I haven't seen the motherboard myself, but got told it was without a northbridge heatsink and the chip said 975X...Quote:

you should update your database in the sig....with yonahs and meroms :)
btw guys did any of you see what mikeguava is about to get      forget Yonah he's getting the next gen
besides superpi what makes yonah better to dual core AMD again? they seem to be slower clock for clock with AMD 1MB cache equivalent right?

Here in Akiba/Japan, it's expected that MSI's "945GT Speedster Plus" will be released
in next week...on 23th or so.
Release date/Availabltity of AOpen's i975mb is not clear...:(
Maybe you have allready seen, what is possible:
T2600 3 GHz @ Aopen i975Xa: 1M 19,953 s
I think, a new age starts at SuperPi...:slobber:
Hope to get the AOpen next week, but I have only a T2400 (up to now)...
They used a 166FSB and probably a crappy chipset, and crap mem (remember crap DDR2 is really crap).Quote:

i read somewhere that motherboards themselves were cold bugging
I find 5-2-2 @ DDR1000 much faster [that's what my 2 gigs do] (whether it can do that depends on the revision, they'll do 5-2-2, 4-4-4, 5-3-2 or 5-3-3 depending on the revision [maybe other settings but those are the only I've seen] @ the DDR1000 level).Quote:

There seem to a lot difference between the Micron D9 fat body based memory. I've seen Corsair UL's, Mushkin XP's and the first OCZ EB's. They all seem to do 355-366MHz CAS3-2-2 @ 2,3v. The Corsair PC8000UL's I had did 480MHz CAS4-2-3-8 @2,3v (memtested for a lot of hours without error).Quote:

I'm not sure, but that's the picture I got with the results I've seen untill now.

There's some dude in the bandwidth section who made 400MHz 3-2-2 @ 2.4V or so...amazing!
In 4-2-3-8, which is the tRCD and which is tRP?
Actually, I have never tested my 2nd pair alone...they may be better than my first, my first wouldn't do stock speeds of 3-2-2 @ 337MHz @ 2.1V, it needed at least 2.15V to do that.
I'll try them alone when my new mobo arrives.
Dfi = 945 chipset same as asus. I really dont think the "normal" makers for enthousaist is gonna build a 975 chipset for core duo, coz this market is to small!
Thats why i think aopen and ecs are grabbing there change (and i like it).
