ECS PF23. Supposedly an enthusiast yonah board, but I don't know what to think. I mean..it's ECS.

Even Miss Zoe from Aopen Taiwan sales dept. said the same thing.....Well we're all waiting.
Kinda like days before DFI Nforce4 been released.....Feb. last year...dejavu.
They are cheap....As long as it can OC and OC well who cares.... I have and OLD AMD system running with an ECS board that still going.....Quote:

I got to get some DDR2 now... hum... what to get! Ill miss my 2-2-2-5 timings :(
Atleast I will have 20 Yonah ES's waiting when mobo's arrive. I hate the waiting game.
That ECS will do the job I think. It'll be less expensive as the Aopen I think. The other ECS extreme boards costed only about 160€ here :)
dw 3-2-2-4 @ higher clocks is better :)Quote:

This is what im buying on friday... what ya think? onlything I can think of thats missing is the motherboard and heatsink
If you know where I can get it cheaper on the net all at the same site send a pm...
https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion...le=Yonah+Setup
I would wait with everything, especially the VGA, the 7900GT will appear about these days and the 7800GT will go for cheap or you want to buy a 7900GT ! Also a HD and DVD writver maybe usefull. But why don't wait for the motherboards to arrive and then see if the ECS or Aopen or the i945 boards (which i think ain't, i945 just can't clock with it's stupid locks ) better.Quote:

I am guessing that the ECS will be better, just a strange hunch.
Me too, because the Extreme ECS series are for enthousiast and the ECS will be cheaper too I think :)Quote:

At least for i975Xa-YDG in US......Could some peep with ASI/Ingram Micro access check availability of this mobo by next week?
Seems like it will be difficult to get it from e-tailer (newegg etc.):(
Tested solo and duo on 915GME and my developer Dothan board. No boot on both boards.
The Dothan board is not an Intel chipset.
I also have an SIS chipset to try next.

Make some noise, ECS is viewing watching this thread and the Yonah competition and I want them to know how hot this board can be.

- All tests with such equiptment, with same brand mobo as due to first availible, hell, that would be one heck of a PR stunt, especially for a company such as ECS, known for not very great overclocking abilities, it would be a major breakthrough...
EDIT: Not only would it change ECS's image, it would increase Intel sales as well, but thats besides the point... (not all people know the true power of yonah...)
EDIT2: Just in case some ECS technician should read this thread, would be quite neat if layout could be changed... - a 5mm increase between mem sokkels, would be better for moving heat away from mem, not that DDR2 makes much heat, but still, it shouldnt be a problem, and might give that last something, also, some DDR2 takes advantage of a bit vdimm, so no limit to 2.2v, allow up to 3.2 and let people fry their mem if they want to, while others can use 2.7-2.9v on their 5400UL's...
They could also give us a more manly board....Purple is kinda :eleph: and the 'extreme' SB sink is a knee slapper too ;)Quote:

come on ECS
Very nice charles I bet ECS will get a huge bump in sales if XS's top clockers preview their mobo's. Everyone will see how well it does and wanna get one:)Quote:

njkid32, indeed, but not only XS users, if the top clockers in that thread get their hands on such items, it'll be all over the web the results... We're talking bigtime... XS especially ofcause, but also forums in Denmark, Japan, Netherlands, Greece, and all the other contries where the clockers live, the "national" forums.. :)
I'm awaiting posting results on a danish forum, tweak.dk :)
- And this aint because its AOpen,ECS or whatever, its because its YONAH, a new core with great protential, which ofcause a motherboard manufacture would have great interess in making best board for, and this is the time for showing the worth...
i hate the wait game. Fugger, sign me up for a board :). I got too many yonah, no board to test on. I feel like it is such a waste putting a T2600ES in my Dell E1705 lol.
Im really curious how T2500 compares to T2600.
:D my friend just got DDR2 booster by Geil
http://pic.kj.idv.tw/GeIL-ddrII/geil-p-01.jpg
ajust 1.8v-3.0V:banana:
If ECS would contact there colleagues here in holland about it :cheer: so i hope to get a board soon.
Hicookie
Those look very thick so that you cannot install four dimms. Cool looking design though. looks like lots of resistors along the connector edge.
ya,4dimm must mod vdimm vol..:(Quote:

I also would like to know. With that information we know what to expect
sure there is a thread here someware with that ocz ram.
you connect the ram direct to a floppy power connector the copper heatpipe is for the vrm's will post the thread when i find it again.
edit :found it http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30194
Clever move, Fugger. Could ECS be finding an enthusiast niche? They seem to be willing to bravely go where none have gone before.
Let's not forget who posted the ECS board info here first?
i did a quick comparison image, Dothan vs Yonah pinoutsQuote:

Greetings to all,
I am fan of MSI VGA cards. I don’t know much about MSI motherboards. I am sure that the following is OK for general use. For overclocking you will tell.
MSI 945GT Speedster Plus:
http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/896...erplus29ou.jpg
lol @ 2 attachable PCI slots. Yes, 945 are crap for OC
In Germany boards will be availble on 22-03-06 at Atelco.de.
Order the Aopen, or go for another one ?
my exprience.......msi not good at intel base overclocking...
I ordered one, but still hope to get the PF23 soon ;)Quote:

Tomorrow I drop in a new chip. CPUID doesnt even start on this mobo.

a simple question: in a aopen i975xa-ydg will work the old pentium m (dothan) or only the core solo/duo? thx
No, Yonah and Dothan are not pin compatable.
They are made so if the mistake is made in the wrong socket the CPU will not fire up and no harm will come to the CPU by design.
I have tested both directions
thx
would an adapter be possible (like what asus made for 865/875), or does yonah not support the 865/875?Quote:

Yeah but why would ya wanna run Yonah on 3 year old board? :P Sure 875P was good, but...Quote:
