hi guys first post here.
compared to you guys im kinda a beginner at oc-ing
i recently got myself a 930 and i cant get it higher than 245x15 on air.
245 is perfectly stable and 246 is no boot, thats why i think it's wierd.
i tried upping vcore up to 1.4v but no result. Any suggestions here?
temp idle at 3.7Ghz is 35C
i also have problems with the memory (corsair ddr2 5400) at what values should i set it in bios?
(when i set it to 667 cpu-z shows a speed of 166mhz / everything above 800 in bios is no boot,
is my memory not good or am i missing something.
i see all you guys can go above 4Ghz, and im stuck at 3.7 do i have a bad chip or maybe it's the mobo?
i have the asus nforce4 intel edition (bad choice maybe?)
We need more rig specs, such as mobo, psu, etc.Quote:

mb: asus P5ND2-SLI / cooler: zalman CNPS9500
that's it
What do you have your ram voltage set at?
in bios it's set at 'auto' guess that's 2.0v ? do you think maybe the psu is causing it? my 12v line is 11.7, it's kinda low but stable.
autos prolly 1.8... Also, you should get a new PSU. Thats pretty low, also, i dunno if a 400W is gonna be enough to push a dual core and high end vid card, and whatever else you may have. especially when you OC.
got my 940 today . im a happy man :D 250 fsb out of the box under ls .auto volt . primed a while x2 . nicle . set vcore 1,325 and 280 fsb . ran pcmark 05 without problems . pics will come later this week . had to go to work
looking good so far .
Just so you know, you can now publish your orb links.
Hi all, I'm looking for an equilavence for a 630 and a Winni 3000+ @ 3 ghz.

Finally got around to running a 32M SPi on my 661....it does VERY well on this bench ;) The settings for this are a tad slower than I use for 1M (23.313s), but if I can get it to match, it will be SO close to making a 19m xxx pull. I'll keep working on it.
Sorry the bottom is cut off, I forgot to pull the window open taller before I started it :(

Iluv, yes 2.45V.
PcCI, if it's anything like mine, you'll love it ;) I've seen some 641s getting close to the 5GHz on air mark (suicides), so all CMs may be very strong clockers. Mine did 5GHz stable on water/5.2GHz suicide @ 1.55Vc That's a nice time for the 930.
Unseen, that's awesome. I am sure there's a bunch of Vc behind that ;) I stopped at 1.50Vc actual and couldn't even get 5GHz on phase out of mine 930 :( I am a little more giving with the Vc on the 661 and it pays off. I am giving some serious thought to picking up a 920 just to redeem myself for the lack of Vc on 930 ;) Nice clock!
To everyone, are all you OC from BIOS, from windows, or a combination of both??

sorry but i forgot to take a validation... I am on water again now...
Well valid link isn't necessary so I can add it as WR congrats, cooling? Single Stage?
Here's my Presly @ 4.5GHz cooled by some cruddy Zalman air thing - friggin 35C ambient here in Sydney - last night was cold though :D.
CPU was 4C colder (from 60C to 56C :P) last night at equal clocks, gave me 200MHz.
It's 1M PI stable up to 4.6 but seemed to have lost my screeny of that - will make another if tonight is as cold as last night.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=66001
Only the CPU clock is accurate on that - the multi is like at 23 or something and the FSB lower appropriately, and thus the ram lower as well (nah I don't have DDR1250 3-2-2-4 capable sticks :( :P)
There's like some national shortage of tubing for my watercooling stuff down here in Aus :( :P)

edited/ sorry my mistake... just saw that that bench done was at stock speeds ;)
anyone know how i could get my voltage to show up on cpuz?
Im using the latest version
On water 4.85-5.00GHz was a problem. 5GHz took 1.55Vc to be stable and I have a feeling it would be even happier with more :)Quote:
boostedevo, did you come up against a wall with Vcore on 661 when getting maximum stable O/C ? if so what was it ?
On phase, 5.3GHz really seems to be the next one. It's completed PCMark04 @ 5.4GHz with 1.55Vc, but again, I get the distinct impression, it would like some more juice there. I've tried as high as 1.60Vc and still cannot get it to pass a PCMark04 any higher than that though...capacity may be coming into play as well at that Vc/clock level...
It will run SPi 1M almost at 5.6GHz, but 32M is more like in the 5.4GHz range like PCMark04.
I have a screen shot at 5858MHz and got it in just in time before it crashed, LOL. Maybe with some better cooling or more Vc it would hit the 6GHz mark and/or bench higher, but I have not tried more than 1.62Vc (actual) for anything other than that suicide shot...
OK, boostedevo... very interesting !
My poor little 630 has to have 1.60 Vcore to run @ 4.3ghz with Crystalmark 0.9.117 and 3Dmark01, 03, 05 cpu tests. It does'nt like anything above 4.27 for PCmark04 unless I turn off HT.
However these are only early days with high end off-the-shelf water cooling for me... :)
Keep up the good O/C's ! ;)

That's actually a pretty good clock for a 630 on water...I am surprised that it's even stable enough for benches at 4.3, so it's doing well. I tried a 630 once and didn't have a lot of luck with it at all...Quote:

@leejsmith,
I would not be caught dead benching or running everest with all that stuff running in the background. Your windows taskmanager reports 31 processes running.
chill it's just my 24/7 everyday setup if i was benching i would have a tweaked os with minimal services running and no antivirus ect.

I was going to wait until EIST/LockFree was possibly reinstalled in them, but I ordered a 930 after a guy on another forum just received his and had it going @ 5GHz on cold air...just pushed me to do it. This new 930 I got today is a 10000x better than the first one I got. I need to fix my droop, but I should be able to bench this thing at the same clocks as the 661(!) IF the single stage will handle it. I've got PLENTY of Vc left for 5.3GHz+, but I have to get rid of the droop on load or I'll need to set it artificially high to make up for it (which I don't want to do).
It's an OEM, so no pack date. Malay proc and I got it from TigerDirect.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...930-2/5181.gif
I am doing some EASY 4950MHz 3D benches tonight (set for 1.525Vc, 1.45-1.46V actual on load) and it's just crushing my 661 scores....stable as hell. My first 930 wouldn't bench 4.5GHz @ 1.50V and wouldn't go over 4.65GHz AT ALL without crashing inside of 30 seconds....this new one is just amazing by comparison...
That is absolutely bloody amazing mate ! You are most certainly one lucky user !! :DQuote:

Yeah, it's definitely luck. I was going to hold out and wait for EIST/LockFree before getting another Presler too, but another guy ordered a retail 930 from Tiger and was doing 5GHz on air (Scythe, REAL cold amb tho), so that "forced" me to risk it ;) Either lightning struck twice or they are getting towards their stock with better binnings :)
