Congratz vince, you took Amd to the next level.
Ready to introduce FX60
GG!
;)
:toast: Excellent work there, hat's off to anyone using ln2 with FX-57's ..sounds like hard work. Hopefully you can get it sorted on the best partition and knock that remaining tenth or so off.
Regards
Andy

thanx alot! 4ghz benching is definitely crazy.
IHS is still on the chip, and the OS can always get tighter some. 20.** is within reach.
Not only the os...Quote:

Don't ask me how to do it but i'm sure there are people in here that already used it ;)
Great result man. Very nice
Tweak OS and give a kicking ass record :D
nice result :toast:
AWESOME result there kIngpIn:slobber: :toast:
That's awesome! Congrats
It's NOT the chip that does the job!.....It's its owner.....If this chip was into a newby guy, I think it would be wasted......;)Quote:

Excellent :toast: What is the next step, 32M @ 4Ghz? :p:
And the opposite, bad chips in good hands won't lead to great resultsQuote:

Sincere congratulations you are one of a very few that can do this :D
This almost close the single core AMD achievemts ..now on to dual core ;)
Congrats k|ngp|n but where is the 2M and 4M ? ;)

outstanding benches and clocks.
I haven't seen a suicide - you're not interested in or still trying a magic number or did I missed it?
Great one that's awesome mate :toast:
How much LN2 do you have btw :p:
Enough for some weeks I think :)
Congrats on the landmark Vince! :toast:
Cant agree with you more ;)Quote:

Wow!! That is a badass 1m run kingpin.
Congrats :)
What are we going to be seeing when you remove the IHS :slobber: , you are going to be removing it, right? :D
Thats really nice!
k|ngp|n do you have fully cooled CPU, or do you starve the pot.
I am askig this cause of cold bug, have encouter it with this proc.
Of course :). Could see 4ghz 3dmark runs and 4030mhz for 2d.Quote:

i have experienced that just few days ago, but with your results, it could be possible, that your proc doesn't have cold bug until -150 or so. If it is no secret, can you tell us, what temp do you bench at.
Hehee, the timing of you hitting this landmark is perfect for me on a personal level! You have now made the CABNE 0530APMW the most desirable stepping on the whole planet :D, and my CABNE is on sale right now!Quote:

if you are not using fully coled proc, how is it possible, to gain sth with removing IHS, that ususall causes lower temp, but if you are as low as you can get ?
i am just curious :D.
No......Bad chips in the right hands......are through away...Quote:

SO far for this chip when I hit a limit on how cold it can go, I figure out a way past it by doing things such as higher vcore, more load ,etc.Quote:

Logically you would think thats the case but it isn't. Let say an fx with the IHS on can't go any lower than -80c base temps/-42c bios loaded temps without tripping out. Now you take the ihs off and maybe it can now go to -72c base temps/ -42c bios loaded temps because no ihs = same bios temps at warmer base temp. Again you would think that you would gain nothing and still get same max clocks with those same bios temps as before (-42c), but you gain mhz :). I think the ihs gets in the way of the container doing it's thing (especially if not making good contact) and at -42c bios temps with ihs off there is more cooling power/capacity and you get mhz.
I am not telling you to go and remove your ihs because it is risky. I have lost some damn good chips doing it. I will remove mine when the time is right and there is no more left with it on. It is so much easier to mount a big heavy container with it on. Like night and day.
Congrats there Kingpin. Thats too bad to hear about all those probs with your SPI hd. Below 21's on an FX would just be crazy.
thx, it's kinda funny how the things works sometimes in overclocking, and IHS are godly when comes to mounting evaps and containers.Quote:

Just when i thought I had something to match you; you pulled 4GHZ out of your pockets. Truly outstanding!
Just found out all of the FX-57 0530 APMWs are sold out at ebay. :D
SPI @ 4G is totally inhuman. congrats. :toast:
Not really... I have a harder time actually. With an ARC mounting a bare die is dangerous though. very. With a regular hold down it's not that dangerous if you use insulation on the base as a "support" somewhat.Quote:

How about 3d at 4ghz? Could happen soon almost there. I have new high score in my 05' project manager ;)Quote:

Great job Kingpin. Whose gonna make 19k first, Kinc or Kingpin?? With Sham's crazy cards and Kingpin's cpu, I think 19.2 or so could happen.
It's anybody's game to 19k at this point. I hope we see it before dual core is completely ruling the ORB
dual core doesnt help for the current 3dmarks. if the new one is multithreaded then it will help.Quote:

Ok then why is my 2.9ghz dual core DESTROYING FX's @ 3.4-3.5? Nvidia and now ATI drivers take advantage of multi thread and the power shows big time.Quote:

<mouth drops>
By the beard of zues! this is amazing....Congrats!
Why the heck was my last post blank? That's weird...
I think I was trying to say "WOW" or something.
It's been explained to me that while 3dMark the PROGRAM itself is not multi-threaded, the Nvidia DRIVERS are.....that's what's making the difference.....;)Quote:

4GHz for spi1m, holy:eek: .... chip:D
How much mhz did you gain by taking off your IHS under LN2? Still hesitant to take off yet another IHS...
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i stand corrected. i totally forgot about those drivers.Quote:

Oh so jealous....
disable "SMART" for your hdd(s), faster output to hdd = reduced Pi times ;)
Shocked, FX - power
