Keep Em Coming in!!! :sonic:
Good to hear. What are some specs on the PC? AMD or Intel?
thought i mightve had it working right again, but didn't, explorer stayed at 2% for about 5 minutes, but then started climbing again, now i have explorer closed to @ least my d2ol can have some decent output, ive had a peak mem usage of 982000K today. ill try it some more after this defrag finishes tomorrow, now @ 43% almost 25 minutes since my last post, to give an idea of how long this is taking.
athlon 64 running @ 2.6, 1gb dual channel ram, 160gb HD, DFI ultra-d. i might find myself playing with winlite before long, i just have about 25gb worth of stuff on this HD i really dont want to lose, or i mightve already formatted it.Quote:

Should be good for at least another 200 or more. Good find Movieman!
Glad you mentioned cleanup. Just did mine and cleaned up 12096 frags on the main drive and some on the others. Performance is noticably improved.
Thanks :D
2 hrs for a defrag? dang, just burn your latest data to a disk and restore an image. a restore takes 10 minutes, maybe. then, fresh as the morning dew... :)Quote:

Good to hear Serlv. I think your back in the top 10 producer (or close to it). Alright, time for sleep. Cant sleep til close to 12pm tomorrow (again).
wow, this is pretty exciting! need to find a few more pc's at work to install d2ol. if i'm lucky i can get 10-20, if i'm not it's gonna be zero :(
i remember months and months ago when we were still behind team anandtech, and rod, ddtung and the others were saying we could take the cows by new year's. i thought they were slightly insane, but here we are!
Man it would suck if the cows just rolled over and died in D2OL... I would love to see them put up a real fight so we can see what both our teams are truly capable of.
I am the newb movieman drug in here gotta say these forums are full of some awesome info. I have 4 computers running 5 instances of d2ol and have uploaded 100+ in the first 12 hours running the programs someone got a link to newb education on the cool stuff you guys are adding to your posts? thanks and DPC shall fall
Glad to have you aboard weedsqueezer:toast:Quote:

explorer still taking up 100% cpu, all advice will be taken @ this point short of formatting....
Try safe mode to see if it also take up that much.
Only thing I can think of to get rid of it is to format and reinstall xp :/
can you post a screen shot of the processes tab in task manager so that we can see what is running and which process is taking up all the cpu power?Quote:

Looks like DPC_ICA_COWS are running out of steam. Only 20k today according to www.d2ol.com
Looks like DPC_ICA_COWS upload their backups right now.
So I take it that the other teams will upload their backups too?
If thats really the case, we will get them after they have nothing left to upload.
We need someone who speaks dutch(?) to translate this. Time to ask around and get an interpreter in here. The translation pages just do not work well enough to understand the nuances of different languages.
end of day results for today:
Rank Name Cands
1 XtremeSystems 101,791
2 Dutch Power Cows 86,095
Seems the Cow Dung, I mean the cows fired up all the old 486/50's they could find in their labs and had a mild output today.:D
Try Executive Software Diskeeper , it auto defrags based on usage and moves around directories and your page file for improved performance... I like it at leastQuote:

ive tried everything i can think of to get rid of it, im about to enlarge my storage partition on my HD and then transfer all the files i dont need to get wiped, then after that, bye bye windows, hello clean install, all this time wasted trying to figure out the problem, ill solve it after a quick reformat...
i have about 30gb or so of files i dont need to lose, im hoping i can get a good sized secondary HD sooner or later, just hasn't been high on my priorities
Been using it for years.
@ ex2cib - AARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! :brick: - sorry.Quote:

ive played around with OO and diskeeper, as long as my HD is defragged, im cool, but anyways, its not all that bad about the reformatting, once i get all my drivers back everything will be fine, just got a lot of stuff to save. i know about getting a spare HD, been thinking about it for a while, i have an 80gb i was trying to revive from the dead, not working though. and i have an old 30gb that just wont initialize, bios reads it fine, windows disk manager sees it, but i never can actually use it....well, off to upload what few cands i have in d2ol, and then get the thing partitioning, then off to bed
Though it may not seem like it
DPC = 86k today
XS = 101K today

Time to get creative! Look at the team list, lots of inactive members there and lots of familar names among them. If you know any of them, maybe a call with some gentle arm twisting! Maybe more than gentle if you know them well!:D
With the server messed up, maybe burn a cd with the info needed and take it with you.
Spot an PC doing nothing and get it working like God intended it to be!;)
Is your dear sainted mother's PC just doing email and looking at Aunt Sophie's pictures from her 65th birthday? Make that sucker produce some heat!:D
Get 100 of these "slow" PC's that we walk by everyday up and working and they will make a huge difference!
Call some buddies from the inactive members list and you may find that once they know the importance they will RUN to help out!
Don't be shy! A good salesman is never afraid to ask and you don't get a YES without asking!

its amazing what an actual 2.6ghz system feels like when its not infected by anything.....aaaaaaaa...speed, installing final things, d2ol will probably be the last thing i put back on it, should be completely finished by midnight and back crunching again
good luck! hope you can get tasks
already started actually
soon as it finishes with this 50, ill restart it to get the full 2000
 glad to see he joined a real forum... It will be good for em.Quote:

I have no idea, I'm a member of the subteam DPC_Team_Switch which tends to move around the various projects, to wherever help is needed. I never participated in D2OL until now therefore I don't know what all our subteams are up to.
Here you can see the flush history of ICA_Cows. It's not like I'm revealing any secrets, it's just there at our official stats-pages. It looks like they're used to buffering results for a while. :)
Thanks for the link. On that link, MOST of the dumps (excepct the one all the way at the bottom) that is >50k ends in a zero. Like ddtung said, theres a 1/10 chance of it ending in zero. Now whats the chance of everything >50k ending in 0?
Does it matter?
That's not that difficult, they tried to teach me some math in school, years ago:Quote:

They also taught me that it is very dangerous to try to prove things with statistics.
Some people actually win the Lottery with smaller chances than that.
My guess, since ICA_Cows are still using the same 6 node-numbers you discussed in another thread: I think they've buffered everything offline by renaming the resultQueue.dat-file everytime it reached 2.000. Now they're uploading the lot. You must have noticed that the client uploads 10 jobs at a time, which would explain the ending-0.
Here's a 'progress report' from ICA's dumps today.Quote:

Even though the results server appears to upload 10 at a time, it has to upload the last batch which is not a round 10, and the stats server only does the tally every 15 minutes. To get the above sequence, all the resultQueue.dat files will have to contain exact multiples of ten, or you must win the lottery every time.:)
DDTUNG:cool:
My guess is that the resultQueue.dat files of ICA_Cows contain 2.000 jobs each, which happens to be a multiple of 10.
That's it for the "defending" of my fellow-cows, I'm off back to Cowland. http://www.teamswitch.org/images/smiles/bye.gif
I congratulate you with the #1 which is bound to happen sooner or later.
If you have any more questions of suspicions, you're welcome to post in our forum, use the thread with the title "[D2OL] hitparade...".
well, if each of their resultsqueue's they had were 2000, they would have totals like 20000, 30000, 32000, etc.
and also, they are not using 6 nodes, they are only using one single node
http://app.d2ol.com/stats/nodeProfil...7749&x=19&y=11
so that would mean this team has over 300 rigs all with a resultsqueue.dat file, or over 300 resultsqueue.dat files on their computers. it just seems strange to me
Now that I think of it, we used to have a production of 50k/day max and now we have a daily output of 100k and it still istn't enough lol. It's like the story of my life :p
ARGH! I will get my FX-55 back to D2OL'ing until we have passed them,
I will set it up tomorow.
