Case is open. And I have installed A Zalman VF700 CU. That one blows all over the board. Its realy stange. But i have not heared anyone else that has this problem.

1.2 volts is my max after that i get the problems. With 1.2 volt my max core is 590 and mem 780 or so. i need 1.250 to hit the 800 mem but i can't get that voltage regarding the clock speeds i set. I will get artifacts then :(

I know but i can't find beta 9. I'm trying to contact w1zzard but so far no luck. Do you have it ? so you can mail it to me ?

Fighting cold bug, but learning a few tricks. Still on pelt and I'm wondering if it would do almost as well on air with these core speeds. Load Windows over -0° and power the pelt when running in 3D, notice ATI Tool temp arc ;)

No time for '03 tonight.

1.225 core

2.05/2.05 memory

This thing won't take anymore voltage either on the core. You would think 1.3v like an XT might give better speeds but it just locks up from 1.25v and above even running 500Mhz core speed.

Machine restarts when temp falls below -5° or so. I have not found a way around this yet and the new Cats didn't make a difference. Only way I can run under the pelt is to power it up only when going into 3D so loaded temps stay over the reset temp. So bottom line is I don't think it will work for you but you never know. The AGP versions might be totally different.

Someone needs to mod the BIOS to disable or modify temp monitoring on these cards.

Unbelievable, sorry to hear that Mike :( That leaves the drivers as the only option then if there are no special BIOS'es according to Greyskull. Sampsa said he had a special driver and it's a good bet thats the case with macci's XT results as well.

I'm sorry but I have a problem with a Company/Rep coming on these forums and portraying a card in one fashion specifically for all of us overclockers to see, and ultimately in retail form we have a completely different card that cannot duplicate those preliminary results. Clock speeds are one thing and luck of the draw, I understand that. But not being able to run them under xtreme cooling is totally unacceptable and misleading.

Yea thats so frkn stupid if you ask me. I'm totaly with you on this one. But whit in time if there is a fix you will get it. I'm sure later on the much need bios will comeout .Could also be not bios could be that memcontroler. For one i have 3d 6800U and 2 before were coldbug free. Now this one is freezing once i get into windows. Honestly i dont think its a bios problem more like a card issue.
I hope that Agp version is dif. If not i will sell it and get onother 6800U. Just realy want to try ATi card. Never had one. ;)
You hear me ATi reps. This aGP version better be coldbug free or you will loose me as a customer. lol now this should do it hehe

It's not a cold bug where the card crashes - it's a controlled windows shut-down once the card reaches a certain point. You could prevent it to have the card only run subzero during each test - but if the core is subzero in the short breaks between 3Dmark tests - the Driver??? or the card bios tells Windows to shut down.

What was the error message if any? If this BIOS came from ATI it might have to be run with a specific driver, we need to ask Fugger about that. He went back to the stock XL BIOS on air to run 10K-20K.

good job spajdr. This is your second card right? Any issues with this like the first when you had black squares in fear and popping pixels in single texture testing in 05?

cantankerous : yeah, second but no sapphire thanks god. I got no problems now, only when i got lower voltage on GPU, it shows some errors in single texturing, but it looked different than on sapphire, canyon flight is fine, FEAR too :-) didnt even looked at what is written on gpu and on memory, will attach zalman later today, so if i find anything interesting written on gpu i will post it.

mR_Yellow : hehe, thanks, i only win because of a little more Mhz on CPU i guess :-)
