I just got my xp4000 2x512 back from RMA and Mushkin sent me the wrong RAM...it should show up as being pc4000 correct? I am gonna see if they won't let me pay the difference and get this new stuff. This will be the third time having to send back this RAM.
what parts did we ship you? can u tell me the part number on the modules?

I was supposed to receive 2x512mb xp4000 I got the pc3200 version.
Not without popping the RAM out...but according to CPU-Z it is 991439. here is a screen shot showing the pc3200 and the part number.

That is the XP4000....SPD is at PC3200 though, that's all (mine is too).
Your part number matches that of the XP4000.

it is xp4000. it will prob show up as ddr400 in ur machine. play with the timings and see how it performs. u can call our tech guys for assistance also.

Damn, my memory(not the Mushkin product) must be failing me. I coulda swore the XP4000 was pc4000. Also I coulda swore that CPU-Z listed my first set of Redline at 2-2-2-6? CPU-Z shows this RAM as 2-3-2-6 under it's SPD timings table.
But hey, I could be wrong and prolly am.
EDIT: So far the highest 8hour memtest stable I could get with no divider was 263htt. I am gonna keep tweaking this sli-dr. Anyone know of a good thread where this mobo and ram are tweaked?
Duonger will have more specifics than I will, but you're memory probably isn't failing ;)
They have low-balled the SPD since so that it would first-time boot at nominal voltages easier, IIRC.
Good results so far--but remember that the end goal is Windows stability, you might want to try some Windows memtest and OCing through windows.
I got some great scores on 3Dmark05 and PCmark05 with this RAM. That was at htt 255 so i should be able to beat them now.

It can do 32m superpi, occt, but I am having a tough time getting Prime stable. Time for more tweaking I suppose.

My 2nd pair of Ballistix is dying so here I am in search for 2GB replacement Again! this is the 3rd time within 2 months that I have to shop for new ram :lol: Well, was interested in the OCZ EB but they are sold out everywhere and won't be able to get them till next month, but someone told me these new XP4000 Redline have the same IC so here I am....went from Redline (1GB kit) to 2 Ballistix 2GB kits and now back to Redline again :D :D I just placed my order directly from Mushkin website to have the dual pack overnight to me, the lady who answer the phone told me they have plenty in stock so hopefully they'll ship mine out today otherwise my computer will be down till Friday :stick: I hope these new Redline is reliable and would last longer than those dang Ballistix :D :D
we have plenty. it is a matter of testing and making sure you get the best parts. we got 45k chips in this week so there will be plenty of parts.

I really wanted to like these sticks, but I just don't. At least the pair I got. Very unstable at many settings. I'll hang on to my balistix set and these are going back. I don't have the time or patience to try for seconds these days.

Price on these dropped on Mushkin's website sometime since last week. First set worked so well I ordered another set this morning. Hopefully these will also do 2.5-3-2-6 at 260 and SPD at 280 like the first set.

I just recieved some Mushkin 2GB XP 4000 Redline (2x1GB), I can run both sticks through Memtest stable in single channel, 1 or 2, but when I try to install second stick in second channel, 3 or 4, the board freezes on bootup with 3 lights. I have tried both the yellow and orange slots with the same result. I can put my G.Skills back in using both channels, orange, and the board fires up. very sesitive to some of the extra settings dfi gives us
I've tried 623-2BTA, 623-3, 704-2BTA, and whatever the new beta bios on DFI's site is and while all work well the 623-3 still gives me best results by a small margin. RAM in orange slots...from optimized defaults... enabling CPC, changing the 4 main timings, setting TREF to Auto, and setting RAM voltage to 2.8v give me the best Everest scores... not that Everest scores mean much.

I really gain nothing from going to 3 on my 4400+ or 4600+
I haven't tried dual core opty yet!

Thanks, but it looks like I won't find out why it never booted up because it seems in moving the XP 4000 memory between the different slots, three of the contacts at the end on one side of one of the sticks have come off and now I cannot even run my G.Skill in duel channel (orange or yellow). well, ive been keeping track of this thread since these are the exact same sticks as us OCZ Platinum EB guys. I kinda figured yall would get the same issues too. These sticks are very picky to get 3D stable. My first kit from OCZ was SuperPi32M, Prime95 stable, but when i opened up FEAR or BF2 it would start getting choppy as soon as the video came on and they eventually would freeze if i didnt quit out of it. My first kit was only stable at exactly stock settings. 252 was a no go for 3D :( I contacted OCZ and got an RMA thankfully before they ran out of sticks. My second kit does 260 fine, and ive even tested it further finding them to start loosing it 3D stable at around 268ish. BUT, there are others in the thread here on Xtreme that still have the same issues at lower speeds. In my opinion, these Infineons are very hit or miss as far as how OCable they are. I know i dont own these Mushkins, but they are practically the same, so we might as well help each other. But for now im clutching onto my 2nd kit running 265 3-3-2-7 1T.

ok I just came home from work and opened my muskin, nice packaging!! well...I'm running them at 260 @3-3-2-8 with 2.6v at the moment, with Charlie's timing and testing with OCCT now....it just passed :D :D :D
question, can these sticks clock slightly higher like 270~275 @3-3-3-8 for 24/7 use?

man these Redline kick some serious butt and I'm going to order me another pair!! I'm loving them so far....no problem running them at 11 x 260 @3-3-2-8 with only 2.6v!! with my opty 10.5 x315 on 166 divider they're at 254 @3-3-2-8....winrar is 25MB/s higher than when I had the Ballistix on 183 divider at 275 @3-3-8 2.8v. I haven't push them yet and I do not intend to put more than 2.8v through them either, hopefully they won't have premature death or degrading problem like those micron chips.

I don't know how reliable these Infineon is....after two pairs of Ballistix died on me in less than two months(that's US$600 worth of ram) I'm going to take it easy this time and don't want to find the 'max' right now, this is my 24/7 machine so I'll have to see how long they last first, if they don't died in 2 months then I'll lay the hammer down and push them :D :D for now I'll let other brave soul push theirs to the max because I'm very happy with the way mine is :lol:

Alright, I'd fired up Quake 4 and after a minute or two it lockup, then work again and another minute later it happened again, so now I know what this choppy 3D is all about, I quit Quake 4 and went straight to 3Dmark01se, same deal. After trying a few thing in the bios I found three values have the most impact on this choppy 3D deal, they're Tref, Drive and Data Strength, so far I found at 2.7v the Drive and Data Strength of 8/1 to be more stable than any other combinations (ie: 8/2,3; 6/1,2,3; 4/1,2,3, etc.) Weak drive strength gave me instant 3D lockup, so for now I'm sticking with 8/1 and going to hunt down the Tref one by one....this is some tricky stuff!!
If you guys just got your new sticks, DON'T even bother and waste your time on none of those Prime, OCCT, and SPI 32M.....if your sticks are not 3D stable then they're pretty much useless unless all you need your pc to do is crunching numbers. I suggest the first thing you do is fire up your good ol' 3dMark01se and see how it react, if it's clear then go from there, otherwise you'll get caught with your pants down later on...
Right now don't really have time to play with them (just popped them in this morning and set them to what I wanted) but running at 10x250HTT at 2.7v (the high setting on my mobo) and at 2.5-3-3-8 Will push them more later but since I'm moving overseas tomorrow it won't be for another couple of weeks probably. Still, even if they never did another mhz I'm extremely happy. All I really wanted was 2GB of DDR at 250mhz at CAS2.5. I was gonna hop on the old Mushkin Blueline until they changed the specs on that and then was going OCZ until that was sold out and finally ended up with the Mushkin and am very pleased that everything played out this way. I love the venting design and the color scheme is just beautiful (Even though I don't have a window or anything, it's always nice when you fork out $350+ for something and it at least looks gorgeous - a front that I really think OCZ has a lot of catching up to do in relation to Mushkin although to be fair Mushkin has catching up to do in relation to OCZ in terms of innovation as Mushkin essentially just thieved the chips/performance from OCZ)Quote:

Wow they just made it on there last night too. Just get from Mushkin directly. They went down to 317 the other day.
Wish I would have ordered 2 sets at the same time now. The second set I received yesterday is nowhere even close to as good as the first set from a week ago. CAS 2.5 is unobtainable at any frequency and 280 is unobtainable at any settings. Luck of the draw I suppose but the second set isn't looking hot at all.
