You know I would be willing to sell all my DFI-SLI waterblocks and my PSU for new ones if this board can clock my CPU better, but I doubt we will see any gains over 50-100mhz.Quote:

That is also my main concern and reason why I waited to get one (apart from shortage of cash :D )Quote:

As I dont either, only reason why I said it was just because I am interested to see the results between these two chipset.Quote:

would be nice if the gigabit ethernet went on the pcie bus and not the PCI bus. Need to get stuff off of there.

I, too, am looking forward to seeing some new boards released.
the nvidia ethernet is on the pcie bus - the marvell gigabit is still on the pci bus though
The Nvidia ethernet is a pile. My NF3 ethernet works fine. Ive had nothing but probs with theirs on the NF4 DFI however. Using the Marvel now :stick:
Im waiting for this updated board.
haha well its a pile that runs on pcie ;)
i wasnt aware of it running on the pcie bus. Thanks for the info.
i think the 16x 16x slots should be use to add the sli bridge in that so no use of the sli bridge.... i think that is going to be sli 2.0
Where'd you fiind that picture?Quote:

The native chip-level NVIDIA MAC solution takes advantage of a dedicated port for Gigabit Ethernet. This approach eliminates any bus contention problems...
ATI will be utilizing a x1 pci-e lane.

@ enzo
is that mean that only the sli-dr version will be upgraded , the other ones won't be redisigned ???
is dedicated bus with the same propierties as pci e have..... just is not shared with any other device....

I'm guessing they probably improved on alot of things other than the spacing. Im' looking forward to seeing it in action SOONER than later.
I think so.Quote:

Anyway, this is not an official statement from DFI, but just my personal guess.
Yay, come out soon. I'm pulsing with anticipation ;).

Anyway thank you for having sharing your info.
Asus is a first tier manufacturer, DFI will always get the stuff later (because of chipset manufacturer priorities).Quote:

Well it was the case some Skt A boards, and also when the A8n SLI Dlx first appeared.Quote:

No they don't , and that's prolly because they just posted that and they're updating the websiteQuote:

Good find, DFI wasn't Diamond Flower or something ?
why do they insist on increasing the sli pci-e bandwidth. we havent even saturated agp yet lol.
Will they release a non-sli version ? It would be good to have 3 PCI slots and the better PWM ...
Yeah, I'd love the 3 PCI and the better PWM... but I hope they will not because I will be very pissed off to sell my current mobo for cheap to get a new revision mobo.Quote:

The x-fi is awesome - sounds spectacular...i can't believe that the 24-bit crystalizer and CMS3D actually improves sound that much. Everything is just much "punchier" and much more "full" sounding...its great...anyways, back on topic, sorry for that digression...Quote:

from what ive heard it should be about 1000 points in 3dmark 2005 with 7800gtx in sli but not much improvement if any in games tho but benchers will love itQuote:

I would like that asus too only problem that pipe cooler would not operate well, with the Lian LI 1200 (mobo upside dow n) :(
Why not just wait for Nforce 5? This is like bringing sand to the beach.
when are the asus boards out ? or are they out already ?
Nah not yet... I think within one weeks time. But I can be wrong also as i have not checked it.
when could i buy it???
This will prolly be the last chipset. (nforce 4) that will be before AMD migrates to the M socket. I bet we will se those comming in Q2 of 2006. that will be the Nforce 5 i belive. but thats just my speculations. I just wanna get one of these new DFI boards and see how much they fixed the damn thing.Quote:

Well , we are still waitibg for this MoBO , i have to build one PC , and i think to put mine SLI-DR , and to get the EXPERT but... god knows when is gonna be out is like Ocorber already and there is no sound about that...
Boby
what is the use of building a new rig?
oh eah, you wolud like to give me yours for me 16th BDay +) am i right? lol

I don't think the new socket will require a new chipset per se. After all, the memory controller IS on the CPU. The only reason to change the chipset is to add features...so the question is for me, what new features do they need to add to the chipset?Quote:

OH NOES! I just realized after a more recent picture, they dropped the Promise controller in favor of the 3114r :O. No!!!!
http://zue.rojakpot.com/nf4.JPG <Promise
http://www.ocworks.com/images/mb_dfi...sli_ex01_L.jpg <SCImage
Is that the 3114r or a SATA300 controller?!
I was hoping this board would have 8 sata300 ports liek I initially thought!
weird, two pictures each showing a different SATA controller and slightly different places for the Sata adaptors too. I thought it was the Promise adaptor as well and hope it is, as I am getting sick of this SiL BS.
EDIT... looks like it really is the 3114 yet again
http://www.ocworks.com/temp/LP_UT_nF4_SLI-DR_Expert.pdf
BTW... for anyone in Canada, ETA is the 29th of Sept at NCIX.
http://forum.ncix.com/forums/index.p...id=0#msg928641
it still can have 8, i mean, 4 on the si3114 and 4 on the nf4 16x.Quote:

They max out your 133 MB/sec PCI bus anyway so SATA is not the bottleneck.Quote:

Thanks
BOOYA!!! HOCKEY IS BACK ON THE 6TH, AND I WILL FINALLY MOVE AWAY FROM MY BARTON!!!!
I can't wait to finally have some experience to contribute to these forums again!!!
No one has a sneak peak?
:-(
looking forward to some reviews
Me too :fact:
so what is now with this mobo? Did it released?
are you all dead or what?!?!
Orderd mine @ Icomputers.nl, they say that they have them on Tuesday.
No US suppliers yet? I guess we will have to wait until the end of the month :slapass:
If it doesnt fix Vtt....then whats the point?
