I'm sure most people do :p: It's kind of disappointing that the thread starter has been missing the past two weeks.. It would be nice to get some more information surrounding this memory.. The only alternative for the most part at the present time is Crucial Ballistix, which comes at a premium and isn't affordable to most people on a budget.. Hopefully this OCZ kit is under $300.. :)Quote:

Sorry
Based on your reply, one could assume correctly that the memory you are testing is not the OCZ 2GB (2x1024) D/C Kit PN - OCZ5002048ELGE-K that was announced last week?Quote:

With all these 1 gig sticks there is quite a bit of binning that goes on.
I've just made the leap from 1g to 2g, albeit the 4x512mb route. Ram should arrive in 3-4 days, then I will report back. If everything goes to plan, heh, only change should be running 2T. My rig is for gaming, so we'll see if the benfits are apparent immediately. I'm thinking it will be night and day for loading times in games.
Made such a drastic difference in hitching BF2 for me. Guess I'm the only one that zones out when my comp is loading. :D Come to think of it, it's pretty quick now. Optimizing shaders is still an occasional anooyance. 2 gigs definitely rounds out the package, necessary partner for this GTX here, definitely feel like I finally can tell any game to bring the pain. Big rez's were bringing the pain to my gig instead. First days with BF2, and the new card, and my only 1 gig wasn't very pleasing. I think I waited 2 hours before I odered ram.
I just got corsair value @81gb. Good price/performance aided by 1T being free. Dunno, just couldnt bring myself to spend a ton for ballistix or a second set of high end 2 *512's. I think this might be the last DDR1 for me. Gonna sell these LE's and stay over here in 3-3-3@240ish ville.
At $355 they're going to be cutting out a lot of potential buyers.. =/ Too bad it wasn't under $300... :(Quote:

Thats worth the money IMO.Quote:

1GB RAM doesn't look like its going to be enough for upcoming games so I'm thinking of using more. I was thinking about my options when I had an idea, instead of using 4x512MB low latency at 250Mhz 2-2-2-5 2T, 4x512MB TCCD at 290Mhz 2.5-3-3-7 2T, or 2x1GB at 275Mhz 3-3-3-8 1T, has anyone tried running 2x512MB+2x256MB? Would this be possible? And if so, would you be able to run 1T or would you still have to use 2T? This is an interesting idea because 2GB of good overclocking RAM is expensive and 2x256MB of BH-5 is easy to come by these days for cheap.
huh never thought of that hijon89 good idea!! im sure someone here with alot of ram will test that. 1.5gb of ddr500 2-2-2-5 1t would be awesome!!! just enough ram it would be perfect. but does it work like that??????? someone do tell

wow
the kit I'm testing that is delayed right now would be significantly cheaper. I'm told the IC's have been sourced and possibly available in 2-3 weeks :)
Are you allowed to disclose the ballpark range with regards to MSRP? manufacturer? timings? Estimated date of product going retail?Quote:

Looks like CUSA has a $165-$45 rebate on these right now. Didn't CUSA get rid of their restocking fee? Maybe you could pick up a pair and test. :D BTW - What do you do at CUSA?Quote:

OP, any update on these puppies? When they might be released? Thx
I been lookin at these Looks like a solid set for ~$245 shipped after rebate. Anyone tried em?
Ok!!!
Finally got some word ;)
that I can release some information--not all--only what I know hehe!
Manufacturer=Mushkin
Product=PC3700 2GB dual channel
Release: This weekend with "Special Edition" website sale. Some may remember when BH-5 first came online Mushkin put out a special edition 3200 that became the precursor to the Black line.
Price= I'm not privy too, but heard it will be "affordable" whatever that means
Chips=I'm not for certain, and they are being a bit tight lipped, and I don't want to bite the hand that feeds and take off my spreaders
Hope this helps
edit following the end of an argument @ home:
Will wait to see if people can say whether mushkin's recent RMA attitude has changed as I know 2 people personally who were refused RMAs in past six months for rediculous reasons and also see whther this stuff can o/c well before even considering buying any.
I still say to other mem manufacturers if you all had customer service like OCZ or not to forget crucial then you would make more sales. ;)
gg manners!
yes i lost them at that minute.editted post.Quote:

I think posting in their forums may help to a point. I had a friend try to RMA through Corsair the other day and he was refused too, so I'm afraid that many bad eggs may be causing alot of manufacturers to change their policies. OCZ still seems to have an open rma process.
Anywho! From the kit I have, I can recommend this memory. I'm not sure on average where it will oc to for end users, but hopefully it will average 245-255 and be affordable.

Thanks for the update OP. Hmm, ZZF just got back in stock the Mushkin HP 2gb kit for $265 and ordered a pair.
JNav89GT - any thought's if these PC3700 will be better performers?
well afaik, the chips are the same, just binned for higher operation. If prices aren't too much higher I'd say the 3700 would be the better deal. How much $$$ is it worth to get the higher speeds, I dunno? I'd say maybe $30-35 would be fair. We'll see when they post em up though.
Thx again OP. Well, since Mushkin is charging $322 for the HP 2gb Kit then we're looking around $350 for the PC3700. Being $100 more than ZZF for the PC3200, I'll keep my order with ZZF and hope I can get them up to 250 on CL=2.5 that many have.
yeah I dunno know why their site is so much higher than zzf for the hp3200 modules. will ask them for you ;)

since we tried the new rma policy we have not denied anyone. to this day i know from experience what we have not refused any RMA request. if they we denied please have them contact me
tom@mushkin.com
i would like to get to the bottom of it.
please also not, we have also made changes to our RMA policy to not be as strict.

Alright...first experience with Mushkin RMA and it was great. Of course, I had help from above (read: Duonger), but I expect it would still be great anyway.
Now to figure out whether or not I want to send in only the completely dead stick or both...I was given the option.
Anyway...

crap wish you guys would continue to be generous. lol
I'm using Redline 4x512 and having some problems. I have the DFI SLI-DR board, FX57, OCZ 520W power supply, Zalman 7700 fan, and 510-2fixed bios. I've got the sticks cooled with a 80mm fan at 3.5-3.6V. I'm running the sticks at 2-2-2-6 at 214x14 = 3000. I've also tried 250x12=3000. I don't want to loosen the timings too much b/c I've seen others getting 250 with a stable 32M pi at 2-2-2-6.
Do I have to change the voltage on my 3.3V rail to handle the 3.6V I'm sending it? Smart Guardian is telling me 3.21V. I know a realistic OC for the FX57 should be around 3050 (or 3100 but that's stretching it on air) but is the 4x512 limiting me?
Is your JP17 config right? No way you could be saying 3.5V in BIOS and only get ~3.2V unless something is seriously wrong. When you set JP17 to 2-3, it takes off your 5V line, no need to tweak your 3.3V line.
Also, set everything to auto in BIOS except 2-2-2-6
Thanks Vapor.
Smart Guardian says my DRAM is at 3.53V and my ATX +3.3V is at 3.21V.
Where might I find the JP17?
I will try everything on auto except 2-2-2-6 (along with optimized defaults.)
Your RAM voltage is fine if SG says it's at 3.5V. JP17 is the jumper to switch to >3.2V mode.
What do you guys think about that screenies??
Samsung Value modules w/ Samsung UCCC chips, cheap and ocing stuff... :woot:
I havent read the entire thread, if it is in another page, sorry... :slapass:
My screen is the first, with the two modules in dual channel, using the hardware of my sig... the other screenies are from a friend, who has a 754 rig, because of that, those are in single channel...
Voltage used was 2.9v.
I find this modules a serious option if you want to run 2x1Gb @ 1T, because they do 2.5-3-3-6 @ 240 fully stable, and 3-4-4-8 @ 270 too... :toast:
Post your opinions...
Wow! Very impressive! My Transcend brand Samsung UCCC didn't do anything even close to that. Voltage didn't seem to help over 2.7v. Please post a Tweaker shot and list your tref setting please. :)
You can read about my UCCC here.
Please get your results into the stickied 2x1GB/1x1GB OC Database.
Sorry, but I tested this modules in a LAN Party, not are mine. They are of my friend, who lives in another city, and who has a DFI Nf3 754 board, but if you want, I can ask him for a tweaker SS (but it will be in single channel mode, and at 265, he doesnt get 270 in his system...)
BTW, the only timmings tweaked were the 3-4-4-8, the rest in the DFI bios were left at stock... ;)
Tell me if you want that tweaker screen... ;)
Heh. You need to borrow those sticks again! :D Would like to see the tweaker shot even at default detect setting on your dual cahnnel mobo.Quote:

The shop that sells it here in Spain is this --> http://davidhardware.com/tienda/prod...93017a0eabd274
They have a screen of it too, but only cpu-z, not tweaker... :(
Lord, can u ship them to me? It would be great! :D

The owner is Zarza, he is in N3D and Metamods forum, and he is a good friend of mine, he comes with me to Lan parties...
I can ship some modules to you, but living in Spain too it is not easier that you could shop them at davidhardware.com?? :D :D :D (joking... :P)
No money :P if i had money i would buy a dfi, an nVidia 7800, a vapochill, a OCZ PStream 600w and.. why not? 4 or 5 gigs of that ram :PQuote:
