i guess they can't meet demand on the 5b D chips, which is why they went to the FBGA chips for a while? and now they're using samsung. if you can provide a picture of the stick showing both the crucial label and the UCCC chips, i would appreciate it a lot :D
i hope this doesn't mean that the ballistix will start using the UCCC chips too.

situman, the 1gb/2gb oc thread kinda demonstates 5b D's superiority when properly binned ;)

I got my pair of crucials few hours ago...
2x256 Ballistix really nice one...

I runned them 220@2-2-2-6 1t :P (little mhz but good timmings)
And DDR464@ 2.5-2-2-8 ill pos screen lata...

I got no time to test them more, but i will....really love them!

Doctor Carta, my research tells me they'll do better than our unbinned 5B D's. In fact, where'd ya get em? & how much ya pay? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on them. If that's brainpower PCB, then you'll do better than what we got. Fellow just posted a few threads down his results with em UCCC sammy chips and he got 260-270Mhz outta them w/better timings than what we're posting. They're the best damn 2x1G results I've seen yet.

I've finally managed to squeak 240Mhz outta my pair stably at 3-3-3-8 1T @ 2.95V. It's slightly overvolts, so it's closer to 3V. But it's very stable. I'm gonna have a lot more tweaking before I can get them to 250Mhz. However, it appears, I'm nearing my end. Can do 245Mhz 3-3-3-8 1T stably in memtest, but cannot get it to pass prime yet.

.K16TK is the new ending on the part number eh? i guess that could be good to keep in mind. i wonder if this only applies to the 2x1gb kit, and the single sticks are still in FBGA 5b D form. i guess there's one way to find out :p

also, to take good closeups, have lots of light and use the macro button, it looks like a flower :D

I just got the same version of Crucial ram as Doctor Carta. Got the first 1gb stick yesterday and burned it in overnight 245mhz 3-4-4-8 timings at 2.8 volts. Just got the second stick (same one with .k16tk ending) earlier today and popped it into my system with the same settings. Running perfectly stable after an hour of Warcraft 3. Gonna burn it in overnight again at 255mhz this time and both sticks.

my 2gig kit came from NJ. sitting tight at 233 2.5-2-2-5 timings. Thinking about running it 1:1, but i like the tight timings better.

Update time. Had my 2X1GB set do 2 and a half hours of memtesting at 255mhz 3-4-4-8 timings with no errors. Thats on 2.8v. I'm gonna keep pushing them. Wish me luck.

i wouldn't have a problem with it if you had well cooled 5b D, and you stop at 3.0v but since you have UCCC, it's a bit different, i don't know how that stuff works nearly as well :(

i'd hold off on going over 2.9v personally, especially since you'll probably only get like 3-4mhz out of it

just did a little testing and i have to say i really love the ram :D
215mhz@2,5-3-3-8@only2,7V 1T dualchannel seems to be stable.. but i haven´t run prime so far only played about 3hours and made a SuperPI 1min run.. will do prime over the night

k just did a half hour priming and its´s not primestable with 2,7V :>
i think to get this ram primesatble >210 you have to get >2,8V.. but because in gaming there is quite no instance beween cas3 and 2,5 i will leave it @ 3-3-3-8 2,7V 1T and for benches i could use it with more than >2,7V with cas2,5

After i did final testing i found out that some of the 2gb crucial value sets don´t like 1T.. my highest primestable clock with 1T was only 215@3-3-3-8 2,7V.. but with 2T i´m already @235@3-3-3-7 2,65V primestable and there is still more in it..
and special for gaming there is no differnce between 1 and 2T ..
