Nice intial results.
Looking forward to the overclock with volts and phase and the score with LOD as well. I think these cards will respond very well to volts as long as the temps do not run away ( that will not be a problem with your rig of course ).
Wonder what Shamino's doing ? Has Sampsa cracked open the LN2 yet etc etc ...should be fun over the next few days oince Futuremark add the card.

Nice Job OPP, what are the stock speeds/score's?
Is it too early to say tha ATi has won this round? Nice results, of course the new best, but marginally better than current ATI lineup. I am curious to see the mainstream sister cards of the 7000 series, because the flagship is kind of drab so far. Nice RAM, but where's the pipes? It had better shoot lasers out of it's eyes for the price of 2 of them as well.
It is impossible that anyone could have done a better job than you have with that hardware OPP, so kudos.
Was that 1 PSU running the FX and both GTXs? Does anyone know if there is a problem with 2 PSUs and this new series?
OPP: Do you happen to know if the 7800's have the cold bug like the 6800's do?

Obviously nVidia's got the faster card now but the performance improvement is not huge.
Yea I'm referring to the cold bug. I'm saving up for enough so that I can afford to have Chilly1 mod my VapoLS for use as a VGA cooler and put one of his single stage phase change units in the same case as a CPU cooler, but it looks like that won't be happening with a 7800 so I'll have to stick it out for the next few months with a x800 or something til' R520 becomes available.

I will just be in complete silence, in amazement...

I heard somewhere that the cold-bug has something to do with a temp probe around the die. Maybe its possible to cut it off? Might look into this, and btw, whats the cheapest ship with a known cold bug? Under 100, and I'll take it apart til I find what wrong.

OK, if the cold bug effects you only under -40C then I think I'd be OK so long as I stuck with single stage phase change. Anybody know if its the same way for the X2's?

well newegg has atleast 99 of two brands of them and they are only 50 bux more then current prices of x850xtpe and 6800 ultra so for 50 more bux i would say this is a good deal for 30-40% more speed then either of those cards!!!
wow nvidia blows ati out of the water for availability nvidia has cards one day after launch for sale at major retailers for the retail price at that!!!!!!!!!!!
ati 2 months later starts to trickle in with some x850xtpe for like 100-200 more bux then retail price!!! they just now settle down to retail price recently
availibility just makes me like this card alot more and because i missed last round of top end vga sticking it out with my 6600gt then i think i will get one of these 7800gtx and strap my waterblock on it and shoot for 10000 3dmark 05 without extreme cooling!!

I would like to see 3dmark05 results at 1280x1024 4xAA 8xAF, or higher.
Then same from x850xt and 6800GTU.
At least CPU ain't then slowing down so much..
btw, maybe xtremesystems need new ranking for 3dmark at highres with AA and AF turned on ?
It's needed because no one has fast enough CPU :D
