Wow, congrats Stilt. I'm looking forward in seeing you break the SPi 1M WR!!! I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
And congrats on being on the CPU-Z WR =)....really really great achievement!!!

I'll keep my eyes and ears open tomorrow. :p:
Just waiting you break the SPi 1M WR..Good luck with that!! :shock2:
This hole "thing" is just so incredible.
I think DDR974 with 4-2-3-1 might be better than DDR733 with 3-2-2-1. Anyway, you'll find that out soon :DQuote:

i think he is from this world his cpu surely is not from this world, sometimes i wonder how many non oc has a golden cpu and we dont even know
This is a fantastic job guy :slobber:
My compliments The Stilt
You do a great job there in Finland :toast:
I second thatQuote:

Gah.... after reading such topics Im thinking about switching to Intel.....
Impressive score TheStilt :woot: !
 Never thought about it - but You're right !!!Quote:

Think about it.. it's a small fraction of hardware that goes to OCers.. there must be a lot of jewels in Dells and such, and nobody ever even tries overclocking those :)Quote:

Haha, good call.....but I really don't think that The Stilt went digging through HP and Dell machines for this gem, truely not an everyday chip by any means, simply astounding. :woot:Quote:

Didn´t have enough time to get more LN2 today, so I have to wait until tomorrow :(Quote:

It was The Stilt, not macci :PQuote:

Now when I have a new can of LN2, the motherboard dies.
The only good thing in this sacrifice is that I found out how high the cpu can reach.
Those two mosfets died at the same time during SuperPI 8M (in fourth pass) run at 6.7GHz with 1.72V (real)..
Dead motherboard and the terrible "jackpot smell" in my workshop aren´t the only problems that I currently have.
With 3:4 divider the highest benchable FSB is 365 (timings don´t matter).
I have already benched at 365FSB, so I need either figure out the FSB VTT mod or get a P4 670 cpu with higher multiplier. 1:1 divider even with 3-2-2-1 timings is slow as hell :(
Sorry to hear on the mobo and finding the limits of the FSB speed. GL on however you decide to get around this.
Nevermind, still going Grazy! 6.7Ghz :toast:
boblaus on tapahtunut. :explode2:
time to bench the P5ND2-SLI :D :DQuote:

I can use 925X board bios, but then the highest DDR2 VDD is 1.8V for dual channel...
I´ll receive my Corsair 8000UL parts next week, so I´ll try some 4-4-4-1 action then. Even with those relaxed latencies, DDR1400 should be quite fast :D
what motherboards are using a 4 phase power circuit ? P5WD2, AW8 ? something else ?
I'm searching for a m/b which can handle 400Mhz fsb and high vcores (1.7 at least), and this topic is full of great overclockers :D
Sorry to hear about your mobo Stilt. 6.7 is amazing though. Maybe u should look into making a fifth stage cpu power circuit like someone else did on these forums with an NF-7. Hopefully you can get ram that runs 370+.
All Abit 945/955 boards, Asus P5WD2 and MSI P4N.Quote:

what's the difference between the AW8 & AW8-MAX ???
Here...in Canada...I can get an AW8 @ 221$ (CDN) :slobber:
I really need to go DDR2 & pci-e :slapass:
Bummer :(Quote:

Congrats in the awesome oc and pi time.
I havent really been searching the forums the past few days and thn i stumble across this and i keep reading hoping to see the pi record beaten by a fair bit and then i see that the mobo died. H.opefully the next one is just as good if not beter.....and lives a nice long life
has anyone tried any watercooling or better on these power circitry of these motherboards to see if that can allow for higher clocks and less blown mosfets??
________
INTERRACIAL MATURE
I haven't seen any post here on "blown mosfets".......

That is incredible! Hats off to The Stilt
the stilt what about a prommy on the mosfets? that should give some more space to clock even higher i guess...
sad to hear the board died... hope the new one to be as good as this one
btw... 6.7 on spi 8m... so will you sprise us with a 7ghz suicide??
Congrats
That in one hell of a xtreme SuperPi run :toast:
I doubt it would do any difference, since the mosfets don´t even warm up.Quote:

hi the stilt...in your screen i see you use the ram's timings at cas 4231...
you have see an increment of the performance using this timings?
using cas 3 as long as frequency you are stable for a superPi 1M?
thanks
Hey, Stilt. I dont know if this has been asked before so pls forgive me if it has :)Quote:

2MB L2 cache (660) is 1 second faster in SuperPI 1M compared to 1MB (560).Quote:

I was wondering if a program could be made to put small programs like superpi entirely in the cpu cache. I know superpi will probably be a bit too big but pifast would fit in the 2mb. I'm not a real experienced programmer and I know how complicated window's memory management is so it might not be possible, it's just a brainstorm.
Unfortunately, some elements would call it a "cheat," considering how the SuperPi version which uses all of the Precott's features was portrayed by some. I've always thought that the point of a benchmark was to complete a task, not the program itself.Quote:

He's "operating" at a much higher level when it comes to experience, resources, and skill...I'd love to have some serious runs at a nice OC like that myself..I've got the knowledge, just nowhere NEAR the cash to get a setup like that up and running. :(Quote:
