Indeed very sexy mobo!
ATI does not release motherboards, but the board that you see here will be available in the retail market.

Srry bout that :) Though what's the update on the SB450 ??? Is it gonna be on the boards coming out in June or will we be eating vanilla Uli cake this summer :p:Quote:

I got that contact with my WB on my GPU, but think i then messed it by forgetting the pump was on a seperate PSU when turning on
Might redo it at some point but it's an effort to get out.
Great pic of you macci, i think that should be posted in your thread in the hall of legends :toast:

How about an ETA on that or the white Sapphire board (unless this is the CF version of it) or the DFI RD482?Quote:

Actually if you look closely, the PCB is predominantly black. ;)

Yes the DD waterblocks will fit this board as well. They were not used during the record breaking runs. A simple active air cooled HSF was used. But all testing was done in free air with lots of airflow. In an enclosed environment with overvoltaging and overclocking, the water blocks are a good idea.

We can see that DFI and ASUS provides heck of alot of spacing between the Crossfire slots and still has
3 x PCI for some of us that use 2 soundcards and a Ethernet Card as compared to the ATI mobo................ :)
Nice motheboard. How about voltage options? Sapphire will be manufacturing them under Pure brand, right? PCB color is black because it's hard to manufacture it in white (because of all the stuff and burning marks from soldering etc).Quote:

Heh, ya I was sleeping, but that post from GS looked like thats what he was saying ;)
Freudian slip? :)
Guys read carefully, we're talking about the power FETs for the CPU power delivery. Those were cooled with a HSF. The cards were obviously subzero.

If Macci retired today...he'd have contributed more to the OC world than you or I can ever do in a lifetime of loyalty to the hobby. I doubt he has anything further to prove, especially to you ;)Quote:

k so yea....macci's super great and all...I believe that's been established. In the purpose of furthering the thread, when are those 03 and 01 scores coming ??? :D
AND...will he be there at the R520 launch ??? Though yes no one can deny that a rest is well deserved so pls dont think of those as demands :) .
Also....why arent the XIPs analysing the results ???? :( When Gf4 posted regularly, at least there was SOME analysis (of mainly nature scores :p: ) but still there was SOME. Me wants more :( .

Sorry to intrude but where did my 'R520 10,000+ 3D Mark05' thread dissapear to............
You had accidentally created a duplicate thread of the same name...so there were two of them...I notified the mods of this so that ppl would not be confused...pls dont mind, Its right here:

Not at all........ :) I jus got a fright when I didnt see in my subscribed list anymore......... :D
Non te preoccupare. Quando te serve aiuto, fammi sapere. ;) Sono un pocco spratico con l'Italiano scrito, ma mi arrangio. :)
Now then, you've done a good job with the English. But just to clarify, he's saying that:
"As usual, Macci continues to stupify" (with his achievements)
If I got that wrong feel free to say so!

Well ATi needs to bring the top oc'er to their house to regain the crown.
Why couldn't ATi wait until crossfire cards and boards hit the market, so that everyone can have a go. Or is crossfire another paper launch? Will it be available this year? In decent quantities? And then there is this grayskull, his arrogance towards other overclockers is stunning and marketingwise not very smart.
What if nvidia starts paying people to win benchmarks, where will it end? Only a few fortunate people will be able to compete, because they got handpicked and unreleased hardware (and don't tell me that Macci didn't get that). No really, hiring overclockers only for your marketing scheme is pitiful. It destroys the whole overclocking community because you simply cannot compete against unreleased and handpicked hardware.
It's obvious that crossfire cards and motherboards won't hit the streets before the G70. Again ATi is late. This fact makes this record even more useless and stupid. No-one will ever bother benching 2 X850 cards when there are 2 G70's available.
I do partially agree with ya, but for those of us who eventually want to have our hands on the hardware...it's nice to see the higher end capability of the technology...even if it is using two X850's at 900Mhz that I know I'll probly never see. :slobber: :(Quote:

The company has set dates for samples of Crossfire to be released into the public domain. This date is later on in the month. Bringing Macci (or anyone for that matter) in house allowed us to give him access to the new technology and push it to the limits before it's release. Lastly, Macci has proven himself time and time again to be one of the best overclockers in the world, so he was an obvious candidate.
As for the arrogance comment, I don't know where that's coming from? If you feel there's been incidences of arrogance feel free to PM me, but look back at what we've tried to do for the community. We have taken all your input and built a board with all the features requested. We set up an event in Texas to promote the community and XS specifically. All participants were flown in, lodged and put in front of a professional camera crew for interviews at our expense. We have sent out hardware samples when it was right to do so (i.e. when not in violation of internal policy), to people of the community that wouldn't even get the time of day at any other companies in the industry. And on and on. Now think back and see if any other player in the industry has done the same.

Believe it or not this was considered! A dip in epoxy after built was deemed too expensive and problematic in production. This won't help any of the slots and sockets ofcourse but for CPUs under a Vapochill or any kind of subzero cooler, this feature would be of value.

First off, it is common for products to be announced before they are available.
Grayskull is an engineer and does not work in marketing.
I can assure you the top Nvidia guys most likely have cards provided for one sole purpose and that purpose was to take the top scores in benchmarks. Nvidia has provided me cards as well.
Lastly, it is an honor and a priveledge to be asked to the ATI facilities. It would be any overclockers dream to play on new hardware. The choice of Macci is completely understandable as he is best.
If Grayskull asks me, I will delete your post and clean up this thread. Your post has my attention.
me agree too......... :DQuote:
