Nice run Randi :toast:
Using 256x2 gives you a tad advantage, I'm surprised at your timings. Maybe your Winnie? How does it do with old BH5? What are you using for VMem?
*waits to see what Randi is going to pull outta his hat* :hehe:

Thanks:)
It could be the Winnie, it could be the ram or a combination thereof. I don't believe this pair of G.skill is as good as far as running low latency as others here as you've witnessed in this thread. My system will not boot with the TCCD at these speeds without at least 3v, and my 350 and up 16M runs utilized 3.1V.
I've run 2 pair of old BH-5, Kingston KHX3500 and OCZ PC3500 Plat LE at 270 2-2-2-5 1T. I'll be honest tho, I've killed a ton of A64's from using the voltage necessary to push the BH-5 up and can no longer afford that expense to chase a BH-5 record:)
Very nice mem speed, Randi  Something to go after :)
So, you're saying that with that 2x256MB LE you can't tighten up timmings, say to 8-4-4-2.5-1T ? That's too bad :( Makes me think that actually 2x512MB LA might also be better that 2x512MB LE.
Oh well, very nice DDR700 !!!
I will play little bit more later, maybe next week... I just need this system to cruch D2OL and to my surprise, those sticks are prime95 stable @ 297x10 7-3-3-2.5-1T which I run them at as we speak.
Kep pushing Randi... And don't be affraid to give your BH-5 more volts! It's not Shuttle anymore :) Besides. I haven't heard anyone saying recently that newer CPUs/Mobos die with excessive vdimm... I remember yours and Bowman's nightmare at the beginning of A64 craze :) 6-7 CPUs dead :slobber:
Great clocks :toast:
Thank you Bachus:)
Indeed, I cannot run the timings you just posted but have to loosen a bit as I escalate 1-1 Mhz. This next run was done at CPU-Z validated speed and ratings except I had to adjust Ras to Cas to 6 to get a successful run:)

Randi:D
Another very nice run :toast: I knew you had a rabbit in your hat ;)
If you were successful with the BH5 at those timings (I take it same MB/CPU combo), then it wouldn't appear to be your Winnie. Older date code memory?
Set the bar nice and high for Bachus :D
Great clocking there, guys!
It's pure fun to read and watch!!! :D
ddr 700????
DDR740 anyone;) Ras to Cas dropped to 7 to successfully complete the benches, which does not register correctly in CPU-Z v1.27.

@Randi...
So this is 370x7=2590MHz DDR740 8-6-7-3.0-1T ?
I see that you're very determined in showing what can be done with those sticks :)
Excellent result and contribution to this thread
Hat off to you! Great job, especially that you're one of the minority here that try to always show some stability benches whenever high mem clocks (possible records) are achieved. Not some Sandra or suicide screenie :(
One thing, though... How far can those LE go with 7-3-4-2.5 or 3.0 ? Is DDR680 doable, Randi ?
Regards,
Michal
EDIT: Or, can you say what would be a difference with your setup between this SPi result and 325x8=2600MHZ DDR650 7-3-4-2.5-1T ? I think that could be done with 2x256 LE ?
Mr iceee does it again, nice to see you back here
Thank you althes:)Quote:

I used to do this type of thing with OPP and DDTUNG back in the day, I learned from the best indeed when it comes to torturing memory to it's limits.
I am not sure of the 340Mhz timing limits but I'm running right now to evaluate. I'm not sure I can match or exceed your or OPB's excellent results in that Mhz range. My sticks seem to excel at 3.1v, 1T command and whatever timings it takes to run and boot into Windows. Thats my goal at this point...how far the DFI will go at 1T command with the G.skill and finish benches:)
Randi:D
Very nice job
yea, nice job MrICee! BTW, does 1 gig and 512 make a difference in SuperPI? Like if I had th1 gig clocked to 250 2-2-2-5 and the 512 to the same, would their be a difference in SuperPI?
@Randi,
Hehe... It seems like I will have to contribute some more results to that thread :D Altough I've been looking for max "mem frequency / max performace" combination, I'm curious how my LA kit performs with timmings loosened ;)
I'm just little bit caught up with the "race" within our D2OL team and just dedided not to interrupt any of the machines for about 7 days. So hopefully next week I will show up here with more results.
Give those mems even worse hell than that, Randi :toast:
Michal
this is getting good.. Wheres the Beer maiden? :toast:
michal:)
I'd be interested to see also how far your excellent sticks will go. I have tossed around getting a pair of the newer "LA" PC4800, tho I should solicit G.skill for a pair to review first, then see how far they go.
Can't wait to see your next results my friend, this is indeed the fun factor of our hobby at it's best !
Best regards,
Randi:D
You guys are going crazy :slobber:
Master OPB , I want to know if your ram is running dual channel or singal channel while you are breaking the FSB
I've heard that dual channel will have about 1~3MHz difference. Is that true :)
I thought it was just about time for you to come back with another rabbit from your hat ;) Excellent results Randy :toast:Quote:

All right, that's it... Tommorow I will take my DFI NF4 out of the "D2OL crunching" loop and play with it for few hours...Quote:

So OPB decided against fixing his wunderFX ?? Darn, I told him I'ld take it if he was gonna keychain it, lol.
Going racing, eh Michal? Thought that comment might tweak your interest ;) Giving Randi a 2 day head start too...hmmmmmmm... strap on your seatbelt :p:
Happy Hunting bro :toast:
bachus, do you or OPB have any updates for this thread? :D :stick:
awesome clocks to you all! :toast:

The reason is now I use phase-change on my DFI/Winnie and I experience some symptoms of "cold-bug". I can clock 2x256MB BH-5 memory quite high (up to 279MHz for SPi 16M. 275MHz for Spi 32M and 284MHz for Pifast) but TCCD craps out really quickly.
It's pretty annoying, because most I can get from my 2x256MB kit of PC4800LA is about 290MHz 7-3-3-2.5-1T and only slighlty above 300MHz 7-3-4-2.5-1T. Above that, the rig either do not start-up at all, or freezes in Windows when temperature drops or I get BSODs all over the place :D As you can see, that's pretty bad, comparing to 345MHz in SuperPI 16M I did on air, before moving to phase-change. I do not even want to comment on my adventures with 2x512MB PC4400LE as this is just even more depressing
So, most likely next month I will be getting some more toys to play with, along with new chip (Venice or San Diego, not sure yet). Hopefully, they will not have any sort of "cold-bug" issues, at least under single-stage phase change unit I own ;)
Thanks for stopping by bro ;)
Michal
alright man. that's cool. i'll be back in a month :bows:
i just bought some G.Skill LA and it arrived on thrusday. can't wait to get it going on a DFI NF4....but i gotta wait to get my venice and make some other adjustments :p:
Seems like you need good 'ol fx-55 130nm ;)Quote:
