It doesn't really matter who wins as they are all winners, but I can imagine the red mist will come down as they are all competitive of course. If it was on Intel I'd be tempted to think FUGGER would know the most uptodate tweaks, might be a disadvantage for him if it is AMD. However FUGGER also has Chilly1 cooling up his sleeve, Macci and Opp have PC ICE's excellent cascades ( that Ati one looks fantastic ) but Chilly might have some sort of surprise to give FUGGER the edge.

So many variables it is hard to tell, but of course on current form Opp must be slight favourite.

I'd have to say fugger has the edge on cooling, from what I've heard of his current experiments - but I agree, I think the winner is a toss-up. Hopefully I'll be there to see the action regardless :D

-130C would be an edge but in the heat of battle is it as easy to get as -100C and still leave time for other tweaks ?

Also questions arise

a) Is there a time limit on the competition ?
b) Are volt mods allowed, I assume so?
c) Are the contestants allowed to do preprep work on the boards etc before they get there or are they given new parts that day ?

Fugger has his Chilly cooling and his X850XT, I have my PCIce cooling and a X850XT. I say we bench 3D05, use what ever setup you like. Lets see who goes to the top of this page by the end of the weekend:D

Knowledge is power and all that. They'll be too busy overclocking, you can be there taking notes heh heh :D

could this graphics card not just be simply an Ati x850xtAMR? I.e. an x850 with Ati Sli support? Seems more likely to me, after all those Ati specs give the r520 a fillrate of
16,800 mpixels/sec. This is ridiculously large, especially when you think the x850 xt pe has about 8900. Also, 8 pipes lasted Ati for 2 years, would 16 last them less than one?

I never heard of two x850 gpus on one pcb, it may either be a normal x850xt which OPP has but most never even seen or the new r520. If its amr or dual core, both cascades can go to the gpu and the cpu will just run off air cooling, 2005 doesnt need any real cpu power and 2001 will do fine even if the gpu is air cooled, its so cpu intensive

I dont think it will be an x800xt geforceti4200.... seeing as how they have been out forawhile now, and it says a never before seen card.

I'm guessing Abit mobo (sponsor :p: ) with PCI express on it. The R520 Card, choice of OCZ/ kingston RAM and a availability of OCZ DDR boosters.
HyperX 500+ PSU's available, AMD 64, handpicked winchester cores maybe.

This is truly a battle of the titans....

Macci has to be the world's greatest OVERCLOCKER, he's had experience with everything and if it has transistors, he's OC'ed it...

OPP is just 3D Master backed up with super-cold PCICE hardware.... noone know how to coax more 3DMarks.

FUGGER is consistent and always seems to deliver the big numbers.... often with specialized hardware. The Chilly1 hardware will kick azz, too.

8058 is not a bad score, 750/678 is some very nice gpu clocks, this is better than your x800 ramwise but 50MHz worse corewise. Hows it do in nature in 2001? does the extra ram make up for 50MHz less core since ram matters more anyway?

I just started overclocking the card. I have used very little voltage. I'm expecting 850 core from this card.

I think 2001 is poor with the card. All I did was test nature real quick. It gave me the same score as a 520/560 800xt, but this card is higher so there is a problem with 2001.

perhaps the ram timing for the x850xt are looser? didnt kingpin have the same problem? I used to own a 9800pro that was 3fps slower in nature vs. other 9800pros, I figured I got one with lax ram timing. Have you set everything in ati tool to high performance? also have you given the newest cat 5.2 a try? Maybe those are the fix :D

yesterday, i was almost gonna say this is going to be a repeat of the 9800XT thing... where people maxed out at 600mhz core, then you, and a few others, somehow pulled up to ~650mhz to get that 30.5-31.3k score.

going 600/660 out of the box standard aircooled

Here default clocks (low res :D )and low volt on the CPU, still waiting for my DFI, that MSI-NF4 can't past 1.83 volt :(

It's low res...

just saw, even for low res, its just amazing! 2001 is very cpu intensive so this shows off your mighty cpu power nicely! 45.7k now! dont see it on the orb yet to replace your 44.4k score, will wait for it to update. your 44.4k is behind opp in all but nature and +20 ahead in drag low. I am curious to see your game tests in the 45.7k :D
