*** The XS SLI 3DMark 05 and 03 Top 10 List ***

OK, so there are a lot of fortunate members here on XS with SLI setups. However, there is not a single person with SLI on the entire front page of ORB for both 05 and 03 who has AN XS TAG !!!!!!!!

I understand some ppl here are from different teams for those without teams willing to join the XS 3dmark Team once the captain is chosen, It would be nice to see somone with an XS tag SOMEWHERE on the front page for 05 and 03 sli marks.

EDIT: Does that sound a little demanding....cause it wasnt meant to be. Anyhoo, just a priority that I wanted to make members aware of. Nothing else.

Mines been tagged in 6th place for days... I've dropped down now though.

We need some more 66.93 WHQL FM Approved 03 runs made by some of the guys willing to do the **xtremesystems.org** tag. We could dominate the list !

Couldn't get SLI to work with 66.93, 71.80 gives me 10C lower temps then 71.25 aswell, so I will bench on that when I can mod BIOS to 1.5v :/

Really? I was able to with the ASUS and the MSI in both 03 and 05. Have you tried with the Ultra cards yet, eva2000?

tried 66.93 with both 6800GT/6800U PCI-E and no go for SLI mode :(

71.24 still are best drivers for me

Did you install 71.24 than manually update the driver to 66.93 (do not use install program). That way, the fixed dll's stay.

nah i have a basic ghost image OS that i make after i first time install winxp pro sp2 which has never had any drivers installed...

then when i change drivers i revert to this basic ghost image to install drivers for first time :)

then i ghost image each driver state, so i can switch between fresh first time drivers for 66.93, 71.24, 71.80 etc

Is Win2000 not good for 3DM05? Don't see anyone using it.

Thought the 3D team was concentrated on 01. But, I tagged my results as requested.

My second place on the hall of fame is tagged (like that will last). Have to use the 66.93 driver, however. And, it seems people are having problems with that driver. I also have the number 2 spot on approved FM driver 05. Again, for the moment.

Not really, never been on a front page before. All I did was open the back door, thats as xtreme as I get. Only reason I'm on the front page is because it seems the true benchers have boycotted SLI.

71.80 workin fine for me...
450/1200 is all day stable for me...
go for tweaking and you'll have a higher score too...

I had problems with 66.93 also :( I am in the top ten in both 03 and 05 (at least as of Thursday) but running driver 71.80....and I AM tagged XTREMESYS so maybe you were searching "official drivers" .

Damn I hope NVIDIA releases an "official" driver soon. The 66.93's suck for the OC.

probably limited by extreme cooling options more than anything hehe - although i have heard of at least 2-4 projects by these guys for dual video card cascaded phase change systems in the works.. they're coming just not right now lol

Ok, I fixed mine (now shows XS tag) but it is with 6600Gt's, so no outrageous scores for me :D

Yes, once they show up, 12k will be the entry fee to be on the list. Especially if they phase cool the GPU's. I think we will see some 13K scores. Shimano was around 12,900 or so on the crappy 66.93 drivers. So, he would have been in the 13K+ range had been able to use the newer drivers.

just UNinstall the 71.24 driver through control panel, reboot and install 66.93 right ontop of the dirty drivers(do not use driver cleaner). it seems to help with approval(FM) and you still get a decent score.

SIK, nice work on the initial 05 score. Very good for air cooled cards! I think watercooled, GPU core Volt mod and 3.3 GHz on the FX-55 will yield 12K on 05.

I did the 66.93 install very similar. I manually updated the driver (you will have to do it for both cards) to the 66.93, and it worked fine.

And, it now looks like the first phase changed GPU and CPU combo with the DFI has arrived on the ORB. I think they are using GT's, so they should be limited to around 550 or so on the GPU core.

Oh damnit SIK you beat me, I didn't want to bench this week now I have to :)

i'm waiting for my DFI NF4 SLI-D before i do any more damage to this list... if i can find a winnie that does 3ghz on water that would be nice hehe

Ditto. My Asus SLI is maxxed out.

I just wish DFI could have put these boards out in better volumes. The waiting around is nasty.

Looks like a few phase change systems are in the works for the GPU's, and , it appears that more than a few are converting to the DFI SLI board. I think it will be interesting to see any improvements over the likes of MSI and ASUS.

Nice clocking on the processor. How are you liking the DFI? I have heard rumblings about how difficult it is to get running, initially. What is your quick take on the DFI?

And, eva2000 will be climbing ina bout a week, I suppose. Now that the DFI is on the way!

Hmm, and it sounds like abstrakt may have hit the ceiling on his score. SIK has him beat by a measely 24 points.

Thx for the congrats guys. The DFI is purely the best board I have ever played with. I am using the exact same memory/cpu and the exact same voltages as I did on my Gigabyte SLI! It almost seems wrong that my memory is clocking so high :)

As far as setup, it was a breeze for me once I booted only with one dimm (in channel 4) and immediately flashed to bios 2/01 (I am using 2/09 now). Bios 1/25 (the shipping bios) will not boot for most in Dual Channel! After that it has been a dream setup :banana:

I still have higher I can go on the video clocks. I am still testing everything for stability. These were just dry runs. Thank God for my PCP&C PSU LOL. Here's a pick of my setup with memory timings. And if you guys don't have the DFI yet...pick it up :toast:

mdzcpa, nice scores! You now own the list! I think we will see more improved results for anyone who acquires the DFI board. People wondered how I kept up with phase changed FX-55's, but it was that most were hamstrung by the ASUS board or low voltage on the MSI. I had a little more clock on the GPU to compensate, but since the DFI showed up, my score will probably slowly slide off the list ;) That is, unless I join the DFI/FX-55/Phase cooled group.

12K on 05 is a very nice score, indeed! eva2000 will be back for blood once he has his board on hand.

What are the mem transfer rates on that board with SiSandra? 9000+?

And, I bet the DFI will do better. With the MSI, I was able to get over 8000 with a Winnie. 9000 is pretty much the norm with an OC'd FX-55 on a good board. It will be interesting to see how much the DFI helps you out on your score.

Wondering what your SiSandra is, as well. With the FX-55, and some good memory, 9K should be attainable.

And, since Shamino's score is on an older build, and no longer published (he was was at 12,457), that latest effort (12,070) puts you in the number 1 spot on 3Dmark05! :toast:

Also, the link refers to a 7061 score result? I have that result posted so far, but it looks like his best is really 7079.

Phase cooling the CPU should open up your score quite a bit.

Thanks Dave. Have to downgrade to 6600GT class series since 6800Us are gone. You have an amazing pair of 6800Us. They clock very well. I've tried like 8 6800Us and none can go beyond 470/1190.

I got lucky, I guess. I went through 4 cards and picked the two that were the closest match on core temp and memory auto detect. The similar core temps usually indicate similar reponse to overclocking and voltage tolerance. I actually picked the two middle cards. There was one card that idled at 41 C, two at 43C and one at 47C. They all pretty much auto detected to around 1180 on the memory with the stock HSF. Sometimes its all about luck ;)

Wow, most of 6800Us I've tried were auto-detected at 44X/115X. The 6600GTs are different stories though. Both were auto detected at 60X/1240. Normal 6600GT is 500/1100.

Now, imagine a 16 pipe card at those clocks! And, those on the way very soon ;)

Thanks. I didn't realize that and was happy for a while thinking #1 was within reach - until I found out who were ahead of me. There is no way I can pass Shamino with his crazy clocking 6600GTs. OMG, he is still with 66.93 drivers. He can pull away easily just by switching to newer drivers. :slobber:

Both are good for #2 in both 03 and 05 Default. Not enough to catch 1st though. But close:)

Going to the 75.90s for non WHQL now!

I grabbed a #10 overall in '05 with a 11,208.... still haven't tweaked o/s or downloaded rivatuner, though.... and at 455/1135.
Will pull out all the stops and see what she's got tommorrow!

Looks like Team CPU City bumped up to first with 27,076 on 03 FM Approved WHQL.

I want to see what those new drivers can do. I would think you would gain around 300-400 points. But, we will know soon ;)


And, SIK, these are the results to gun for. Same mobo and card, similar clocks. He easily eclipsed my results.
