the internal zippy fan isnt standard 3 pin.
One LAST word is : This PSU ROCKS big time....... :D :toast:
VERY good design .......Can handle everythig you through it on...... :D
It can handle EASY :
A whole rig with a P4 3.8GHz Prescott @ 5200MHz at FULL load , PLUS the VGA ATI X800XT PE at 1.93VGPU and another 110 - 120 Watts at full load too.......PLUS 4 x DELTA Fans 12 x 12 cm 200cfms @ 2A each = 8A at 12Volts .....PLUS....... :D
I'm happy you guys gave Zippy a try ,I dont feel all alone telling ppl it's a great PSU anymore .lol
Mine's been running great for...must be 3 years now I think.
On a side note: does anyone know if it's possible to convert the 8 pin EPS connector to a 6 Pin BTX one ?
i'm not sure if this is what you need:
http://www.zippy.com/P_product_detai..._code=4P2TOATX
but you can search this page if it isn't:
http://www.zippy.com/P_Product_searc...=&pp_solution=
Thanks for the effort jikdoc but none of these links have anything that could work for 8 pin EPS to 6 BTX.Oh well..

mod was a smashing success. the fan in the zippy is a 2pin plug. plugged in the 3pin fanmate into the correct pins on the pcb, then the fan into the fanmate. in needed to use an exacto knife to carve away bits of the fanmate so the fan would plug in securely. attached the whole shebang to the ouside of the zippy with velcro and voila! instant adjustable fan speed. the sound is MUCH lower and temps are about the same.
Yes,sorry. Somedays I'm a total moron,too much online gaming I guess...Quote:

In about an hour from now I'll upload photos for modding this PSU coz I'm in a harry right now...... :D
NOT very easy mods I must say....... :(
I'll link it....... ;)
Glad you guys are liking it :) Too bad I ain't using it nearly well enough now that I got off phase change cooling. I MIGHT start looking to downgrade PSU :P Nothing really wrong but I might be interested in lowering the noise tad bit more and easier on eye cabling. Haven't decided it yet though... :P
UP and running........ :D :toast:
but WHY desn't the Zippy work with the DFI NF4??? What's the deal with the 5v rail incompatibly?????
C
Ye :banana::banana::banana:ing ha. It had better be able to handle ANYTHING with 45 damn amps on the 12v+Quote:

No.
thanks Torin :)
does this mean it does work with an ultra D set at 3.3 volts on the vdimm, but NOT with it set to get 4.0? I wanna get it, but not if it doesn't work at either setting. Little bit of clarification would be appreciated :)Quote:

You may need to place a single jumper on the singled-out jumper location, but I cant remember.. i'm sure someone does?
For example if you wanted 3.6v to your ram you would need the 3.3v rail at 3.8v to 4.0v
This may differ slightly on the Ultra D, but most boards step voltage down due to the regulator(s) so you lose being able to set exactly the same as your 3.3v rail is.
thanks for quick reply, I'm not going to be running any bh-5, so I'll keep it on the 3.3, that should be fine for me then. HX prob won't take more than 3.1 volts anyway...
Very Nice Must get me one of these brutes.. How do they fair against the PC Pwr and Cooling 850w and 1kw.. Must be pretty close. Im looking for new unit and need the ultimate grunt in power.. Just not sure to go with Zippy, or the 850w PCP&C or the 1KW..Right now im using a Modded PCP&C 510 Deluxe SLI/ASL (in fact I have 2 one that has 12v/3.3v/5v mods and one that does not)
