wow elisha, that cat is beautifull!!!
about training her... i dont know if there are any techniques, afaik cats only do tricks if they want to do them... my cats listen to their names, always, but they dont always do what i tell them to do (come to me, jump on my legs, go away etc)
,y causins cat is a really amazing cat! when he wants to play he will come to you, sit in front of your legs and then bow downa dn then drop one of his toys out of his mouth. then he will sit very patiently and look up in your face and make noises until you bow down, take his toy and throw it away. then he jumps up and catches it in the air with his mouth, or he runs for it and catches it. then he plays with it for 20seconds and brings it back to you to throw it again
hes the smartest cat ive ever seen! he opens doors, windows, closets, the freezer, even the oven when its cold and has food inside!
and the weird thing is that they never trained him, he just does all this by himself! he also listens to his name, he always comes if you call him loud enough, even if hes alseep and you wake him up!
my cousin got a baby 8 months ago and one time fell asleep in the living room (she was so exhausted because the baby barely allowed her to sleep) and the baby was crying in the baby room wich is on the other end of her apartment.
she didnt hear it and didnt wake up, so her cat came to her and was licking her face, first softly then stronger and stronger (cats have a rough tongue, a cat licking your face can hurt quite bad if they do it heavily! :D) until she woke up.
amazing cat!
its 18 years old as well, but it looks and walks and jumps around like its 4 years old .... really an amazing cat...
Saaya my kitten is exactly like that.
she's got some dog in her. she'll bring me her ball and drop it on my chest when i'm on the bed or at my feet when i'm sitting for me to play fetch.
if i don't pay attention she come up to my face and breathes close to my face......if still no go she paws my hands or my face.
as soon as i throw the ball she tries catching it in mid-air doing a summersault or chases it and brings it back to me to do it all over again.
if she has no food she wakes me up and walks me to her bowl.
and if i sleep too long she paws my face or tries to get under my blanket to paw me. sometimes scratches my head as well. she'll do whatever she can to wake me up if i've been sleeping too long.
she opens doors quite well.
she's really smart without training but i wish she could be trained like a dog to do things at demand.
i dont think thats possible... its just not what cats are like... i never heard of a trained cat ever... i think that means that its not really possible...
btw, the only way i found out i can teach my won cats is with food, because then they are always interested :D
use those small snacks for cats to train her.
like call "come here (name fo your cat)" several times until she comes, if she doesnt come then grab her, then take her on your arms and call "come here (name) " again and then give her one of those snacks.
im sure you can get her to come to you and jump on your amrs if you do it for some weeks, but i dont know if she will keep doing it if you stop giving her snacks :D
Trained cats are pretty common. Movies have a lot since using an untrained cat would make filming the movie quite hard.. ;)
i want to post some pics of my cats but im a retard when it comes to shrinking pics and the smallest i can get them is around 500 k and 800 k each. My cats are called moo and roo. Moo is fat like a cow and has the same coloring as a cow too. Roo is a total :banana::banana::banana::banana:. I actually have My GF's 8 week old kitten here too right now. Essentially my condo belongs to felines, but i dont mind cause i love all animals... some taste better than others too :)
Ive heard of trained cats too, more often its trained people though...Quote:

Cats have to be trained with praise and affection. But you can train them to do lots of things.
Sounds just like women :sofa:
SS thats looks more like a seal than a cat.
yeah, but there are no cats in mvoies that do tricks, that was what i meant...Quote:

Sixten, very satisfied with today's catch.
Sixten on the floor and his halfbrother Thorsten on the sofa. This is where they met for the very first time. As you can see they weren't very impressed with each other :D They're like real brothers now tho but it took about half a year before they could even eat in the same corner.
Nisse. Gotta love the position. It's amazing he still has his head attached because he always sleeps in positions like this. He's a norwegian forestcat and his mom lives next door :)
Thorsten and Nisse. Best buddies in the world, at least when they are sleeping.
Last night my 20 year old mate Tommy exhaled his last breath of life right under my eyes. :(

Rest in peace...
You'll be missed.
I'm really sorry to hear that :(
Hope you're doing okay...
Rest in peace Tommy.
Sorry to hear that Zeus. :( This is Nova he got hit by a car was in a cast for some time but he didnt learn his lession, There was something or should i say someone on the other side of that road. Six months later he was gone. My other cats and my dog stay away from the road. I have nine Acres for them to play and they're happy with that. Again i'm very sorry. :(
sorry to hear :(
Thanks for your support guys.
He was very ill the last days, something with his kidneys.
I was happy i could comfort him while he passed away, although happy isn't really the right word to discribe my mood at the moment. :(
I burried him in the backyard, the place he liked most.
It's a real weird feeling staring at his picture knowing he's gone but that feeling will pass even though i'll never forget him, such is life.
On the other hand, he had 20years of beautifull life, i'm sure he won't complain. ;)
sorry to hear. :( One of my cats died from something similar. :(
jjcom
sorry to hear Zeus. he's in a better place now.
I feel terrible for you zeus, its odd how attached we get to cats(or just pets in general). I love mine as if they were my children.
I'm sorry Zues, it's very hard to lose a lifetime pet. Although he'll never be replaced in your heart, it can help to rescue a new friend to ease the sadness.
This cat was named by my mom...his name is "Mr. Baby Baby"
he likes to walk around with his tongue out...he's slept with it out. not sure why...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...chmentid=26063
This cat is NOT the same one that is in my avatar...but they are brothers.
jjcom
I'm sorry to hear that Zeus, innige deelneming. I would cry when my cat would die, I can't stand the thought of it.
Thanks all for the supportive words.
Time will heal the wounds and life goes on.
I know, 3years ago i burried another of my beloved ones-- she got bit by a big dog while she was asleep. :(
My girlfriend was crying her eyes out, i was sad for weeks.
Losing a cat sux. :(
Time for some brighter notes. :)
My other cat was real lonely so i got her a little friend to keep her company.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...id=26358&stc=1
I think i'll call her Lucky.

I’m sorry about posting this here my cat loving brethren but I have no other recourse. This is Debbie as you may remember from some of my previous posts. She was a Lab mix that was at least 16yrs old. I say was because today I was forced to put her down.
For days now she hadn’t eaten or interact with the rest of the family, all she did was lay on a rug in the kitchen. When I would let her out in the morning before work instead of doing her business and coming back to the door as she always did she went down by the pond and lay on the grass. The vet asked for a urine sample and the tests came back that she had high sugar. I made an appointment to bring her in the next day but by the next day she was a hundred times worse, she could barely walk and was vomiting and her breathing was much labored. When I left in the morning I left her in one of her favorite spots on the porch in the sun but when I came home from work she was back by the pond and I had to carry her into the house. In the first pic she’s laying on a towel in our living room just before I took her to the vet. The second pic is one of her kitty’s friends standing there just watching; they knew something was not right. The vet said her sugar was way over 400 and at that point had become toxic and the only choices were putting her down or putting her on insulin but at her age and condition just the time it would take to find the right dose would more then likely kill her. I gave her almost ten good additional years after rescuing her from an abusive family (ex-in laws) who wanted to put her down just because they were tired of her. We gave her a good home and a loving family and in return she gave us love and companionship she will be greatly missed. Some people say that they are just dumb animals but when I got home from the vets our kitties all came up on the couch to be with my wife and me almost as to console us. RIP old girl.
Poor dog, sorry to hear about her death. :(
jjcom
Sorry to hear Vlad. :(
16 years is pretty old for a dog.
Sorry to hear vlad, putting loved pets down is really hard. :(
I like dogs better, but I do have 2 cats along with 2 dogs.
heres my 13 year old cat:

notice the peice missing from his ear and his scars. hes a fighter :stick:
Does anyone have this problem, my cat likes to watch me on the computer...and attack the mouse on the screen. So, I've got nose prints and cat spit on my monitor 60% of the time lol
jjcom
Yes, my slow cat does this sometimes
Thanks Guys. I've put four dogs and one cat down in the last fifteen yrs. It never gets easy but when they're in pain it's the right thing to do. She will be deeply missed! On the lighter side how many dogs would put up with this.:hehe:

@jjcom My cats are aways all over us when one of us is on the computer, The boys are all over my wife and the girls are all over me. When im doing a new build or modding in any way i have to lock them out of the room because they always want to see what im doing.
@LFATB When you say slow do you mean he or she rides the little bus to school
? Just kidding :D
my cats often lay right on the computer keyboard which is a real bother for me. Or they stand rigth in front of my lcd while i play counter strike... funny for a bit but then i di and i dont like dieing

I've learned something, on the surage protector thing, you have to have something covering the switch. Otherwise, the cats just go back there and while you waiting for for a thread to come up, the computer turned off. :(
jjcom
This little girl has done that to me a few times. :shock:Quote:

I hate all of you.. I had a cat in Russia before I moved to Canada. Now I want one and I can't have one :(
Why not?
Zeus
My life just doesn't allow for one at this time.
BUT I found what I really want. The MOST xtreme cat in existance. It's like the FX-55 @ 4 GHz of the cat world. I could never figure out what I like more a lion or a tiger. In fact, it's a :worship: LIGER :slobber: Information about the liger -
http://www.sierrasafarizoo.com/animals/liger.htm
Half a tonne of pure muscle, can eat 100lb of meat per meal :slobber: My favourite animal now.Quote:
liger is the result of breeding a male lion with a female tiger. It has stripes and spots. The spots are inherited from the lion parent even though adult lions do not appear to be spotted.
The liger is a hybrid cat that inherits most of the strengths of both parent species and is larger than either. If you haven't seen a liger before, come visit Hobbs to get a look at the biggest cat you are ever likely to have seen. By way of size comparison, male Siberian tigers (the largest non-extinct naturally occurring member of the cat family, Felidea) average between 400 and 600 pounds. We estimate Hobbs to weigh about twice that.

Now I just need to buy one and I will never have to pay for anything when I ride it to the store  I could also sell the couch because I bet this thing is very nice and soft to crash on. Just as well I could get rid of all the furniture because it would be destroyed anyway :worship:
me too! dieter (my cat) has a knack for shutting off the ups backup i have connected to my speakers and router.Quote:

heheh what a cute cat!!!
I had a cat like that, same colors, but she was really big. Hehe, your dog is kool too, do they both get along?
I used to have that problem with my old cat (15 years ld) with N64. she would just walking in and hit the reset switch.Quote:

Esta is still quite young and bit anxious to the likes of the cat. Amanda isn't yet used to a dog this big.
Have you guys ever discussed why so many XS members are cat lovers? Do cats overclock better than dogs or something? :ROTF:
P.S. I'm a cat lover too. Adopted a Siamese cat once but never took any pictures of it
