rig in sig!
prime stable at those settings. figured i needed to put load on the computer while i'm away at work.
Wow... I'm very interested what kind of production you'll get out of that monster.
im kinda dissapointed in the performance of folding on my machine, i dont leave it on while im at school but when im home its always on, and i still am not getting the results i hoped for, i guess this is the best i can expect from a lightly overclocked Northwood...

I finally splurged on cases for my Xeon rigs. Here are the two at my desk...

and close up...

And I one more case came in today that I'll populate later this week or maybe this weekend...

First time I've ordered Chieftec cases and I have to say I really like them. Very well made and not too much $$$. ;) I wish I could have found one more Matrix case but TigerDirect ran out and I couldn't find them anywhere else. Oh well... I'm happy. :D
nice, just one question, how many rooms in your house have at least 1 computer in them, and how many rooms dont?
Just the basement(pictured) and my son's room. All the computers listed as (offsite) are not here... using my electricity. ;) If it wasn't for having to pay for electricity... I'd probably have 8 or 9 dual Xeons running. As it stands though... 4 is going to be my limit.
I have a chieftech too for my main rig (in sig)... I love it!Quote:

just got a free pc from school :D dont know what speed, but its in the range from 350 to 500, so ill throw that up, but ive only got 128mb for it atm, but im going to grab some cheap 512mb pc100 sticks sometime for all the pcs in my room that run sdr
hopefully it churns out some conformers (hopefully) and i need to grab some memory for my dual p3 450mhz server! that will be interesting

*BUMP*
Let's see some people updating us on what they've changed over the past month or two and... HEY ALL YOU NEW CRUNCHERS... LET'S SEE WHAT YOU'VE GOT!!! ;)
4 crunching and just added a 5th.
AXP-M north of 2800 mHz
AXP-M just south of 2400 mHZ
AXP-M @ 2182 mHz
AXP 2500+ @ 2191 mHz
just added another AXP-M @ 2136 mHz
I need to do some HSF cleaning / system renovating; the last three systems have been crunching for a long time, at higher speeds, but i've had to lower their clocks over time, to maintain them w/o paying much attention to 'em.
Right now ( for another 24 hours)
1) 2.8E prescott, varies from stock to 3.66 Ghz
2) Pentium 200Mhz (this baby's cranking out 3.7 a day!!!)
Once my parts come in over the next few days:
Dually Xeon 1.6Ghz x2 or whatever it cranks up to.
Pentium 200
Dual 550 Mhz Xeon
In another few weeks, I'll add another Xeon rig, and more as I beg the wife :cord:
 I can completely relate to that last statement. ;)Quote:

sadly, I'm not getting the dual xeons... the asus board isnt exactly cheap over here and january isn't exactly over yet. if it was, I'd get those ebay xeons you pointed me to, 2x1gb sticks and make it a nice web server for sure :(
just ordered an xp-m 2400+ and 2 big ass heatsinks though so the little mobile chip will crunch some numbers as well starting next week.
You're right, it's already up and running :)Quote:

NEW UPDATE: 2/3/05
Just recieved a NEW PC-DL and 2 1.6 lv''s
waiting on Cooler Master Heatsinks and EPS Power supply.....hopefully get it running this weekend......
just got dads p4 2.8 northwood running cooler with a new psu so he'll be crunching 24/7 hopefully that will kick out 150+ a day ;)
my 300mhz laptops are doing about 10/15 a day which isnt too shabby for little Windows ME jobbies ;)
take care
Just installed d2ol on a KX7-333R running @ 2370 mHz. Should be a good cruncher.
put another log on the fire, cook me up some bacon and some beans...
Didn't like not making the list after making it two days in a row. Plus, I'm losing my S 754 system; sold most of it and need to take it apart.
Well, here it is, updated:
- the rig in my sig 25/8 ;)
- 1 pIII 800 Mhz
- 3 Pent.4 @ 2.8Ghz @ work 24/7
- 1 Pent.4 @ 3.0Ghz with HT ( @ work 24/7 )
- my tablet PC ( Centrino 1.8 ) while i'm programming
All the above setup for the same node ( 114042 ), i noticed lately it's the number 2 node worldwide
Nybody knows why sometimes, when running D2OL as service ( i.e not as agent ) it takes up 100% cpu and the whole computer runs slow, even with DDaddy? Will changing the process priority in the task list help in this case?
Current lineup as of 1-13-05
(subject to change)
AXP-M at 2273 mHz
AXP-M at 2505 mHz
AXP-M at 2374 mHz
AXP-M at 2128 mHz
AXP-M at 2320 mHz
AXP-M at 2401 mHz
AXP-M at 2388 mHz
AXP-M at 2133 mHz
AXP at 2191 mHz
AXP at 2370 mHz
A64 at 2420 mHz
A64 at 2660 mHz
And an AXP-M under a Prommy, that I don't want to talk, about that is off more than it is on.
I would imagine you are starting to use page file... How much Mem do you have in the system?Quote:

Just installed the app.. thanks for the pre-tweaked and setup version, it appeals more to the masses :D
1700+ @ 2925mhz 1.95v (phase change, not 24/7)
P4 1.7 wilamette @ 1.7 (doesnt run stable above that, poor clocker) 24/7
Hope I can contriubute to this. How do I edit the settings, after installing the tweaked d20l client there is no GUI or anything that I can find running.. just services in the background.
EDIT: WHERE CAN I FIND MY NODEID? I CANT REGISTER WITHOUT IT

If you already re-booted or stopped the app in the tray you will need to stop the service and start it up as a normal app...
Go to the service manager (Right click on your My Computer icon on the desktop and select Manage. At the bottom you should see Services...) Stop the XS_D2OL1 service.
Now go to the task manager and stop the Gridwin.exe (or Dockwin.exe) Do it for all of them if you used a multiple node installer (XS_D2OL1, XS_D2OL2 ect.)
Now go to the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL1\D2OL" and open D2OL.exe. this will start it in the sys tray...
Right click on the sys tray icon and select Status. At the top select Statistics.
Here you can see your node ID and your e-mail address.
Do the same in the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL2\D2OL" and so on...
------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
To change setting while it is running as a service just edit the general.prp file in Notepad. It is stored in the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL1\D2OL\res" folder. Make any changes to the same file in the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL2\D2OL\res' folder, and so on if you used a multiple node installer.
I need a FAQ for my installers :D
Thanks, that clears it up.
Did it not startup in the sys tray directly after you were asked to register with an e-mail???
I need to know these things just in case there is a problem...
No it did not. The only way I knew it was running was because it showed up in the task manager. I could not set an email or change the preferences. I later uninstalled the service using the uninstall batch file, and then ran the d2OL program itself and found the default email to be --- :) --- and I also found the node number.
I'm using a
Athlon 64 3400+ NC rig.
I'm planning to add an Athlon 64 2800+ NC rig if only i can know how to install it in linux...
lmao... you took the community node!
It's cool... you used the community installer and removed that node from our account... I'm already working on getting the node returned... you cannot have that node. You should have used a personal installer if you wanted your own account.
You will need to repeat the steps listed above to stop the service and start it as a normal task.... before you start it delete the node.prp file out of the /res file (the same folder as the general.prp file)
You may need to change the e-mail address on your D2OL account first. Go here and log in. http://app.d2ol.com/memberServices/memberLogin.jsp Change the e-mail to yours.
When you start the D2OL.exe file it will ask you to register the node... Use your new e-mail address.
You may have seen that you have 3500+ points  that's cuz you have our Community node in your account. Don't worry about moving it back... I'll have the D2OL administration take care of it.
Please do this quickly so your points can start going to your account... and also so i can remove the sensitive info from this post. The node will be moved out of your account and back into the XS_Community account shortly.
I skipped the red tape and moved the node back myself :hehe:
should be all taken care of on my end... now you just need to make the changes on your end for the e-mail and node.prp...
Rod - currently, your all-in-one batch installer assigns the community node and starts both D2OL and DDaddy as background services - it never starts the D2OL GUI nor asks for an email address. (I've had to uninstall the package to rectify this - hope that node is the team's again!)
Since you're going to have to return the node to XS EVERY time someone runs your batch install, I'd suggest taking them offline until they are fixed . . .
In the meantime, go crazy node hopping!!
:YIPPIE:
The node is the teams again
It sounds like you downloaded the wrong installer ;)
You got a community installer... you need a personal one :D
Serious question... I'm not dogging you. Is the downloads page not clear?
I have a better understanding now, but I learned the hard way :D
I'd say yes, the page is somewhat unclear - peeps just trying to get started (like me) are going to see the first option and think that's the easiest way. I understand the idea behind having the community account so peeps can just link up to that node and not have to create an account.
However, when you install the community account, it looks like it's taking it from XS . . .
Installing the community installer doesn’t remove the node... It's when people try and register a new account and claim the node information as there’s... that's how it gets moved.Quote:

Okay, I am downloading it right now. A few more weeks and I will be able to go all out, one computer is all the current circutry in the basement can handle (damn). When it says Jeff has 35 nodes, does he actually have 35 computers running D²OL? Or just have 35 instances of it running?
I think just 35 instances
It probably is. With 2 Xeons with HT enabled, that would account as 4 nodes.
The only problem with the node thing is it's easy to loose them. I'd say about half of my nodes are inactive.
I'm loosing the 2x3.30GHz Xeon rig for a little while so I'll be down to the following...
UPDATED: February 17, 2005

I like to call 'em inhouse or outhouse. Unfortunately, in this project, I have no outhouses. :(
Looks like I might get my other 2500+ up and crunching quicker than I thought :) ... should be up sometime next week.. can't wait for the added boost in production.
within 1 week should have:
Athlon XP 2600-M @ 2.4 Ghz (almost 24/7 on weekdays, 24/7 on weekends)
Athlon XP 2500+ @ 2.0 Ghz (24/7)
Athlon XP 2500+ @ 2.2 Ghz (24/7)
Looks like it may be a while before I can get my A64 rig finished and crunching, though :(
That's doing good! You are definitely pumping out some candidates! Excellent!
dual xeons 1.6LV @3.2 soon 24/7
p4 2.0 24/7
^^^^^^
my teammate aka neighbour :P
I might be getting some "teammates" soon too... not sure how many but my daily production may increase sharply
P4 2.4B at 2.8 GHz running 24/7.
I will be adding more rigs as the money comes in.
I only started crunching today!
