while I wouldn't say this is much to add...

knowing this ram can can do cas 2.5-2-2-5 at 240 with only 2.65 volts is extremely good news for people who dont Vdimm mod thier motherboards or use the OCZ DDR booster.
I don't know about you, but cas 2.5-2-2-5 a5 240 with only 2.65 volts is a hell of achievement, and would be worth looking into for people who don't want to run 3 volts into thier ram everyday.

so the ram doesn;t like high voltages, when did high voltages mean the ram was good.

if I can get ram that does 240 at 2.65 volts or 240 at 3.1 volts, to me it's a no brainer ;)

Agreed, I wasn't complaining just commentating so that people didn't extrapolate massive upwards in their minds from my 2.65v figure.

Also, note mine was 256MB only.

I certainly like the memory and hope it beds in well to give me a few more MHz later.

wow, if this is the average difference, then annand has some one of a kind sticks and there is no reason to even bother with these over EB's, although it looks likes Zac's above are doing a bit better timings at 240. In any case disapointing.

edit: maybe you have some bad sticks. this guys 2x512 seem to be fairing much better to a point at least:

Max Vdimm avail on my VNF3-250 is 2.9v so I will start testing using this :) (got my pair of Ballistix 512mb each... PC-3200)
Testing on A64 so timing will start from 2-2-2-11 all the way up to 2.5-x-x-11. Once I think if it is worth keeping it will test on intel board as well.

Well, for $300+ sticks combined with tax, I dunno. On phone with crucial to get RMA number. Any good place to buy OCZ 3700EB? (or 3500EB)... preferably dual stick of total 1GB.

I just bought some PC3700 EB from newegg an hour ago. They are in st:banana::banana::banana::banana: for $329.

I just got a couple and after these reports, already called a RMA before even opening the package. I don't even feel like testing them before sending them back. I think Tony was right. maybe annadtech got the one good week samples for his review.

What's up with the 4000 rev 2 compared with the EB3700's?

Well I actaully emailed the guy who did review at Anandtech (senior editor) and this is what he said.

Heh, or original samsung PC-3200. 4 of them @ DDR 470-480ish 2.5-3-3-7 with 2.8v and 2 of them @ DDR 500+ 2.5-3-3-7 2.8v. Reason why I keep thinking this pair of ballistix I have in hand is ... not too great. (it only cost twice more compared to samsung modules ... or almost:P) As usual, samsung memory doesn't react to voltage past 2.85 volt and can't be knocked down on timing at all... :P

Dang, this 2x512 balistic booted right up at the same timings and speed as the EB3700 was set. 253 3-3-2-1T 5x sync at 2.85volts. Maybe she ain't so bad after all. I'l run Sandra for a while and see if it is stable.

Before I RMA'd them, my 2x512MB PC3200 Ballistix done DDR468 2.5-3-3-8 @2.9v. Was never able to get them stable at their rated DDR400 2-2-2-5.

Crucial are sending replacements, so i'm hoping these will have more headroom.....
