Hi NoOne, I fixed the link, http://img.hexus.net/hexus_pifast.rar works now :)
Rys
thnks man :D
Downloading....
Here's an update to my posted time, now at 2,312Mhz, ram at 185Mhz.
http://www34.pair.com/gleep/71.89.jpg
I feel lame. how do you open/install this program after downloading and getting a desktop icon??????????
f&s
It has no installer so don't feel to bad. Just grab a copy of Winrar And extract the archive to a directory anywhere you like. There should be a batch file in there to run the bench. :)
docah,
thanks a lot! But 83 seconds just won't do!
The STRANGE thing is that I noticed that I have BETTER time when I put the fsb and the Mem at 1:1 in my Pentium4 rig....Maybe after all the 3:4 divider doesn't really works well......
http://www.hipro5.com/public/Benchie...-fast_3560.png
This shot is with CPU and Mem at 1:1 and at 222,5MHz fsb and the Multiplier at 16x (ABIT IT7-Max2 Mobo).....
Here's a new 2700+ @12.5X210 on a KD7 :D

hipro5:
Whats that... *** ERROR in computation *** on the bottom of your screenie mean ;) :p
Very, VERY nice Caprid! :toast:
Now come on all you other 2600+ and 2700+ peeps! ;)
Thanks :)
And thats with just ambient water. Still have five days left for the Prometeia.(I hope). The new AIUGB steppings on the new chips is a nice improvement.
Nice benchie man...:)Quote:

And about (Whats that... *** ERROR in computation *** on the bottom of your screenie mean).....it means that the program could right the final info in pi.txt so you can read it....
Ditto what you said, and I will very soon have some 2600+ massive oc'ing goin on myself ;)Quote:

Just ran it on my nFORCE2 setup... @ 195 x 11.5 -- more than conservative settings and got 66.5... hehehh
Gonna retry @ 200 x 12. BRB!
I just did that and got 63.27 ! Aircooled @ 1.85v!!! Muhahah! Gonna try for 204 x 12 now... wish me luck!Quote:

Nope... not enough voltage. :(Quote:

Best I can get under my current situation... quite impressive, QUITE.
http://www.maximumoc.com/img/hardwar...ifast_6327.jpg
Well the list was updated earlier this evening and all the new scores added :)
People keep pushin the boundaries, we are nearly knocking on the 60 second door with AMD now :D
Nice result sys. :toast:
I just put my 8K9A2+ back in action with my newer 2400 and here's the result...
http://www.adventurevision.com/somep...fast_63-43.gif
Sucky thing is that my hard drive can no longer stand the 235MHz FSB I pushed up it arse previously. :( I'm limited to 221 now... which isn't that bad I guess. ;)
http://www.fewture.cistron.nl/img/pifast.JPG
XP1800+ Tbred @ 12,5 x163. Will try again when I get another mobo..
Switched to an Abit KD7, 2400+ @ 190 x 12.
http://www34.pair.com/gleep/69.66.jpg
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boy. WATCH OUT. Volt mods are completed, gonna shoot for 211 x 12 = 2532mhz ;) I think that's doable :) Wonder how much I'll shave off!
Just took number 1 back :).
I LOVE this new PE chipset Max 2 - supreme board. Still MUCH more to come as well :).
I really need 3.2vmem in bios though - Jupilers link doesnt seem to work. Anyone got a modded bios for it?
PiLsY.
Pilsy did you V2.0 come with a spare BIOS chip?
As I got one with mine!
Also all the results are updated :D
GONE IN 60 SECONDS!
AMD AIRCOOLED NFORCE2 POWA!!!!!!!!!!!!
What else you guys want... compare mine to the other AMD benchies... BIGGITY BAM. And people say the nforce2 sucks. I laugh!
http://www.maximumoc.com/img/hardwar...ondspifast.jpg
Wtf... this nforce has to stop owning. I did nothing but rerun pifast after a reboot and check my score now...
KAIN : Please update with this score rather than the 60.88. The settings are the same. :)
http://www.maximumoc.com/img/hardwar...6059pifast.jpg
Kain - no it didnt m8 :(.
Out of interest which version do you have? What colour are the cap near the cpu and what colour is the PCB? Ive seen 3 different versions now and heard about a 4th?!
Apparently theres one with black caps round the cpu, one with silver, both on a yellow abit pcb. Then you have one with purple caps round the cpu and one with red-brown caps round the cpu on a black pcb (only heard of and not seen this one).
No idea if it makes any difference, but im happy with mine so far (yellow pcb, black caps).
Cmon Sys - first AMD under 60 seconds plz :p.
PiLsY.
I'll check it later as I'm not near it right now, but I guess I just got a lucky free BIOS chip :D £6 free not bad hehe
Sys your result is online :D
As Pilsy said come on under 60secs!!!
So what happened the first time around? Was the memory not working correctly like you suspected?Quote:

At any rate... I don't think people will be saying nForce2 sucks for much longer if these are the kind of results people start getting.
Extremely nice score!!! :toast:
[edit]Just was looking at your score again sys... that is f$#cking awesome man. You are now up in the highly o/c'd P4 range and you aren't even pushing that hard. I can't wait to see you run with some better cooling. Again... :toast:[/edit]
Well, from the first bench to the 2nd, I installed new windows updates (including an AMD cpu windows driver patch). So I geuss that helped some. The memory is working correctly in dual channel though.Quote:

@sys.. :slobber: That is amazing!
I just can't wait to see what the GB DCDDR can do! :D
sub.
I guess the way it works is we manually enter our results into the database URL posted then post the proof here?
Yeah somethin like that ;)Quote:

Shaved .05 off! :P Same settings as above again, 2.08v on the core though and slightly cooler temps.
http://www.maximumoc.com/img/hardwar...6052pifast.jpg
That's some mighty fine shootin there Tex http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/otn/wink/thumb.gif
Does the NForce two board have FSB adjustments over 200?
Edit:
Forget the silly FSB question. Amazing what a little reading will do:rolleyes:
hi guys, please i need direction how to ise hexus (how to set)
I believe you were wanting this? :) More results later today... gonna shoot for 211 x 12.5 (my max the board/cpu will allow).Quote:

Pld m8 :).
Guess what - given up on intel :D. 2700+ and a prometia amd kit are on the way. Just need to decide which nforce board to get.
Looked at the price of the 3.06, and for that i could get the nforce, 2700+ and prometia kit with pocket change still left over.
Does the memory have to be paired? Ive not actually got 2 identical sticks. The closest I have is some generic winbond BH5 and some twinmos with twinmos branded winbond chips. The only others I have are mushkin 3200, hynix 3500 and corsair 3200c2. Any ideas if a combo of any of these will work ok?
PiLsY.
Pocket change = good.....
Well it just says "use memory of the same type for optimal performance" or something to that effect. So I would recommend using similar ram.Quote:

Good to hear of your switch! :)
Just wait until the next update of the PiFast page... it's not mine but I wish it was!!!
AMD + nFoce2 = "I'm not worthy!" :D
Someone else's other than mine!? And faster than 59.53? I must see this!Quote:

If only I could get my chip colder... I could do 211 x 12.5 = 2637mhz.... having trouble hitting that.. temps are way too high.
shush nawty boy :slapass: tis a secret :D
I'll have to let him share it with everyone. But I don't think he'd mind me at least confirming that yes... it's faster than 59 seconds. :eek:Quote:

Yes its faster than 59sec yes its faster than the one in
the snap shot below ;)

And a done deal AMD2400 in Third place :)
http://www.thechimpcage.com/pifast/
Sorry Macci :( :D now imagine what Opps. 2.9G chip could
do in a Asus nForce2 Board :slobber:
Better still Someone get Opp. to send me his chip for free
as I have hit the limit on mine :(
Looks like you AMD Lovers with those new A7N8X's will
be kicking some INTEL AR$3 for a bit looking forward to what
others will get >2638mhz :)
Sorry guys, updated at last :D
Well the top is all change, keep on move guys!
I'll have that AMD score before the week is out :D
2-4-2-2 eh? I never thought to try 4 instead of 5. Maybe I should give that a whirl. Nice job! :)Quote:

It's a shame though that we can't use higher mults than 12.5x... and that means that OPPs chip would max out where yours did @ 2638mhz :\ Or if we can somehow get higher than 211mhz :\
I get 69.38secs with pifast and 49secs with superpi
specs:
XP1800+(tbred)@2230Mhz, Epox 8k5a2+, Twinmos PC3200 with winbond 5ns chips (223Mhz fsb turbo settings 2t)

Yep 2638 is its max stable speed it will not run stable higher
well it will not run PIFAST higher without crashing out :(
I think its at 2.05v but don't quote me on that now, considering
what a stupid thing I did lol yep put heatsinks on mosfets and
never made a mounting point for doing v/core readings:(
Before I enabled the lower multiplers I was posting over 2638
with the 15x default but not stable actually took a few days to
get stable - plus I am not 100% sure I have a perfect air tight
seal in the prommy head - either that or what air is their when it
turns to water is collating on something and shorting the
CPU, its a now and then issue, but the one I think was stopping me getting that 12.5x multiplier @ 211fsb.
Anyway more Seal string has been ordered :D bargin performace
for XP2400 considering there is like a 100pound diff here in the
UK to the next chip up.

Just got this at 3.99ghz. :D
Kick ass ;)
Just sent in a 60.71s. I'm getting closer to that 60s barrier. ;) (cpu speed of 232x11=~2554MHz)
Very Nice Jeff, what HD you have in there? My KD7 is maxing out at 220-223 and I don't think it's the RAM. Got a nice box from UPS today with a Prometeia in it, so I plan on breaking 60 soon :D
I'm just using an old Seagate 2.5Gb drive. I have the bios set to disable UDMA and I also have WinXP set to only use PIO Mode 1(since WinXP seems to override the BIOS). My drive also craps out around 220 if I don't change it's settings.
Got this with my 2400+ at 12,5*215
http://home.no/deadeye/2400+/hexus_216.jpg
hehe...
Good lord.. I was wondering if your post was about a new score :) Totally sick :P I geuss my "moment" where I was in 5th place is now fading away :( *cries*
Extremely nice time but...
"*** ERROR in computation ***" :(
SCCCCCHHHHHHHHWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!
Error? What is that error down there?
The new scores will not be updated until the weekend apart from the few I have done this evening so I can implement the user login script to save myself having to delete entries of identical scores etc.
But will be in fully functioning order on the weekend. You'll all get an e-mail about it :)
P.S. from now on anyone without a valid e-mail address will be unable to use the site. Due to the amount of fake entries I get!
Sorry guys!
Also sorry to anyone who appears to have had their entries deleted, due to one spammer I think some legitimate scores got caught in the deletions :( Gonna make the system a lot more fail safe as well.
here's one without any *errors* ;)
Updated your score cause I'm nice JC :D
heh thanks ;)
did you update the one I submitted?
This one is a tad faster.... but doesnt really need updating, first is first ;)
Yeah I updated your previous number one, cause I was looking their anyhow :D
hehehe great stuff... thanks!
hehe Kain I think you have my score in the wrong position mate....
should be just under gibbos... for a day or so :)
Bah just looked, musta posted it wrong...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark.fa...00fsbx12.5.jpg
My fault, ah well no worries, I'll have that beat in a day or so :D
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark.fa...t%20ownage.jpg
got fed up of being a minor player :D
updated, now the fastest AMD at the chimpcage :D
Please update for me kain...
Nice scores guys :)
Hey Galifrey wouldn't happen to say *** ERROR in computation *** underneath that strategically placed WCPUID screenie would it? ;) :p :p
Hehehe nice fookin score Mark.... now about that error thing.........................;) :p
overheating northbridge
cured it by blowing a fan (sorta) in the side of the case :D
Nidce work galifrey with the Expox board.
I gues you like it ? !
:)
oh YESH!!!!!
Not that I noticed, I did that to shrink the overall graphic to minimum size and include the cpuz showing the clock speed...Quote:

Anyway, I will be trying to beat it tomorrow, so for you suspicisious people I will include the whole thing :D
Heheheh . I've had times where I pushed too far too fast, and got errors b4 it would even run to step 5.
Best so far is a lame old 64.50
I should add here I expect the master aka randi aka mr iceee to spank me by sunday :D
:D
BTW are there any WPcredit tweaks for this chipset floating around yet( NF2)? I see Randi still has them listed in his run at chimp... prolly just forgot to change it.
yay Kains updated the page :D
Nice one Galifrey! :toast:
I just couldnt help myself ;)
Niiiiiice scores JC and Galifrey !!!! Considering AMD chips are running at 1-1.4 gig slower speeds they are crankin' . Can't wait for the Barton and Hammer to come and ramp up........ gonna see Intel in the rearview...........
:D
That's if they don't go bankrupt first ;)
lol, nice JCV...
I had a 54 with mem at 2-4-2-2 but computation had errors :/
Gonna be some time before an AMD is top tho I think...
:toast:
Then again .09 nm is coming for intel.............
When the Barton arrives..the P4 will be crushed bij it.... I am sure of it!Quote:

I just love the competition... makes the prices a little more reasonable........ I hope AMD doesn't totally give up on the speed crown as has been stated.
Randi won't be spanking anyone by Sunday my friends..I'm outta business after a failed Vmem mod. No board for some time to come so you guys will have to hold the torch for awhile.
Randi
HUH? Where you trying to mod vmem the RDA ?
Yep.....8RDA Vmem attempt. If anyone else attempts it I advise extreme caution...I will not give details but to tell you it resulted in the board spinning the fans up but no post, no LED readout amongst other things. The board needs the extra voltage to run 207 and 211 at tight timings without kick back to the desktop in 3DMark....that was my impetus for doing the mod.
Randi
That blows bro.... lets us know how your making out( don't know what your plans are- another 1 ?), as I was waiting on that mod from you.
muzz:)
My plans for a next board are what I was waiting for while playing with the 8RDA+..the Abit NF7-S. At this point it's a waiting game until I get the funds. The EPoX was not a bad board..but 2.9Vmem is not enough for high performance benching. I've done alot of mods but this one is similar to the Abit BD72..except the circuits appear to be different..hence my dead board.I've tried fixing it but it's all done.
Randi
Ah Randi, I feel for you bro, thats axactly what happened to my A78NX....Quote:

Randi
I am not convinced about the tight timings on the mem tho, 2-5-2-2 is fine on mine 2-4-2-2 is a bit much for it... at 2.9v that is...
Can you go much tighter than that??????
Or are you talking WCPedits?
Galifrey my friend:)
Are you talking 1 stick of ram or 2??
Those timings you mention work for most benches. But when I attempted them at 204 and 207Mhz at 2700+Mhz with 2 sticks in Dual Channel mode....I was getting kicked back to the desktop out of 3DMark...which is a classic "not enough mem voltage" issue in 3DMark benching. Now..mind you...the memory I'm running is used to running tight timings on the KX7 and KD7 at 3.25v plus...so that may very well be MY issue as those boards needed alot of voltage to bench 3DMark at 200Mhz with maxed timings. All in all tho...the 8RDA+ is a decent board all around....my next stop will be an NF7-S:)
Randi:D
I havent tried a 3dmark yet, but the pifast was done using 2-4-2-2 at 2.9v on corsair xms3500 v1.1
I think you are right about the nf7s tho, my guuess is it will spank...
Abit just seem to be doing the right things at present, and seeing the teething problems of the asus and epox, they might be doing their reputation a lot of good delaying the release...
whats the voltage options on the abit?
I got my Epox nforce2 board today. At present I only have one stick of RAM and I run a lowly GlobalWin CAKII on it aircooled, yet my Xp2400 trime is pretty good, only second to Mad Jeff in the aircooled AMD stakes :-
http://www.aocb77.dsl.pipex.com/pifast211.jpg
If only I had another stick of memory and this board with give a bigger FSB than 211 !
Regards
Andy
