It simply won't be that much faster. 3k is alot when the difference between them is very very small, the performance difference is just made by the Reg DIMMs on S940...
socket 939 is faster, then we have normal ram, and finally much faster cpus. all 3 factors sir :)

like I said, dont worry, the time will come for #1 in 2001. Position is exchanged often with like 5 top guys vying for first place. Fugger, Oppainter, Macci, Jason and I think a couple other guys have tasted #1 orb in 2001 before. Its basically whoever can get socket 939 first and bench on it thatll be #1 again

S939 = CG cpus wich run a higher CMD (2T), Normal ram won't boost 3Dmark2001 by 3000 pts its not that much faster, we don't know if the cpus will clock much higher then the current ones and even if it does, a few hundred MHz won't on itself give 3k higher score.Quote:

Its a bug in the 3DMARk03 ORB. Once the CPU speed goes above 4.2GHz the ORB shows a CPU MHz value which is 200MHz too low (dont ask me why it does that).Quote:

FUGGER's 9808 was done at over 4.5GHz too and it says 4.3GHz in the ORB.
If you check Mark2001 you'll see that the CPU speed is shown correctly on that one.
And as far as the reported FSB goes it detects the boot up FSB speed.
Futuremark should have an answer soon, they are aware and working on it. Its just a bug in that application calculating CPU speed above 2^32 4.3Ghz. Sandra does the same thing.
It doesnt slow the machine down, software bug.
4.5GHz, thats crazy. Stil, an athlon 64 @ about 3GHz might beat it :D
