Few random PSC testing on Z97 OCF
G Skill 2200 Pi cl7s stability test, heat sinks still on these memory's temps only -110,should improve a little more with colder temps

hi bullant, seems the images you uploaded to postimge.org can not be viewed
No problem with images over here.
He is posting some tight 2800 7.10.7 PSC screens & a frosty pic on the Z97 OCF :slobber:
Not sure if images are any better,I uploaded them again a little different,if they worse ill change them back
Looking forward to your Samsung clocks and results on this board C-N,you'll really like the board
@Bullant: Images are too small now. :)
Can't see the text even after right click, View Image...
I tried a different upload host, maybe better?if not ill revert to the first one again.
Hi Both those runs are about 2.13-2.15v,the Gskill Pi 2200 kit still have the HS on @ only -110,taking HS of them and getting temps down to say -160 should improve them a little more (tighter )
Here is a G Skill Pi 2000 cl6 kit I have been working on @ these timings, temps -160 2.18v ,not 32m stable yet

mine arrived today :D

someone can do an youtube unboxing?
this board still not avaliable in europe :S
and 0 unboxings in youtube
Let me look that up on google :D - Unboxing as in opening the box showing there's a motherboard inside? :cat:
Haven't gotten to opening my stuff yet, I'll point my camera that way.
EDIT: Well there we go!

Now excuse me for the next few hours :)
EDIT2: @psychopath So I did film opening the box :yepp: :D For your enjoyment: http://youtu.be/AYo87gDuheA
you unboxing sux very much xD
you need to speak and talk about the features and show all details of the motherborad :|
but thanks anyway
Psychopath the board came available accross europe on friday, I bought one and a 4790k on friday.
You can see it yourself here: http://geizhals.at/eu/asrock-z97-oc-...-a1111201.html
hey guys try 2666 8-11-11 with samsung :P
Any new betabios for this board?

The bull going hard!
Z97 OCF going hard lol, board benched for hours great
quick burn-in on air. while there's certainly better 4790k out there, board keeps it going.
http://abload.de/img/4500_fullcustom_1230_fpjyb.png
looks solid, whats ram at?
Pretty much standard 2666 10-12-12. Not trying to induce too many sources of failure in a 21 hour custom run on a new platform ;)
1 thing at a time for sure
Got Z97M OC Formula today and i am kinda disappointed.
it is no small form factor sister of the big one like the one with Z87 Chipset
hybrid VRM, no LLC Levels, and some other things missing > back to sender.
Z97M OC formula is an eunuch edition and i will return it. :shakes:
should have read the thread first man
Post #30
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=1#post5232389
The M is not a bad board though, I watched Zero-Dan run 6-10-6 2666 on frozen PSC on it :)
Get the NEW OCF skin on cpuid here :)
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z...r-setup-en.exe
Yeah probably should have ... will have a Asus Gene VII soon ... gotto stick to matx.
The ASRock Z97 OC Formula is in stock at Newegg currently.

New bios . Support AES enabled and Disabled .
Btw. I don't have any special bios for OC . "Official bios" enabled all options & oc functions.:welcome:
I have this board in my cart but I was wondering if anybody has some active suggestions for memory. I have been struggling with decent memory for awhile.. Anyway TIA I will be up and running soon..
After research I think I'm going to get the Team 2666 thoughts?
Some PSC on air and cpu on water, little bit over on the 4003 cap but efficiency looking good
http://i62.tinypic.com/260aeko.png
hmm, interesting, wonder why my multi seems locked according to cpuz vs yours. even though im using the Z97M OCF, in not looking to go extreme, my multi range in cpuz shows 8-32x on my G3258. even when the bios shows on the main tab a clock speed of 4.28ghz for the set 42x multi, get into windows and it shows 3.26ghz in cpuz/realtemp/coretemp with a current 32x multi.

Second 4790K, much better than the first.
Pretty sure there is more gas in the tank, will retest with cold PSC and see where we end up :)

Dat TS8000!
Retail board looks great, glad yours showed up today :)
### Edit ###
Disregard.. no longer an issue
How good is the Z97M OCF? Anyone got a chance to try it out yet? I cannot find any reviews on the darn motherboard.
For some reason, there aren't a lot of reviews on Z97 boards this time around. Perhaps because a new generation of CPUs weren't released with it.
Holy Grail IMC!
For all the naysayers, it's always been about IMC strength and this further strengthens all evidence that ic quality is equally important as the former.
My 2400 c8's have never been able to do this, EVER and on this chip I can loop 32M, with waza all day. Prime candidate for 2800 c6 I think.
vdimm was set at 1.92v in bios

Before buying the motherboard Asrock Z97 OC Formula, I need a piece of information.
I have just read the manual and it is said that PCI-Express slots 1 and 2 must be used for 2 graphic cards. But page 19, I quote : "PCIE4 (PCIe 3.0 x16 slot) is used for PCI Express x8 lane width graphics cards"
Since the PCI Express 4 slot supports x8 lanes, can the 2nd graphic card be inserted in the PCIE4 slot ? In this case, does it work at x8 ?
It is important for me since I am watercooling 2 290X cards and the PCIE2 slot will be too close from the PCIE1 slot.
Yeah, you should be fine overclock. I like the asrock z97 board, just need to find better efficiency and get higher mem and 6m can be passed.

Played around with G3258 the other day, pretty fun for $70! Board is very efficient of course :)

Oh and 01 isnt bad either :D legacy tweak enabled and card on air!

Nice Splave, the board is awesome 3D and 2D super efficient, just waiting on a couple of those Pentium myself and a new 4790k to try then should be able to post some more myself
Anyone else having trouble getting TWRWRDR to post (consistently) below 8? I'm seeing this with the two Samsung kits I've got, CMD8GX3M2A2133C9 and CMD16GX3M4A2666C10.
what voltage?
Between 1.85 and 1.65V, that's all I tried. Feels like erratic behavior - most times it'll give me an 'overclocking failed' repeatedly. I can make it post by switching back and forth between tWRWR_dr 8 and 4 and but again it will fail after a few reboots without having changed any settings.
Edit: Did this yesterday. Took me a few tries to post tWRWR_dr 4 before running 32m. Right now all I can to is load that very profile set tWRWR_dr 8 and then boot up.

Hi there!
After a few years, just read along here I am also registered here. :)
The Z97 is now my third mainboard out of line and I'm very happy with it.
@ aerotracks
So we meet again. ;)

Heinrich
Hey guys i know that the Z97M aint for LN2, i still didnt test it, anyone did on water cooled CPU and see how it clocks CPU and MEM ?
Cheers and Congrats for the AWESOME RESULTS
Sergio
Raised those values as well as setting them on auto - sometimes it'll post, most times 'overclocking failed'.
Tested tRDWR + dd + dr to 13?
Let me check that out. Thanks for helping :)
Edit: Nope, 13s with tWRWR_dr 4 failed too.
try 1.98vDimm :)
IMC test with a G3258, 4000 Mhz Core - 4000 MHz Cache, 2x 4GB G.Skill F3-TridentX 2400C9Q-16GTXD. The CPU is water cooled, Ram Air Cooled.

imcs are on average very nice on those CPUs isnt it :)
Stability testing some PSC cl7 twcl8 fairly tight subs, memory on air 1.89v,was also nearly passing 2740Mhz
CPU used is my gem chip with wounded imc, waiting on new chip to arrive next week
http://i62.tinypic.com/n6xdlf.png
Just average, oh..... ;)
I want to try to get a little higher with the CPU clock, unfortunately the Pentiums are require a relatively high Vcore. There is currently very warm here (up to 35 Degrees outside), so I have to wait a bit longer. :D

No boot with tWRWR_dr < 8 with 1.98VDimm.
http://abload.de/img/1_98vbnqia.png
Just getting 32M to pass not exactly a walk in the park, needs lots of volts  Efficiency not looking so good either, 1.5sec slower than 2666C9.
http://abload.de/img/4500_6_49_690vrk25.png
windows 7 requires far more volts than xp due to more memory involved. You should get them at 2V in xp i believe...is twrwr_dr to 5 not working?
Re binning my ram on the good IMC cpu is yielding interesting results:)

are those two killer mobo better with overclocking? Shall I return my Z97 OCF?
Loud.....trying so hard .....gogogogo ...
you rocks loud
Some Pentium fun,cpu water and memory -10, 1.96v,should be nice once cold on cpu and full cold on the memory's
http://i57.tinypic.com/r8iikj.png
Is it just me or TRP is crippled with Z97 and PSC ic's?Much much easier to run it 7 at 2666+ on Z97 than on Z87.Never had the pleasure of playing with Z97 formula since it's availability sucks big time in our region of Europe, hopefully it will arrive one day tough...
Thanks Loud
Some more Pentium stability testing, switched to different memory's and different CPU
Should have some LN2 soon to start testing cold, been one month without it
