I already tested with two other Titans. They're working fine on the same test bench. Funny that the defective one has the newest serial number and little Torx T6 screws instead of Phillips heads.

Just make your usb stick dos bootable.
Put NVFLASH on it and flash with nvflash -5 -6 xxx.rom

Can run up to 1296 60% of the time with clocks going as low as 1189.
tried with pt mods but after vmod i had bad throttle i took them off and put the bios from cryptik just to see
how that was.

Yeah I have 3 for a short time, I'm selling the 3rd one. We still have no stock here after the initial run sold out and although it's better for Crysis 3 to have 3 no way can I justify the price.
Really sucks about the throttling! There must be hardmod that can be done to reduce the power draw the card is seeing, but the odd thing is they seem to be throttling earlier than theyre supposed to and no matter where you slide the TDP or temp slider it makes no difference, people are getting throttling at 60*C at 90% TDP - ManuelG from NVIDIA says they have reproduced the problem over on Geforce forums, hopefully a new bios can fix it, so that may help too.

Cowie - are you on stock cooler or water? If you find a bios that gives a voltage bump and still downclocks 2D I will try it, I have an EK VGA supreme in my loop waiting to go on. Two nights ago I benched easily at +200 but last night it would lock up or bsod at +180 so maybe lower temps will make it more consistant.

I can now say for sure that these cards aren't hardware capped. I just hit a 125% power limit, my ups seems to back up those claims.

I first had a GTX 580 and had no problems. I upgraded to Geforce Titan, even used drive sweeper, and only installed the newer drivers. I can't get rid of this problem. On average it happens every 5 hours or so.
I monitored my videocard and it's not getting too hot or anything. It's also not overclocked. Is this a HW problem or SW?

I'm using a modded bios that I got from OCN, the one that Napalm linked. It supposedly has a vgpu of 1.21v. The bios had 115% power limit by default and my card was hitting that and throttling. So I bumped it up with Kepler bios tweaker to 135%. Now it hits 125%. I saw someone on OCN mention that at 1.21v in software that he read 1.26v or so with a dmm. So my card may be doing something similar.Quote:

Cowie - I already have a universal gpu block in my loop as I thought I would be able to keep using it over a few gpu changes and it works well, but I leave the stock backing plate on to cool vrms etc. Yesterday I decided to remove the cooler and fit my block but one of the Allen head cover screw seems to be rounded out, I undid a few but I can't get any bite on this one, has anyone else found this? Or do you just remove everything together via the Philips head screws through the pcb?
While this card pumps the scores it seems to me that it doesn't do that well in BF3, I get erratic fps anywhere from 85-170 (on 120hz screen) and that's on high !! I am sure my 680 Lightning pushed more than that on ultra. I have not tried ultra with Titan yet, I'm still using the settings I used with the 670 I just sold, but at the same settings it doesn't feel much better.... Odd indeed.

So how does 1080 at 120hz compare to 1600p ? It would be a similar load right? So maybe what I am seeing is real? I played at +100 last night and got the device lost error, I think this thing really needs water ASAP.
No I didn't round the screw, no tool I inserted would get any bite at all, as if it was already rounded out.
