Very good score Raja, what is that ocz bbse memory?
Fast run with m5g there raja
A DDR3-2400 kit, not sure they ever released it. I got sent it while I was still writing for Anandtech to test. Shortly after I got these modules, OCZ pulled out of the memory market. I will grab a CPU-Z of the SPD for you when this stuff is dry and ready to boot again.
EDIT: PN on heat-spreader OCZ3B2400LV4GK
Very good memory, thanks for info...
These DIMMs are okay, but not so good at CAS 8 as the GSkill BBSE these guys are using on air. If they chill it down they should get another 25-50 MHz out of the DIMMs which should put them below 6m19s on a good run.
Very nice fester :D

Thanks guys,
@ transam, dude your a funny man, your vids always make me laugh dude, I hope 1 day i can afford to come to USA and meet you dude.
This run took 5 hours to get right I think maybe a better waza can get into 18s zone, I think maybe sub zero Hynix or BBSE can do better.
A litl bit better :)

Are you guys installing the Intel Management Engine? When I try and install it in XP I get an error saying my system doesnt meet the requirements.
Cant for the life of me figure out why my times are much slower in XP, around 15 seconds slower in XP vs w7.
Ive tried using a stripped XP, also a retail, both are slow.
Yup installs just fine here on tinyxp...did you do chipset drivers?
gotta have ME if you want to control the bclock
works ok here
Thanks
Installed chipset driver, and trying to install management engine but keep getting error. Third time installing XP, will give it one more shot.
Getting 6m45s in XP Pro, 6m30ish in w7, first loop in XP is 5.569s , 2x4gb@2600 9-12-12.
Is it service pack 3 just out of interest or earlier
Sounds like something drastically off. Try installing at slower mem and CPU speed when I was instable it failed to install
Just installed it again, this time everything installed ok, chipset driver, ME, but times are the same, or worse.
Last install was SP3, this time quick install, stripped OS, tried different memory also, 2x2gb PI's but times get even slower. Never had this issue before, used this same OS on P67/Z68.
Trying this for 3 nights now, I have been unable to get one score worth posting. I dont even like 32m
Large system cache enabled?
Uncle that is music to my ears man. I'll never forget the 1st time i saw you bench. I think it was 2 years ago you were benching 980x's and 580's at the time and you killed like 8 980s or something. Anyway it was a live stream bench you set up and you were drinking Rum the whole time and I think I was doing beers. and I kept pushing you to drink more rum which looking back now I think i was the one that killed the session. Anyway I never told you this story.
I was at work (NYC) on Friday afternoon and my co worker and I were watching you in the office computer and then we left for lunch. We went to this sushi restaurant we always go to on fridays. and we asked the owner of the restaurant to hook up the laptop to the karaoke monitor. Like 1 meter x 1 meter. And yoly and I and everyone else in the restaurant were watching you bench at this japanese rest. in midtown manhattan with a bunch of japanese businessmen and midtown douche bags. but I made them all watch that sesh. and it was so rad. I think you were benching 2001 and it was really late at night in your timezone but for us it was like 12 noon.
You finally called it quits and I ended up benching clarksdale that night afterward/ I remember how calm and cool you were when everything was going badly. I just saw the patience and when most of us would've said screw it and tossed the session hours ago, you kept your head aligned and kept going until the board froze and the left ram slots stopped working and then you threw the towel and called it.
dude its been 2 years since the run in the japanese sushi lunch but if you are as patient now as you were then, you can definitely pull this off. is your gskll pi kit the F317600CL7D-4GBPIS (PSC) 1st batches from the japanese bench sesh?
dude please keep the vids going if you are going to go for 6:18.
I just watched the vid I made of your run again and that part when that dude crowd surfing doing the air guitar when the song kicks in is so kick ass! I hope you realize how much is on the line.. All my money is on you Uncle! You gotta nail this man.
what the hell is this thread again? Oh yeah 32m sorry guys. I got carried away. the crowd surfer playing air guitar @ 0.32 lost my train of thought. I've made a ton of vids but this one has a spot closer to my heart than the other ones. 3 reasons. // 1. its fester, 2. its acdc burning alive, 3. the guy crowd surfing playing air guitar. crowd surfing during a massive acdc show is one thing.....yeah its rad but whatever its just crowd surfing, then take into account its a major arena show, then you have some f-cker going the extra mile and gets on the shoulders of everyone else and plays air guitar and rocks even harder on air guitar than the headlining band everyone came to see. it makes the regular crowd surfers look like a bunch of rollerbladers at a skateboard park.
To sum it up:
Fester is the black sheep of the AU pack that sits back and when everyone else is laying on their stomachs crowd surfing during the ac/dc concert he just comes creeping out of nowhere and gets on the shoulders of everyone else and rips out some air guitar and blows everyone away.
^ are you a writer? if not should be :)
You described fester perfectly (you forgot to mention it was an indoor concert and festicles was wearing dark sunnies too!) :D
TeamAU have had so many sessions and always mention you for the right reasons (and MBeier > for the wrong reasons). We are your biggest fan dude :D, rock on!
hahah Japanese restaurant bench session live (hilarious!)
If I knew the basic tweaks I wouldve set them :D
I played around with it last year when SB was new, but pretty much gave up, forgot the few tweaks I was trying to learn, and went back to old 3d benches. Cant believe how much time can be spend just on this benchmark. Trying the copywaza/cdt thing, my time got worse , with no cdt I get 6m30s in xp, with cdt getting 6m31s:confused:
My entry is postponed :)
I got myself a chip that wont make 4600mhz stable, and wont pass 1200mhz(cpu-z) ram.... 1000mhz benchable on IMC...
Ivy is really something, I truely agree with DrWho, it is the best thing since sliced bread....... If only we knew how freaking awesome it would be, and not pay attention to all those huge sinners that leaked, and all got sued into hell, ofc.... If only!!! Then the light would be brighter and we would know that these things are better than Chuck Norris on bacon!
Untill I am in your avatar, I dont believe you!!!! Y u hurt ma feelingz?
trans you definatly picked the weird/strangest guy from team au to follow, just look at the guy, its the middle of the night, hes inside and hes wearing sun glasses, not only that, he wasn't happy with the tallest tek9 ever made, he had to put a paper extension on it that makes it 2 inches taller, but strangely there is not even a bigger gap to pour into,
thats just the sort of guy fester is, he does weird :banana::banana::banana: and for no reason, top bloke!
Is there a trick to running 8-11-7 with bbse or is mine all sh1t, 8-12-8
Someone want to list the basic tweaks for a clueless,n00b? :D
OS:
1. For your own sake (unless you know what you are doing), pick a tinyXP OS
2. LSC, Large System Cache
3. Affinity, bind benchmark to a thread, and make it high priority or real time - result is likely to be same, except realtime is more likely to cause crash (in my experience)
4. Cpt. obvious; Disable pause screen :p:
5. Have 2 partitions on the OS, you'll need it for CW (Copy Waza)
The most obvious none OS tweaks are;
Max out ram
Use right BIOS, some motherboards sucks for effeciency, especially the cheap ones.... I cannot recommend GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 for benching, while the (accept that challenge DINO!!!)
More complex OS tweaks:
maxmem
pagefile
manual copy waza
registry tweaks in generel (I only do ram settings myself in registry...)
msconfig, no - dont do diagnostic... Manually disable all the crap you wont need...
Other tiny tweaks;
16K run a couple of times prior to your actual run..... BUT; A new folder with SuperPi beats that (Sure I am picking a fight with everyone on that...)
--- There are a heck of alot more tweaks, but those are the basics and should be a very decent start for you, also, use OCX Tweaker for Copy Waza, untill you figure how to do it better manually yourself.

at least Charles beat zeneffect's 6'33 lol, can't wait for Dave to beat Charles :p
Splave,
The trick for me was finding out the EXACT timings my sticks liked. for instance if tfaw is too loose, then no boot, if trfc is too lose no boot. then there is the issue with the memory dividers.... 2666 no boot even c9... 2600 its happy even when increasing bclk. mabye its my weird sticks, but it seems like you have picky ram yourself.
im running tfaw 20, trfc 97 (2650ish mhz on the memory). if i dont set those 2 settings to exactly that, it wont post or boot. 51 error. im also on a beta bios so that might be part of what im experiencing, however im more inclined to think its an overall combination of factors... board, bios, memory, cpu, overclocker, and ambient temps... more ambient temps than anything else.... i watch molten rivers of lead from my window as demons hop up and down. yes, los angeles is as hot as hell. satan says hi.
@ honda- hey, i improved that time to 6:29! i expect we will see a 6:19 from charles if he continues to use the same sticks.
Does it work alright on TinyXP? I could never get it to run on TinyXP, and it never would start on Win7 64-bit.
I have always ended up doing manual waza, ~1GB, haven't had the time to test different.
When doing copy waza / CDT you need to look at the system cache in Task Manager, it should go way up above available ram...then after it is over, you usually have a wait period of about 30-40s where your free ram will come back up and get closer to your cache, when it stops changing then you run Pi.

took a total of 8 hours before tried switching fans to molex adapters instead of off mobo headers... then it passed on the 1st try. odd, but i will take it. will re-test with better waza and mabye timings (if the sticks will allow me now) later. its time to enjoy a very nice sunday.
im waiting for pro to post up and shame us all. this thread is pretty fun :)
Great run! And good that Fugger is back in the first spot with you moving out of the way! How about anyone getting passed by fugger is not allowed to post in this thread anymore?

*zeneffect is using gigabyte. not all motherboards have that functionality hence not necessary.
gigabyte and memtweakit works fine together and subs info really usefull

Nice time Gungstar, shaved past mine. I am not sure mine has any headroom left at CAS 9; 8 is a no go. :)
Yep, Cas 8 = no no. tRCD row latch time needs to be under 8 ns unless up memory controller frequency (to improve L3 access times and tBurst) ;) And these sticks won't do it. It's up to you guys now with the good CAS 8 stuff to hit under the 6m19s mark. :)
BTW on our boards many of the timings that show less than 4 clocks will default to 4 if you run them lower (tRRD as an example). That is because a burst is 4 clocks in length, so another ACT cannot be sent until 4 clocks have elapsed.
tried old good win 2k3sp0 with ivy, but cpu multi not up higher than 35 in OS. no matter what it set in bios
maybe someone can explain how fix it. sorry for OFF
gungstar try installing intel ME, it should work fine then
Multi works fine here with ud5h 2003 sp0 without me.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...n22976/gtl.jpg
gtl screen from windows 7. same timings for 102bclk... just booted win7 instead of xp and took screenie. im not 100% sure if GTL will work on my stripped XP.
i dont see why this really matters though... sub timings are kit specific and 90% of the timings cant be copied from one kit to another to try to match speed + timing.
...awaiting dino's bbse response since i think he has it figured out that the debug post led sometimes lies. :)
GTL works on stripped XP, for me at least. maybe i am not stripped enough lol.
i had mentioned that im not 100% sure... to be honest, i never even bothered installing it on XP as im doing my tuning in windows 7 x64 while chatting on skype, blasting music, watching movies, posting up on xs, etc etc etc. i remember in the past i got some asus turbo-v working so im willing to bet gtl will work, but since i reboot after a failed 32m... i didnt see a need to actually install it.
