What will a Lightning do then? I cant wait.
:D
How soon? The game with these cards seems to be the ability to adjust base clock & turbo boost. Be cool if a more open card with a open BIOS that one could make changes to.
I'll get two palit jetstream 4gb on Saturday!

Hey mate, you play games at 1.576v ??
:)
thanks man
no i have a fan over them, CPU is watercooled yes

Are there bios clocks limits on the reference cards? +150 Core passes Heaven dx11 with stock voltage.....then all the way up to +180mv fails at +155 Core.
This is with MSI twin FRZ 1059mhz Core stock
http://i.imgur.com/sGmgM.png
^ wont do 1mhz higher than this, which is at stock voltage even if I max out voltage in AB. Temps dont go over high 40c's
THAT's the card I'm waiting for... or something in that range that can fit a nice waterblock.
Highest I tried with 3DM11, 1260/3444:
GPU Score of 10808
My card was rock stable at 1296/3444, I know because I played a butt ton of BF3 at those clocks for around 8hrs straight and forgot I left it at that, Vsync off obviously.
Kinda miss it, but need moar voltage!
sorry but.....
http://videocardz.com/31737/inno3d-i...x-680-pictured
that cards already trip to they're max volts with dynamic boost tech, wich is 1,175
some non reference like zotac etc would do better but cards are implemented with more phases etc...max OC i see its here take a look

cheers
Sergio
^ Thanks! can you explain the % ? i looks like %132 is working best but I dont know what that means
yes Splave you need to put 132% power as you can put the volts you want on this cards, 132% means = USE ALL THE POWER then put the clocks and try, if you are on SLI please DONT use SYNC cards...also keep in mind that PRECISION X 3.02 has a bug, so for now just use 3.01 if you want ot use 3.02 EVGA posted a hotfix
links here

any doubt feel free to ask
cheers !
Sergio
Bring on these high performance models, woohoo
:D
Awesome,I will look into locating some but I want one with maybe more pwms and maybe less throttling and voltage limits etc, manual overrides like lightning would be mad...
Can you buy them for me because yours always clock well
:D
Lightning will be the way to go I am sure.
Zotac reference board at 1343Mhz core, still stock cooled fan at 85%.
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8834/3d1b.jpg
Afterburner allows up to %200 power target, this is not necessary though?
u sure on this QuadD ?
from what i understand max volts are already given to the card
http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1523026
cheers !
Sergio
I said "IF", my friend. *IF*.
By the way I'm with this guy sourtimes9. I'd also prefer having fixed clocks and voltage.
Hey sergio, what's up with the Lucid MVP i've only been using it for a couple of days and it says here my "license has expired". Any "unlocked" version you know of? Will installing a newer build over the old one work?
QuadDamage - how does 1058+210=1343?? Or does yours turbo clock to 1133 stock?
:)
I'm not sure man, something is messed up apparently... Everything adds up nicely when i apply the clocks but when i run 3D both GPU-Z and Precision X show 1343.9? I don't know maybe 132% power boosts the core clock.
Also running 3DMark with the default screen display mode "centered" checked seems to lock the framerate at 60 v-synced but when you choose "stretched" the fps goes much higher ~70+
check this out man. +100 which should be 1106Mhz now look at the actual speed.
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/9050/uniwo.jpg
Mine, water cooled, overclocked
i can confirm that annoyance with 3dmark11, caused me a few hundred points for a while there.
for the actual overclock, dont think too much about it. as you can see even in unigene using only ~105% of the tdp your actual clocks are jumping around alot. if you max out your fan speed you should see that number stabilize near your max actual OC, which is a little over 100 over base+offset
Cool. I only had this card for a couple of days and haven't really had time to play around with it yet. BTW, my score is with 60fps "cap".
Jeez anyone know when stocks of these things might pick up? A local PC store has models 5 listed but they are all out of stock, newegg has 11 models listed and all out of stock .....
Edit: OCUK has stock of some lines but look how many are still out of stock, EVGA Hydro-Copper and 4GB FTW have an of ETA: 27/04/12, so maybe things will improve in a couple of weeks.
Edit: Phantom 4GB is due ETA: 18/04/12 so that will be great too.
Prices are a killer unless we can avoid VAT.....
I just gave up waiting and pjcked up an evga GTX 580 with an EK water block and backplate for 300 plus ship.ill probably pick up a w/c 680 classified eventually
Here I leave my results with two ASUS GTX 680 and i7 3960X to 5.1 Ghz
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/6...corsli3d11.png
http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1...vantagesli.png
Is it common for a i7 3960X to reach 5.1GHz?
Nice score mate, that is my goal too but I see I will not do it with Ivy..... 17000 CPU score is very nice
:D
I see EVGA 4GB 680 ETA is now 4th of May .... can anyone confirm any real dates (and prices)?
Have you guys seen the EVGA Hydros on ebay? One is asking $1299 .....
:D
Everyone is using the ROG skin for CPU-Z/GPU-Z...really hard to read anything from a resized image! :(
so does amount of boost rely on solely on temperature? or the percentage that you set in overclocking programs? or both
Hey Splave for my experience that aint big i have this cards since 2 weeks, i see some variations for ex mines are stable most of the time on +196 +540 and sometimes +200 but i dont know why as cards run very cool and have a sanyo denki san ace pointing to them, dunno when they throotle or when, i just know that
i read also that we are limited by 2x PCIe connectors, as SC ones are 8pin + 6 wich allows more power, my guess is that for me that i game and bench for fun its good the reference one, but if you are looking for extra points maybe grab this lasts ones is your best choice
good luck
cheers !
Sergio
is there a review for the evga SC?
my RMA was finally finished and they gave me a refund. so now im questioning if i should pick up one of those if the VRM section is stronger and overclocks better.
i still have the water block installed on my loop cause its just not worth the effort to remove it and then again re-install it later.
what are you goals manicdan? 1150mhz core vs 1250mhz core didnt seem to make a huge difference to me
well the problem as ive been reading is that all reference based cards are still hardware limited to 1.175v
so i might not even care about the signature.
my last gpu before it killed itself did 1300ish on the core (all numbers are checked through precision or gpuz in games, not the value set). however it seems that almost anyone is being limited by the voltage. some chips are good overclockers and hit 1300+, others seem to crap out under 1200. if there was a way for people to not be so limited then we would see where cores really get limited at instead of just seeing them all being voltage limited.
at this point i think im just going to pick up the first 500$ 680 that comes into stock and just deal with it. although im probably going to stick with asus/evga or zotac. any opinions on what brands i should get or avoid?
Are you comfortable with a soldering iron? ;) I totally agree though, let these babies eat some volts! 45c in 3d11 on the twin frzr max load temp, I think it could handle a little more than 1.175v ;)
yes, i did a volt mod on a 9800 pro cooled by a 228w peltier
however 500$ is not "playing around" money any more
i read before that maybe it was possible to give it fake vid IDs with a custom bios, but im still waiting on that ship to also sink.
the perf for 500$ is fine, but the lack of fun makes me feel so un-xtreme.
i could sell the waterblock used, and probably for full price cause of how many people want one. and then just wait another month for non-reference cards and blocks. but i doubt that would give me any better perf/dollar, but it would be nice for 1500+ mhz on water.
Here is the best I could muster with Twin FRZR
http://i.imgur.com/lUNgv.jpg
Max temp is 45c lmao really nice stock cooler on it, hooked it up with water and still wouldnt budge anything over 1274mhz would lock up even while load temps were 34c.
I'll slap a vmod on it right now and see if that helps anything.
This is what I want to see because I will do the same to mine but with water cooling.
:D
Some picture please :yepp:Quote:

Anyone see this crash before:
http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...vega/Crash.jpg
I'm getting that in all games now. Pretty much have tried everything, set system overclock to default, removed precision X and ran GPU's at default, default NVIDIA control panel options, ran 4-way SLI, 1 GPU, Surround Mode, Single display mode, tried drivers: 301.10, 301.24, 301.25, PCI-E 2.0 mode, PCI-E 3.0 mode. They all crash. Wonder if those stupid multiple Direct X installs that Steam does every time a new game is installed screwed something up. Gah I don't feel like re-installing windows again.
sooo did the vGPU mod, and got +200 to pass on stock msi clocks of 1059mhz but scored the same. Need to do Power limit mods. Will try again this afternoon.
Same clocks more or less but with "stretched" screen. Looks like I'm voltage limited, temps are ok-ish for stock cooling i guess. I'm thinking water alone won't help much unless i go water+hard vmod.
Gotta love Zotac. EDIT : Splave, what VR did you use for vmod? I'm guessing you did only VGPU right?
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/4114/3d2u.jpg
@splave, you shouldnt need to force a higher power target unless you see it capped out at 132% and then also see it throttle clocks down.
are you watching the precision x graphs as you benchmark? they are super useful for knowing exactly whats happening to the card.
Hi! How to unlock the voltage and power consumption?
*my result
Attachment 125428
You already did. You've cranked up the volts to the maximum - the first slider. You're only at +100 on the gpu so you prolly don't need extra juice at all.
that sounds really low
as long as your under 70c and 132% you should be using max turbo which for your OC would have been low 1300mhz
take some photos for us pls!

here is pic of mod area and 1 of the power limit shorts as well

I like to take apart sata cables for mod wire :D Small copper wire coated in paraffin wax. No need to strip the cables, just heat the end a bit the wire reveals itself.
Awesome thanks dude. :D I should have some 1 and 5k VR's laying around.
Nice work Splave, we eagerly await the results.
:D
Guys check this out....looks like reference but it isn't. Even it's something more rafinated.

It looks to damn classy...damn if the reference GTX 680 would have been this
my replacement card is in, so hopefully this weekend i get my overclock sorted out
1372mhz highest I tried on msi twin frzr card on stock cooler. 1.42vGPu

Will see if any gains on water now.
3D11 too please Splave
:D
Briefcase PC is back in full force
right now i just have a light OC, 175+ on the core, and 300+ on the memory.

^ Thats awesome dude
guys i am in decision between single HD7970 or single GTX680
(VGA Water cooling)
which card should give me more score on 3DMark ? (both card max OC on water)
for 3d11 probably 7970 cause you can turn off tessellation
Splave this is dumb answer. AMD is cheating with tess. off. 680 is faster in 3DM11. End of story.
i hope no one gets mad if i ask, who cares about 3dmark11 scores
these cards vary greatly with each game. i would go with the one that better handles the engine your favorite games are made from
but he might just be an OCer and not a gamer.
I didn't mean to offend you ;)
But you are wrong :P
Well besides the tess slider for heaven and 3d11 which are faster on a 7980 because of it....
680 is weak in dx9 benches even compared to 580.on 680 03 not will run max clocks too well..you can get more better scores on a cooled and modded 580...06 o5 are not bad on the on the 680 but still seems of
Under simple tests with both clocked on air
7980 wins
heaven
3d11
vantage
3d03
3d05
3d06
01 and am3 not sure but i'd say it dont matter you can use a 580 or other card
thats how i see it(no offence to kp and tin) but the 680 is a gamers card,680 may be better at games then a card that has a bigger bus more ram but ot so much benches.....drivers for the older benches i think is not like it was on 480
AMD should add option for disabling everything! If it is available in the ccc then it is allowed.
Sarcasm off
