Why not get one of the magnetic/ionic based ones where the filters are just metal you wipe clean?
Printable View
lol ...
as i said i spent more money on air cleaning then i spent on electricity.
And i got tired of it :
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0802.jpg
ionizers suck hardcore.
There great at killing order, but dust, lint, and other stuff, is nightmares on the unit.
If it picks up too much without maintaince.. it starts to crackle even.
Day2 of ghetto dust box... and its working good u guys...
Having it at the floor is better then the middle, as the dust cant even settle on the floor now.
so far im recommending these guys if ur bored and have dust conditions near severity as me.
So some updates i got completed on the weekend.
The RMA 580 came, and its installed.
The internals for the loop looks like this:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0803.jpg
Here is the front panel, i am changing those thumb screws to blingy anodized ones when i get them from fastners express.
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0806.jpg
The Delta's on each loop is as displayed.
1: Ambient at front core
2: CPU water loop Temp
3: GPU water loop Temp
4: Board water loop Temp
Then its the KL 402 Bay res, followed by my SSD Rack, then an optical.
Futon is completed.. i think... lol..
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0808.jpg
I may replace that fan controller with something smaller, as i just need 1 port, with high wattage..
I have a scythe inside that bay also giving me my heatercore temps.
Basically the temps inside the heater cores:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0809.jpg
As u can see, i love control. So i know if something is just OFF, or completely wrong.
And i still need to sleeve + fix the other side:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0807.jpg
That's the RP-452 sitting on the floor.
There you have it 6 pumps (4 x DDC + 2 D5) .. tri loop system.
Do i get cake for the largest system displayed so far? :D
Anyhow:
Koolance - Wednesday
PPC - Hopefully Wendesday
Next week - Completion, as that ppc order should be the last.
Really want to get a start on building mine - your stacks are such an inspiration :D
NaeKuh,
How do you keep track of everything?
OCD!!! lol...
Seriously tho...
Tri monitor systems makes things very nice..
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_0619.jpg
Typical usage.. the left one will have HWMonitor + Realtemp GT + MSI Afterburner up.
That way i can see initially from my internal diodes.
Then if i see something is wrong... i can go by sensors.
If sensors are reporting below ambient.. then my sensors are fubared... (back to where i was when is started)
But i recalibrate all my sensors as well as replaced all of them, working or bad, so they should be good for 3-6months, b4 they start acting up again.
NaeKuh,
You never cease to amaze!
BTW, how are you doing with the 990x?
as in clock?
She's always been @ 4.4 /w HT ON @ 1.339 vcore. :T
And temp wise?
Ummm... my Cpu thinks its a god or something, cuz i can never get it to not idle below water temp.
infact as i type this.. all but 2 cores are idling below ambient.
But im not complaining, as its been "testing" for a very long time now... :P
Okay ... enuff procrastinatin' ... let's see some sleeving!
Am I correct in saying that basically you're using that Scythe fancontroller just for temp monitoring? :ROTF:
Lol aw Naekuh, oh how I wish I could hug you and tell you it's ok to think like that :P
But seriously, I'm getting itchy fingers, but I can't do jack until my orders come in!!!
AND I OFFICALLY HATE VAPOR!
He has now showed me an area where i have to spoil myself.
I present u, the blingy screws!
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0810.jpg
And they have very high quality:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0812.jpg
So thumbscrews? or use the blingy hex's?
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0814.jpg
Originally i was gonna just use them to replace the rusted top screws.. but now im thinking of changing them to all but the panels:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0815.jpg
:O BLINGY SCREWS FTW!!
hex looks sexier, thumbscrews would let you get in there easier.
mmm side panels will be thumb screws.
But the things i dont need removed all the time, im debating on swaping them out to that style.
This is what the screws were originally intended for:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0817.jpg
you can see my original acrylic holders have all rusted til no tomorrow.
Darn it NaeKuh, stop making us hardware horny, because most of us don't have the money to buy all that awesome hardware !
Rub it in more dude, those hex screws are gorgeous, Cant find anything like that here in AU.. unless i do the ghetto way and re spray them haha
Zomg smexy!!! :d
I'm not a bling person per se, but even I have to admit those screws sure look a whole lot better than the rusty ones. That tri monitor setup is slick.
well now u see why i was on msn with vapor for 2 hours looking at screws!
Tomorrow is the big D day.
580GTX block + 2 koolance ddc heat sinks (i was chicken in changing my ddc-2 to those sinks, but seeing how well they work, im going to commit on it.)
+ the day shazza is looking for...
*Zombie Mode on switch*
SLEEVING
:shakes:
Gosh i hate sleeving!
I was requested to post better pictures of the screws.. since the ones i posted in application came out kinda blurred.
So here is how they look close up and focused...
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0819.jpg
And here is a side panel finished:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0820.jpg
Mmmm i may put an order again at fastners expresss.. i want to change all the stock screws on my 580GTX block, as well as the bay res face plate with hex blingy screws..
:hmm:
i really like those anodized screws/spacers/casters. very nice!
i almost caved in with titanium tho...
It was vapor that told me to go black..
http://www.fastener-express.com/titanium-screws.aspx
http://www.fastener-express.com/Prod...cket_Screw.jpg
ahhhh... i'll use titanium in my next build..
Ah nice, i could imagine changing all those hex screws on all the EK blocks etc, Would definately add some nice blind to the build!
missing the PPC Order.. :\
Whats more annoying?
Not having a 580GTX in stock? <--- the first 580 i got..
Or not having the required hardware to put it into your system? <-- lol i cant SLI cuz i dont have my crystal links from ppc!
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0825.jpg
:wasntme:
Koolance sure does spoil you man :D
Guys .. i wonder, how much time is dedicated to building or modifying your builds or even just waiting parts for mod vs .. actual using PCs? :)
By the amount of dust I'd say (actual usage)/(modding) > 9000.
They take care of me. :D
my system never goes off. If its off, its because its either broken, or in pieces being rebuilt.
But it started out small, then grew, and grew, and grew, and now its too big for me to go anywhere else..
Man... my dust was at over 9000.
I had to actually use one of these to wish it away
http://www.fast-autos.net/diecast-ca...0439123716.jpg
its all here now... BTW shazza have u checked out the high density stuff?
The first impression i get from it is shoe laces.... NO JOKE... it feels like shoe lace...
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0826.jpg
I was waiting for the red crystal links and the backplates:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0827.jpg
i went with bitspower this time, because i heard of all the machining finishes eK had.
They look pretty nice. Only problem is you can see where the screws are missing. On the KL block, they use the corners and not the sides.. so the ones missing the screws have them on the underside because there is a Pad which lifts the backplate off the pcb.
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0828.jpg
Now i gotta pull the one in my system and throw a backplate on that...
LOL b4 i end up almost draining 2 loops... ie.. my cpu loop to change the bei fei sinks over the kl sinks... and adding second gpu.
Does anyone want closeups or anything?
Or want to see something up closer when i room to shove my camera inside my case while working on it?
nylon multifilament. it might as well be shoelace.
mmmm... ran into problems with the crystal links.
The long one is 1-2mm too long.
The short one is 2mm too short.
:\
BaH.... lucky for me i had a box of fittings and small couplers:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0831.jpg
I am gonna replace those tubing with small plastic rods:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0830.jpg
I just needed something to hold it up temporary.
And i will replace that rusted clamp when i change the DDC shells... i dont want to do it now, as its like 3/4th of a galon in coolant when i drain my cpu loop.
So far the cores are about even:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...hiko/stats.png
Why not file/cut long ones a bit shorter? eg. with dremel?
Progress!
Yep ... I've tested just about all the sleeving I can find out there. But, my bias is still towards the MDPC-X stuff.
Yeah, I still need to do some sleeving myself. Unfortunately I destroyed on of my memory modules, so it got postponed by at least a month .
Thanks for the update NaeKuh ;).
mmm last time i put dremel on plastic i got some funky white thing that looked like solder...
yeah, ive tried there stuff.
I wanna give kobra's a shot tho next.
mmmm... the shoe lace isnt bad.... its just funky.. and its kinda hard to expand to get stuff in.
NaeKuh,
I have a few C-Links laying around. LMK, which ones you need.
the one which doesnt exist.. lol.
it would be right in the middle of the longest and middle length tubes on the 2card set. lol...
meh... i like the more red in the look anyhow...
i shall finish this by this weekend tho u guys... can u believe it.. me finishing something..
Changed my buttons:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0834.jpg
They glow purple all the time around the ring so i know where my buttons are in the dark.
(why is it half the time i go after purple, i always get HOT PINK instead, Lamptron DOESNT even make a hot pink vandel switch... ugh... deja vou with coolant here)..
Well my LED's for my pwr on and HDD should be UV also, but there blue... *sigh*.. purple = HARD COLOR!
Im still lost on filters.... Here i am playing with 2 sets, which do you think looks better?
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0832.jpg
i think im gonna go with the top design, as the red matches better, or i could get the bottom design in red... ugh....
And u can see what i mean about the glowing rings on my switches.. :)
Lastly the DDC sinks i got for the DDC-2's wont work.
They dont fit old DDC's, so dont even bother trying.
For me to get them to work, i would need to basically hack up part of the plastic holding cell, but meh.. the pumps are so hard to replace as it is, im gonna let them be.
Hmm, purple alongside top red filters looks ok. It's blue side filter frames that seems out of place. (shape-wise as well, as top and bayres devices are rectangular, while these - rounded)
Hmm, and i wonder if you can change tone/color of button lights with painting over something partially transparent?
NaeKuh,
Too many color IMO. My eye cannot focus on one part, maybe go with black on the fans and highlight the Lamptron purple?
top filters all the way, them bottom ones are shyt looking lol
yeah i think im gonna chug the bottom ones..
Yup.. gonna just go with black frames and black sponge like the old style
The red kinda clashes with with purple... so i think im gonna go all back..
Anyhow updates.. u guys wanted to know how well the dust collector works?
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0837.jpg
Good lord... those filters usually last a few months... :O
Thats how much dust we have here in LA.
Well it worked out so well, i decided to improve it..
I doubled the surface area:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0838.jpg
added new filter also
NaeKuh makes cardboard look like pro equipment
here's the name for your box filter: ほこりの王女 (hokorino oujo)
that box is like shotting missles at dust...
I want this as my avatar:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...9777584936.gif
LOL... I think its a nice representation of my budget being shot down, and the calibur of the machine.
LOL (I can't remember the last time I watched that anime... hmm... anime night coming on me thinks)
how would you rate that koolance res? your using the 355's right? i only use D5's since ive had too many 355's die on me. the res just seems like a great solution for 2 loops with minimal space in the case for pumps and res's.. i know earlier in your thread you said you kind of had a hard time bleeding the air out but you got that figured out.
close to pulling the trigger on one but $130 is quite a bit for a res.
if it weren't for the file data size restrictions, this'd be just fine (about 120k)
http://www.internettrolls.com/nad_180.gif
but the 32k restriction makes it come out more like
http://www.internettrolls.com/nad_mini.gif
maybe they'd be able to make an exception for such a cool avatar
some updates:
under Vapors advice i got a rheobus PWM to control my fans though bios.
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0849.jpg
Its great... love the thing... i love how i can hear my san aces roar when i start a game.. and then they quiet down as i come out.
Realized at this point in the build... every last part i add, is like playing a game of tetris...
LOL... had to move the scythe temp panel to where the old rheobus was, and move the small guy to the side:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0848.jpg
Side completely finished: (well waiting for more thumb screws)
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0847.jpg
Top View: (i love how my case almost level's with my desk!)
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0851.jpg
DAMMIT i cant keep the dust off b4 i complete.... SAVE ME!
OH i want a HUD on that acrylic.. so my temps from the scythe can be shot up at that acrylic.... Is it even possible to do this?
Anyhow wednesday my decifilters arrive, as well as some more cables so i can clean up the internals.
Also 5 new fans for me to completely replace my lower bay's fans with.
I got enermax's with removable fans for easy cleaning.. although.... i dont know how im gonna remove the ones in pull.
lol dam those filters sure do attract some dust! Dont worry i live in a dusty environment and it kills me because i want a full clean sexy build!
I wonder if paint finish type of MM cases might have something to do with hard to fully clean off dust from Naekuh's case. I doubt he didn't try hard enough to clean/wash/whatever.
Naekuh: you can always take black & white pics or photochop a bit to hide those nasties :)
LOL @ the "Top View: (i love how my case almost level's with my desk!) ". Wait till I start my build log this week Naekuh. It's my UF2O on top of my Ascension case, :D. I had them laying around and I said "What the heck, why not?". Almost 44" tall. Anyway, still won't be as an epic build as this, but it's a start. Love the setup you have, although you do have a dust problem. If I didn't know better I would say your desk was in the middle of the dessert.
A catastrophe of efficiency. sure it isn't something 'pretty'
It's Pretty Amazing. : ) To some this is beauty. and to bling it out completely would be Madly expensive haha. this is already A Crazy amount of fittings / tubes / blocks / rads.
I remember when my vision of beauty was a micro ATX case flat black and a koolance with deltas on top.
Why can't this be an absolute gem? : )
ROFLMAO - you got some serious ballz to dis to Naekuh master!!!
Everyone see's bling / pr0n in different ways. It's like women with men... some like tall, muscled up, hot looking blokes who should be in magazines but who are a bit crap when it comes to getting things done. Others prefer cuddly guys (waist line n' all) who just melt you heart and get things done with no quibles and go that extra mile without you even asking.
For me, I prefer the latter, and if when they do get dressed up, then yeah, it'll blow the competition out of the water in my opinion!
Anyway - looking good Neakuh - but I agree with others and suspect MM case paint does something wierd... I always think MM's look dusty uness they're brand spanking new out the box
Guys the reason why i havent changed my filters once again is because i got the Decim filters coming to swap out everything in the front.
2 x 120x3 filter versions + 1 x 120 for the lower right side.
I didnt sleeve yet, because once again, all my fans are coming pre sleeved, so i didnt want to sleeve fans which i wont be using anymore after i get the new ones.
Also, i figured i would probably somehow shove 2-3 more fan controllers inside somewhere, and cant sleeve until i finalize where the heck its going to go.
As for the top compartment and painting... i honestly didnt see myself using this pedistool this long.
I bought the pedistool from norris, if i recall correctly.
Originally it was going to be a temp station for my TEC's.
Im sure you guys remember this:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/ntc23ag5.jpg
However power draws and requirements (lack of a powerful pwm controller to handle those tecs)...
and having all my friends including skinnee tell me its not worth the power, i decided to drop that.
That top pedistool became just purely a wind station after that.
Anyhow i dont know how much longer i want to keep this case.
I want a Hori or a Raven style now... and im tired of double wide cases....
:\
oh u guys are gonna ask for more pics on the TEC's huh?
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/ntc17yh0.jpg
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...ntc22ss7-1.jpg
our very own XIP made them for me, and it ended up retiring him from building.. lol...
I think a hori would work great for you NaeKuh. If planned correctly, it could even provide some extra accessibility compared to your current case.
Haven't seen that TEC chiller in a while ;)
NaeKuh, I'm sure this has been suggested numerous times, but why not switch to phase change? Or does the condensation and other stuff worry you?
NaeKuh: too much power used? Your case is big enough to install auxiliary power diesel generator in it :)
(with fan controller autmatically starting it, when you game, to cool TECs on GPUs :D)
BTW, i don't like much window & fan holes on top of case. Seeing case being in level with table i automatically would have wanted to use case top for storing/piling things, as extra table surface. With fans in it it's not that great for that.
How would you fit all of that inside of a Raven or TJ style case? I mean even if you get the TJ-11 it would be cramped with all of that inside unless you plan on minimizing your loop or using secondary case just for your WC stuff.
I've actually been thinking about ditching my FT-02 which I'm using for my current build and getting the XSPC cube, but i've been on the fence about it because of the size so I definitely know how you feel about the double width.
hey naekuh what were your temps with the TEC? ALso if you ever decide to sell the case let me know.. im having a hard time finding a case which can fit 2x 560s..
Lol Naekuh, if I run it through 5x radiators will it bring the temp up enough to to condensate too much? I'm sure it'd have a good loving home in my Xtreme Dream PC
MMMM.... so i played around with my system today.
First off, Vapor made me commit serveral hours to change my fans... LOL...
In order for me to change my fans tho, i had to retap the PA.
So i took out my tapping kit:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0860.jpg
LOL i have M4, 6-32, 8-32
Typically i mostly use the 6-32, unless i need a longer screw which is very difficult to find in 6-32.
Then i step up to 8-32. The PA is tap'd 8-32.
I have yet to use the M4.
Reinstalled San Aces up front:
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/IMG_0859.jpg
Now i have 6 san aces on the pwm rheobus. You can see the DeciM filters.
And i can not use normal fan screws up front either, so im gonna think of how to go about that.
My system sounds halarious.. noise wise... as i game.. the fans rev up... and i go on idle mode.. its pretty quiet..
But here is a sample of what i mean:
http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p...ent=MOL012.mp4
more to come later as i get bored and do more work on it.
Im still lost in how to manage all those wires... :\
Lastly guys for the DECIM filters.. DO NOT GET THE 120x1 unless ur covering up a 92mm hole.
GO UP 1 SIZE for single options.
For the rad customized sizes... the 120x3 is large enough for a wide spaced old PA, which is shown on both the top and bottom chambers.
So it should fit any 120x3 radiator.
I'm so glad you bought better looking air filters, those old blue ones were horrible :) How are those DeciM filters? I was looking at them on PPCs, since I'm looking into some decent filters for my cube build.
ROFL! Holy :banana::banana::banana: that is loud.
LOL tell me about it...
its cuz all 6 san aces will rev 100% when my cpu hits anything close to 33% utilization.
Now u see why i want to pull the PWM off the video card.. :P
as for the DeciM... i like them... they get dirty really really fast tho.. but its so easy to clean i dont mind.
however i still have problems with fine dust laying on the top chamber floor...
IMHO you would be better off managing the air quality of YOUR room (living space) then turning your PC into an air filter. :ROTF: It will be better for YOU as well!
The wrinkle finish on MM cases is probably the most durable but it's also a dust/dirt magnet and you really have to literally scrub it clean!
As far as getting lower temps I've told you what you need to do about chilling your water and controlling temps to prevent condensation and eliminating the need for conformal insulating coatings on the motherboard, etc. ;)
About that HUD - yes it's possible. There's plenty of software that will do it with a simple laser diode arrangement. If you want purple it will cost a lot more due to the complexity in getting that color. If red is OK well that's basically peanuts. :D
Ao ok, so the Rheobus 4-pin goes to pwm 4- pin on the motherboard w which controls the throttling based on CPU usage?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.
Just curious as too how many of those San Ace fans will connect to a single channel on that controller Naekuh? I still have a bunch, but switched over to Triberks due to the noise, they are quieter at low RPM and still seem to push air like the San Ace fans. The only real issue is finding screws for them unless I want to retap all my rads to 8-32 like you did.
exactly... those 2 cycles of 100% rev's u heard is my system going though linX.
The pause in the middle is when the fans quiet down... and then the full load is when my cpu has 100% load.
30W max per channel = 2.5amps.
.52amps / fan.... x 3 = 1.56amps... x 2 = 3amps @ startup.
I assume ur safe with 6 fans on 2 channels.
Since its only startup that pulls more.
But i wouldnt load 9 san aces on it...
My thoughts on tribewers..
I wont be able to type it without u getting spam'd banana's.. lol..
And reason why it would be spam'd banana's is exactly the same reason as u say.
Impossible to find working screw for it.
EDIT:
i got yelled at by skinnee last night for leaving the box fan running in the background.
Most of the background noise u guys hear is the box fan.
I'll redue the video with the box fan turned off later today.
Thanks for the info. I will listen to your video once you redo it, that might convince me to go back to my San Ace fans, although I am starting to hate sleeving. :D
all this power just to surf forms would be comedy...
Im a gamer at the core... no doubt about it.
mmm... i redid the video.. but it doesnt sound any cleaner... u can hear the birds chirping in the background tho.
http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p...ent=MOL001.mp4
Man... all this tuning... i kinda felt like i was at a dyno with my friend listening to them rev the engine...
