Hey guys! Has anyone reach 1000mhz on a vanilla GTX580 on water/air or any other? I currently need about 1.00-1.13v for SLI GTX580 at 950/2200 on water. Gpu temps are <50c :D I'm on single card right now, VID1.000V maybe I should try hitting 1000mhz but I just reformatted and don't feel like hanging with a fresh os.
I haven't tried anything higher except for 950. But If i recall 975 gives me hangs at even 1.15V. Maybe it's my cards. And yes I have tried downclocking the memory.
Card1: EVGA GTX580 Vanilla VID: 1.000V
Card2: EVGA GTX580 Vanilla VID: 1.013V
Palit GTX 580 3GB in the first slot (SLI disabled), water cooled.
Stock volts = 1.013v
OC volts = 1.150v
OC core = 1010mhz
OC memory = 2260mhz
OC max temp = 47C
I got it up to 1015mhz core & 2300mhz memory on few runs but each time I got few points less in the benchmark

Mine GB GTX580 has VID of 1.012V, so your should be good too.

Hello, can anyone help me unlocking vcore over 1.15+ on an Asus 580 DCII?? Nibitor 6.02 doesnt even recognize the card  does anyone have a link to an unlocked bios for this card..?
cooled by ekwb wb and scythe ultra kaze 1030 / 1150
And some other results with stock cooling...(fan 100%)

@donmarkoni
Awesome clocks! 1033Mhz GPU clock.. I noticed that 1.468 for 4.6Ghz.. a little to high?
my MSI Lightning on Air 1002Mhz/2450Mhz@1.16V http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1210873 ;-)
little update
cooled with water :D
This is on air , stock cooler and thermal paste . Zotac Card , not bad considering i dont have good airflow, but this card will be under water soon :) ... http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1217272 I still have some more room for a little bit of tweaking to do :)
what an high voltage for 990mhz ....
@aussie-revhead: for the 1050/1210 i need 1,29 vgpu. core under water - vrm and mem behind 2 scythe ultra kaze 3000
@DUMO: BIG THX for ur approval and ur helpful hints and links
now i´ve to look for a great 55x or 56x cpu, mine ended up @54x :D
Saw over a 500 Performance score boost in 3DM11 with the 275.27 drivers.
P7486
My 580 doesn't clock to high ( can't do anymore than about 920 with 1.138v :( ) so I'm interested to see what you guys with cards that can manage 1Ghz get with these drivers.
tested my CU II in vantage. mem is performing great there
Looks like my previous results were driver related (3D drivers).
Now no problems going over 8000 in P:

@ cole2109
That's funny, I got exactly the same score with my 2 in SLI :)
Obviously GPU/CPU subscores are different :)

those drivers doesn't like my system, i'm having bsod all the time, even on desktop while doing nothing....
luke, your cpu running at ??
HOLYdamn Cole , your only using 1.128v for 5.1 !??! Thats a SICK cpu man hahaa
thanks ;)
i think your cpu runs better than mine, i have to bump vcore to achieve those speeds .....
btw i've tried those drivers on another hd, no bsod ...

:p:
At the moment to high temp in the room for 1000MHz

14K here we come
This is not real voltage. CPU-z bug.Quote:

i suggest a ranking for all this nice scores!
I have currently have a vanilla 580 and recently put a full cover block on it. Is it possible to unlock high voltages than those provided by E-Leet? My current maximum voltage is 1.14375V I believe if I can get up to ~1.15V that I would be able to break the 1GHz barrier.
Considering my 580 is LC, would running at 1.15V "permanently" damage the GPU? If not is it possible for me to save the voltage/frequency settings to the card as to avoid using software?
Damn, how do you gut 1.5 !! Volt? My max is 1.15 on all 3 Cards.
I didn't even think voltages could go that high without any kind of modding but 1.4 let alone 1.5 seems *WAY* to high. That kind of crazy voltage is a big no no on anything but the most extreme cooling ( LN2 ) Someone correct me if I'm wrong here but that just sounds nucking futs. Most stock 580s support up to 1.138 officially with some bios allowing up to 1.2 or so. And honestly if you are looking at hitting a useable day to day clock speed and are not in it just for a measuring contest I'd be sparing with the voltage as the power usage skyrockets on these things when you start cranking the voltage.
My bad, I forgot a digit :) its supposed to be 1.1XXXX, I adjusted my post accordingly
That makes more sense, scared me there :)
Now with that cleared up, 1.15v should be fine on water long term. With the same rad as you ( the tfc ) I had my 580 in a loop with my 920 ( also at 4.2ghz ) since early December until recently and I had no issues with medium speed fans. Things loaded around 45-50C on the gpu and in the mid 50s on the cpu in multi threaded games.
As far as doing so without software you'd have to resort to a custom bios so unless you are comfortable with that stick with software. I personally like using nvidia inspector as it plays nice at startup with vista/7 without resorting to anything fancy. I've flashed my video bios in the past before but unless you are damn sure those clock speeds and voltages are 100% solid it can make for a huge headache later down the road.
What better way to open more voltage of 1150?
I can't reach over 932MHz with 1150v :(
i need reach 950 or 960MHz only .
thank for all .
that extra 20-30mhx wont make a difference really.. I say tweak out a few other things and call it a day @ 930
It might be a little early to say but upgrading from my Silverstone Zues 750watts to a Strider Gold 850watts made my 900Mhz core stable at stock voltage, with my older PSU I would get instant glitches in heaven 2.5 and now I've passed 3 runs w/o a single issue!
I do hope this holds up!
Demo - I have been benching single 580 with a 620w psu because it seemed to do the job but I have been chasing a weird low scoring issue in 3D11, I wonder if I may also have an underlaying power supply problem, I also ordered a Strider Gold 850 that should arrive tomorrow , so Im interested to see what happens.
:)
Please do post your findings, Im now trying game testing with the 900Mhz core at stock voltage.
single card run, .... !
http://www.xtremeshack.com/immagine/...hzpegaz001.jpg
I was able to get 1.15V using MSI Afterburner, hopefully its actually at 1.15V and not just 1.4XXX
Anyways, here are my results.
1GHz Core 2400MHz Mem.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_s...400_275.27.jpg
CPU configs are as indicated in my sig 4.2GHz i7 920.
I'll give this a few hours run on Heaven to determine long term stability. Considering my cooling and temps, I think this may be a decent 24/7 OC.
p3gaz_001 - how does your rig score in vantage and 06 with the same settings?
:)
After running Heaven for an hour or so, I noticed artifacts. I had to reduce my GPU clock all the way to 972MHz to achieve stability at 1.15V
@ aussie-revhead are you talking about mine or your rig?! :)
Trying to get some more volts into my directcu II 580's.
I used the unlocked bios from Massman's thread on the hwbot forums here http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26163
The highest afterburner will let me get to is 1150mv, I tried with afterburner extreme 1.6beta6 but it just bsods and when i do get it to work there is no voltage adjustment.
I enabled the overclocking EULA thing in afterburner and the unofficlaoverclocking section as well.
Also tried with ASUS smart doc and the highest is still 1150mv.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
@aussie: in vantage i have to lower my core clock 10mhz, in 3dmark11 i have to lower the ram clock a little. see my post # 126 above ;)
Heres orson...http://kingpincooling.com/forum/show...t=smart+doctor
paired with that bios
when i was having your same cpu this is what i did.... my 970 was a volt hungry .... 1.48v for 4.4ghz ht off
http://www.xtremeshack.com/immagine/...3dm0633362.jpg
Nice but I expected more, what does it score with your 980 now?
:)
P8067 for me now http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1261514
Guys do I need to flash my bios to get past the 1.213v limit? Also do I need an Asus bios to use smart doctor?
:)
900Mhz really became stable with a PSU change..
In terms of voltage requirements for a specific clock on GTX580's, and keeping in mind they are water cooled, what are most owners using voltage wise?....
I flashed the bios on the cards to allow up to 1.213 volts(from a maximum of 1.138 volts on the original bios), and i've had the cards running at up to 900 Mhz GPU/2100Mhz memory on 1.138 volts nice and stable with load temperatures for all 3 GPU's staying at 60*C, so no temperature issues and still some wiggle room left for more.
Im using stock VID 1.088v with 1.1v the temps really skyrockt close to 90's and the fan just revs up so bad!
When I was running my 580 on my 920 / x58 ud5 I was using 1.13v for 900. Now I don't know if its just the difference in boards, drivers or if the card degraded but I'm having problems even at 1.125 ( I'm noticing though in NV Inspector the voltage reading I'm getting is 1 lower than what the app sets thing to, ie 1.125 in inspector is loading at 1.13, I used to use Afterburner so may be why ) I happened to change drivers and motherboards at the same time so I can't say for sure. Regardless even at 1.138 in afterburner it won't break 50C.
Small question guys - what is cold slow bios for? Quick google says its only for extreme cooling, so is there a better bios for my water cooled 580? I havent tried nibitor etc and reading the tutorial it looks a bit tricky, can someone unlock my 580 bios so I can get past 1.213v? Or even better an unlocked reference asus bios to use smart doctor with?
Cheers.
card is clocking well in 05 also in 03
PM replied, thank you.

my first post here guys
my 2 vanila GTX580 1v vid SLI

they just run awesome and coool
Cheers to all
Sergio
how to disable OCP ? my gtx 580 only 350w on furmark ??
link plz ?? gpuz 5.3 doesn't have that switch ?
edit, here : http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=134458
still no switch there ?
It's not a button or tick box, it's a command line switch. You make a shortcut to the executable. Then you open the properties for this shortcut and put " /gtx500ocp" (notice the space before; without the qoutes) at the end of this line:
Attachment 114654
Also, cross fingers not to fry your card this way.
I think it should since it's the same codebase. Test it and let us hear about your results.
I can't test this, it doesn't apply to Lightning cards afaik.
upping the new girls :D

such amazing cards
cheers to all
Sergio
Just like to update on my end with the new PSU ( silverstone strider gold plus 850watts from silverstone zues 750ZF ) made 900Mhz core stable with the stock voltage ( 1.088v ) with the older PSU it would glitch out in less than 5 seconds of heaven 2.5 or even crash with 3dmark11
nice girls Sergio  congratz on your acquisition :toast:
set vgpu @ 1.150-1.175 for 950/2300
when you get them running at 950/2300 mind running heaven 2.5/crysis 2 benchmark or just heaven 2.5?
posted mine earlier: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&postcount=55
noboby here wants to post theirs.. would like to see how they compare
if its not too much to ask
cheers!
thanks nap  much better cards than the 570 look this still in 1,15

oh heres my bios which i got from splave.. 1,213v
http://www.mediafire.com/?weerr417bw12af5
nice bench there serg...... I am envious... Makes me wish I just spent the xtra money and went 580 sli :(
Keep up the killer benching :p
Anyone got anything for a Zotac Card ?? :P
So its like what $150 per 1000 pts in 3dm 11 :)
heres what my 570's look like - both sub 1v cards :)
http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/541/fullscreen1.png

Not too shabby.. Though I dream of going over the 12k marker soon (please Nvidia give me some super drivers... or a nice 16 x/ 16x board lol)
Using smartdoctor linked a few posts ago, I am able to set the slider higher than the 1213mv limit, but in gpu-z it still shows volts as being 1213.
I can't also seem to increase the clock above what my max is at 1213mv.
Is there any way to check that smartdoctor is actually applying the higher voltage ? Or does anyone have a copy of afterburner extreme from the 2.0 builds. I have tried with 1.6beta6 and there is no voltage control.
17-18C delta @ 1000/2300/1.2vgpu :)
been playing shogun2/metro2033/crysis2 wasnt able to do this before on the poor flow rate
@ 950/2300 just 15-16C delta
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/2064/88060710.th.png http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/985...9330036.th.png http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/9...9193539.th.png http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/518...9300541.th.png
orson - I think you will find that your 580 is also bios locked with a voltage limit so you will need to flash the vid card bios to get past 1.213v. I did this to mine with bioses supplied by a very nice member here, all of them unlocked higher voltages BUT all of them caused issues such as graphical corruption even at stock settings, luckily I didnt brick my 580, so for now I am back to the 1.213v bios until I get one that my card likes.
wow i love that is that a lian li removable case ? and ur cards on water lovely blocks man
heres mine
