You do realise however that destiny played a role in this, don't you?It would just not be fair than an AMD maniac buy an intel and get a very good chip at first try :D (i'm joking or course =)) )
I do believe you are right ALEX, it's Karma, I wore a Hi my name is Dr. Who? name tag at CES.......Now i get a crappy chip.
:rofl::ROTF:
TBH never found a killer intel chip, I did find a 980X i was content with though. Well maybe my 920 is killer although i never find the time to push it.
Seriously though i lack the necessary skills to hand people there ass. It takes alot of skill to throw money away till you get a good chip ;)
its look, in Czech republic we have good batchs...most guys 5GHz air stable with air, someone only 1.32V 5GHz in prime, NoctuaNH12 !
i've been playing with 6-6-5 timings this morning. a photo of the rig...
http://www.3oh6.com/wp-content/uploa...01/MG_9148.jpg
and a sub 5GHz result...
http://photos.3oh6.com/forum_post/20...14_6-6-5-2.png
still plenty of work to go on subs and the OS, but consider this a pretty good ballpark for a tweaked run at these clocks/timings.
as for running the 2033 ratio, forget it. the M4E wants nothing to do with my Hypers at high clocks. 7-7-6 1100MHz can do most
every thing but SPi. i can also run 6-7-6 1090MHz in Maxxmem and stuff, but not even 8M SPi.
those rams are good... its the end of hypers domination :D
With my hypers that won't run 2133 in spi32m.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...hsot0001-1.png
With chip maxed out.
http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...EMI/spi32m.png
Over 1000Mhz @ 6-6-5, that is crazy :banana::banana::banana::banana:.
@3oh6 : That's one faaaast & furious run  Congratz man, your ram and efficiency are great
@SoF : Little update of my 1M :D

closing on sub 6.6s not bad :D
I killed my pi-windows when trying to play with msconfig so I need to install a new windows on week-end after finishing my business trip. also my board doesn't allow bclk changing anymore so I am very limited in clockspeeds atm :( think I'll need to get MIVE anytime soon :p:
@jody damn nice run man!
Yep, you should get M4E :D P8P67 is great, but like all vanilla before her, it's a pain in the arse to overclock... M4E in not faster but a lot more easy to clock ;)

p€p|n0r@ng
well it was ok for me but I am mainly missing RoG-Connect all the time. My bench-place is fully build around rog connect so I can use my allday system for starting, rebooting and so on - without it I need to stand up everytime what sucks after a while. I also think M4E might be a bit better in mem overclocking but not sure yet. maybe it's just the better and quicker bios dev.
Silver and LSC only.
testing max without sacrificing timings with air on rams, ln2 should be interesting.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/P67A-UD7/1089%20ram.jpg
with cdt and some msconfig magix this one will go 6min 36/35s I think - not too bad chewie, specially your ram main timings make me jealous :p: :D
Hey Jody, looking good mate
Try a GBT board with 21,33 multi and see how it does. It could also be a CPU IMC not wanting to play as well rather than the board unless you've tried a few chips :)
add maxmem to the mix Brian that will go into 35 easy without any real tuning or special attention to OS
i guess i will join the party

sorry for posting such a turd. hypers are giving me no love.
Rockin W7, Zen keep tweaking man. :D
nice cpu zeneffect ... so bdbg respond like pscs..wooot
@Hondacity: Yes agree, it's not difficult, but you have more monitoring, options and tools to overclock on M4E than P8P67, that's why I've sayd it is easyer

na, this is the first chip i have had. i definitely want to try a GB board, i think one is on the way.
i can run 2133 all day on everything but 32M. here is 6-7-6 pifast @ 1090MHz with the CPU clocks maxed to what the chip can do...
http://photos.3oh6.com/forum_post/20...90_6-7-6-1.png
but 32M freezes the instant it is started. here is the best i managed with a quick attempt. prolly another 5 tenths or so in it with copy wazza changes and sub timings, but the chip is at a wall...
http://photos.3oh6.com/forum_post/20...11_6-6-5-1.png
doesnt vtt help at all mate
i found the only way to run my hypers with 2133 ratio is to have a sweetspot with VTT on both UD5 and UD7 with same volts 1.24v, 1.22v is almost there, and 1.26 doesnt like it
Hmmm... Hypers were running 2133 8-8-8 21 @ 1.68V HyperPi 32M stable with only 1.1 VTT on a UD7. I didn't think VTT had any effect on SB.
that's quite a lot vccsa if you ask me - I am having similar issues with my hypers.
0.95V vccsa - 1.15V vccsa will boot 2133 with my hyper but freezes on 32m instantly. does your setup gives instant freezes on 32m initial below let's say 1.15V vccsa?
PS: stop calling it vtt - you confuse me every time :p:
in jeeegabyte world its still QPI/VTT :p:
yes it scales, if i donthave these volts i cannot boot at all lol
i thought he meant VTT hahah
system agent doesnt do :banana::banana::banana::banana:
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ffect2600k.jpg
just switched to xp. no waza, barely touched the os.
throw mine in here from today.

hyperfficiency!!
sheeeettt
nice work brian.y
To all.
How about not only posting spi32m runs at max clock but also posting spi32m times @ 5ghz for comparison?
Thank you and have a nice day :)
5ghz run before to try higher with hyper :)
http://www.pt1t.eu/public/P67/M4E/32..._5ghz_6-34.png
Nice Brian! I only wish I could touch that efficiency. Having a nice kit of mem helps Im sure
wow last two run's here with very good efficiency
Congratz Brian & Pt1t
Why are you doing that? Cold bug with cascade or something?
Latest options in maximus 0951 regardind memory improves something?
Nice pics dude, I thought I was alone to make "weird chillers" (http://picasaweb.google.com/11194975...GhettoChiller#) to cool Sandy, but you've going even more crazy there ! Now show us some 5,6G + Hypers 32M, I wanna see crazy efficiencies/times from belgium
testing mine again with fresh windows today - doesn't have high hopes to reach a better timing there. but while producing constant bootloops it somehow changed bclk finally again so I can try some more ram clocks :)
hehe good to see you joining :D
Well during first tests vccsa did help to get hypers at least working 1866 but maybe I should test io voltage then (usually I fix it 1.1V).
very nice run
those timings do save the day :)
and the premium bios support - if there is something new, you'll have it in a bios of that board. btw anybody tested the new option in m4e?
haha very nice
Nice to see people coming together
Pictures show Asus P8P67 EVO but these results are from M4E. I can overclock better with the Mazimus
Great CPU and nice clock, only 1.520v fo 5,6GHz
sweet benchplace and setup ron :toast: Show us some 32m under sub 6min on XP :hehe: :D
How is your 01 testing going? You already could get a new gpu?
Here is a run some days ago with 5500 - seems that my cpu maxes out around that :( 5520+ is very unstable under air...but it likes to run 1.61V vpll ;)
http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/5483/32mcdt5500s.jpg
And one at 5 GHZ - shaved off another second but can't match the top guys with their great ram ;)
http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/2...ghz638328s.jpg
That gives us: 500 MHZ = ~30s faster | 100 MHZ gives ~ 6s | TRFC 72 instead of 88 gave me around 0.6-1s
Hey SoF -
I got a couple of the Gigagabyte.GTX460 soc cards. I'm working on that. Thanks for the suggestion on XP. I'll give it a try and thank you for the 3DM01 lessons. I'll try that soon. :D
hi guys, here's a couple of runs for 5ghz and my max run so far @ 53x102.5
i started to get problems in 32m with my OCZ > 1093mhz 7-7-6. up to that is ok
think i'll need to use 54x multi to get any closer to 6mins
estimated for 7-7-6 + subtiming:
53x103.7 5495mhz 1110mhz @ 5m59x
54x102.0 5508mhz 1088mhz @ 5m59x
needed 1.53+ vcore @ 5430mhz, so lowest cpu clock is better
2600k L042B074 + H70

all manual subtiming, same for each run

Nice chip Ron, yea for sure try it in XP. Finally got these GTX2's running properly, just needed a bit more juice (1.82V)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...5m59s641ms.jpg
thats the best 5ghz run mr cheapseats! :D
Ah man, it sounded like an awesome feature...but sadly, I will never know how nice it is. Sold the r3e for enough money to buy a Classy 760 + EK water block...
It's been freakin awesome, I love this chip...I can't wait to mess around with it on the Classy (but I haven't had much time for OC'ing, nor do I have anything to make it cold besides my water :/)
Which brings me to seriously contemplating a 2600k...I can have a chance at doing some serious benching with it, and no need for cold.
However, I don't think I can bring myself to sell the 3520 :(
Ah, I see. Interesting. Haven't owned a GB since p45, but I've owned plenty of ASUS including the CHIV and R3E...never used RoG though lol.Quote:
and the premium bios support - if there is something new, you'll have it in a bios of that board. btw anybody tested the new option in m4e?
Very nice 32M super pi:up::up:
Nice run GHZ
Workin on it now, I installed 4 different OS today and am just testing what is fastest and the best mem settings. Takes a while with no memset or similar. No hyper makes it rough but Im going to do the best I can with this bbse although the best timings I can do @ 1:8 are 7-9-7 :(
I am currently setting up my friends i5 2500k and ud3p he just got, so excited for this thing...too bad he is yet to get his Fort 120. What are some "safe" temps for these chips? And is Intel's voltage spec max stil 1.375?
Just wondering, what type of tweaks are you guys talking about in XP? Just making absolute minimum of applications running, or more specific tweaks than that?
@cheapsets, Killer run mate 27k read/26k write and great timings mate best i've seen so far on SB... Which hypers you using???
Hondacity and Johnnyau .. thanks :) i still need 60-70mhz more on 54x multi to get any sub6 action..
Johnny it's OCZ blade sticks (see cpuz :yepp: )
cheapsets only ocz blades i can find are the usual ones which are tripple channel, u using them but running them in dual channel ? Mind linking me if im wrong, thanks
So, just wondering...what is everyone's count of dead/killed chips? I know PcCI2iminal has confirmed 1 kill in his thread (maybe more), what is the ratio for the rest of you during your quests for 5.4+ghz?
seriously? he killled 4-5 CPUs already wtf how
Whoa, your reaction made me go back to find where I (thought) I had read that, and I only quickly found confirmation of 1 dead CPU (a good one, that is, IDK if he killed any "bad" ones...but who cares about those :p: )
Have you killed any personally Dinos?
I would really like to try my luck at getting in on this game. Hopefully I can hand pick a good chip from MC as I only have the money for 1 chip, but that is also the reason why I want to know how many you guys have killed pushing them this hard. I can't afford to kill my chip lol.
I'll be under water, and even some slush boxes probably. Just sitting on the fence of selling my classy + w3520 for a 2600k + UD7 or UD5
not yet thankfully but i havent really had any amazing chips yet
the retail i am testing now im showing 1.6v and high QPI and vdimm seems ok so far
couple of ES chips i have got a pounding so far for the last few months but all is ok there too
This on air/water? What type of load temps are you keeping it under?
This is promising, ahh I am so tempted.
ive used both but now pretty much just use water Corsair H70
vantage load at high clocks is in 80C somewhere i donno
i have X58 and 980X machine at home and wouldnt change to SB, wouldnt really change even witha 960....if the video encoding capability was possible in P67 i would change for sure but right now personally i cant see the reason to change
it took me a bloody week to finally setup my OS and all the crap and now to have to make sure it all changes smoothly over to new platform etc would be a pain for me......i dont know about you mate, maybe you have different criteria to me
I don't need any video encoding, but I see what you mean. SB seems sick to play with, and even scores better on most tests ..but getting rid of top of the line enthusiast stuff for high end "mid level" stuff just doesn't make sense. Maybe if it was socket 2011.
Whelp, that just means I need to tighten my belt an just take it like a man, and buy a separate 2600k bench rig lol. Bad timing cuz I need new gpu + wc loop for main rig.
been testing this retail chip i got yesterday
CPU clock max is 5.3Ghz definitely, pretty average... oh well...
IMC is decent on this retail
i was close to running 1092Mhz as well but worried i will kill the ram with too much voltage,,,, more with KPs RAMdominance pot :D as it was still scaling with voltage heh. I should be able to tighten it hard with 1120, maybe more
now i gotta get that Pi OS to work, it wont install on SB lol
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/418...hz1087mhz7.png
http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/9...hz1110mhz7.png
Nice clocks man, can't wait to see what you do with the Dominance pot!
It's gonna be funny to see frozen memory and an air or water CPU cooler :D
I was just thinking phase and frozen memory the other day :)
 thanks Dino and George (hi mate:D).. think it only seems fast because of the subtiming i can put on my OCZ.
finding my gtx2 is much harder to run. eg 1067mhz 7-7-6 freeze loop 1 32m in XP (ok vista)
looks like some improvement (no freeze) for the corsairs with reduced vtt and vAS (0.90v / 0.815v)
saw this in C-N's post in UD5 thread for 1145mhz using psc sticks i think.
will test some more, with subs it still freezes but much later loop 15+
compared to my ocz it's horrible, and without subs way too slow :p:
thats interesting. i have to try the GTX2 sticks. I hate using them unless I really have to.
What sub is really tripping them out?
Hi guys,
32M Update :

https://picasaweb.google.com/1119497...75125178057330
2sec less with MNH-E hypers, but I got to work again on that efficiency to make it sub 6 since I can't tightening timings more, vdimm is already 1,86v :(
Bye

am I going crazy here with the UD7, or is it 3 seconds slow compared to the M4E? anyone else with both boards seeing this discrepancy?
same OS, same Aida bandwidth, same everything, tightened down memory timings as best i can on the UD7, and it is 3 seconds slower...

again, different OS, and not the same person so nothing can be exact, but the same 3 seconds between the M4E and UD7 show up. coincidence?
Makes sense to me Jody. Gives me an excuse why Im not at 5m 56s at least.. :P
