Yep, C-N,
agreed - start to feel it the same way- my friend wants to have the SB as well, so I m going to buy another P67 MB- an UD5 , and try this ES on top of it before those 2500K s arrive - just for teh comparison...
CYA gonna report back

Has there been any word on gigabytes UEFI support or is it still an unknown??
it will come later mate. The current boards support it with a bios flash basically.
thanks C-N and dinos22 for confirming, it looks mighty tempting especially coming from a q6600
New RAM = Even more goodness!! :D

tRC is a bit tight requiring a tad too much vDIMM but better performance on better voltages is real welcome.

Ok guys, i have somewhat vague question. Supposedly i get this mobo. Can i SAFELY buy this memory and will I be able to use its XMP profile w/o any issues ? It is 1.65v memory. I just want to know if i can go ahead and order it right now.

Dont 100% know about the XMP profile but 2133 runs fine & I bet those chips are the same as my new ones which as you can see work so I would say yes they will work real nice.

Nice chip CN, I love the v required for that speed. Very nice 3DM06 score. Just got my Gskill 17600CL7D kit in about an hour ago for this board which will be here tomorrow and then its Microcenter this weekend and I am set. Looks like the 2600K here in the states will be about 280.00 U.S. according the email I just got from them which is actually cheap. I am getting a little bored with my Xeon 3570 anyway:D
Can you run them at 1T Command Rate at 2133 mhz ? Im ordering them right now... I hope it can fit megahalems + 2 fans + these tall memory heat sinks...
ps: Now i only need my 2600K and mobo. :D
More then likely yes. I run my perfect storm set at that speed sometimes and always at 1T no problem with other boards.
Did latest version BIOS contains UEFI BIOS ????
i am really loving the f5x BIOS :) This is the old chip that cant previously pass 4.9Ghz with MSI gd55, ud5 and ud7 ...with the new bios ...heres what happened :D

Nice. Keepem coming.
Thanks a lot C-N. I don't care which way it blows as long as it fits. Man I can't wait. The only massive issue is to decide with 100% which mobo to get but this UD5 seems so sexy + that new Bios is ...... :D

No just the internal pll override option that allowed us to rev the nuts out the chips!!!
I believe it is in the pipeline though.
640 image size.... lol my phones bigger than that!!!
6m45s looks cool though & your vcore looks great for 5.1+
how many overvolt is pll overvolt?
daily use no problem?
with my ud4 i can do 4800mhz vith 1.401v..... for now....
my cpu hit only 58gflops with linx @4800mhz ram 1600 7 8 7 24 2t......
good or bad?
how many overvolt is pll overvolt? - Dont know but would also like to find out
daily use no problem? - Mine is staying at 5GHz for 24/7 so we will see
with my ud4 i can do 4800mhz vith 1.401v..... for now.... - About the same for me with my UD5 before the internal pll fix
my cpu hit only 58gflops with linx @4800mhz ram 1600 7 8 7 24 2t good or bad? - Looks low to me, although I have seen 59 ~ 69 pass linx here with my chip depending on setup.
Most times I get low Gflops the cause is low vcore & LinX wont load the system properly. I mean you hit the button & it runs fine but the cores dont get as hot as you have seen before & the Gflops are lower.
I consider my rig stable & still my Gflops fluctuate maybe as much as 2. I wont go into technical reasons but basically ensuring you always run the same amount of RAM by either letting your rig rest from a fresh boot or running Linx for 1 run to flush & free all the RAM before running your 20 or whatever runs should ensure more consistency.

Apparently the 'Absolute Maximum and Minimum Ratings' section is gone in the SB datasheet. I checked both parts of the main sheet and the socket specifications, and it's nowhere to be found.
I guess Intel 'd rather keeps us in the dark. Assuming 1.4V is reasonably safe considering it holds for both Westmeres and Clarkdales, but official data would be nice.
Ye looks like you can rev them all you like :D
I havent had time to read through the docs fully but my chip at 5GHz 1.45v is on the max temp so looks ok to me considering its running LinX which is way harder than real life.
##### I have to go away for work for the next 10 days so updates replies etc will be slow & probably a little short but I'll check in at least once a day #####
Hello, guys,
I m a bit puzzled here being somewhat experienced from before, but..
I ve had the chance to "try " this mobo instead of ASUS P8P67A DL - the ASUS d go to my friend MP :D
I have searched the F5x file on HWBOT- named xxxx.F5X - iI ve renamed the extension F5x to xxx.bin , but Q Flash s giving me the " invalid BIOS image " -did I miss something - the files are 4096 KB allright both the same ??
Thanks ..:welcome:
Thanks c-n I fell better flashing in DOS though....
Ok, thanks guys, /one always lerans something/ so- I wont do anything, just unzip the file and opint theQflash to it.... :) wanna be sure :)
EDIT: managed to flash it with the new version of@BIOS, the fix just works for the D2s , so I ll have to wait for it / I got an ES now /
BTW the board recovered itself and I ve got again the BIOS F2
On POST, just press and hold Alt-F12 till the mobo prompts you if you want to flash the backup BIOS with the main BIOS, press Y and it's done.
THX guys, on 10th there ll be 2 2500Ks waiting for me , I ll report back :) nice weekend - edit: tried to hold ALt-F12 during POST on BIOS F4 and F5a , all I had was just "flashpoint " and reboot- gotta get rid of F2 on the backup BIOS chip. BTW on the manuel there s written that " for the sake of safety users cannot flash the backup BIOS chip-)"
Do it as soon as it posts and make sure quick boot is disabled
well done on the 2500's
Just got the UD4 version of this board, im really liking the matte finish on the pcb, this is one bad ass looking board.
Got my UD5 last night and I really like what I see so far. Now its chip time.:D
Gotta wait till sunday to grab the CPU's, my local frys has 5, i will be at the store before it opens, to ensure i get one, i hope they price match micro center.
Why does it have to sets of BIOS old type and new type UEFI BIOS? I thought everything was going to just transition to UEFI?
I may not post here much but I sure do check this thread every few hours ;)
OCM
Great to see lots of you getting the ud5 and chips now and look forward to some results.
I'll tidy the thread up a bit and move these little tips etc to the front when i get back from working away.
On a side note as im away from my pc i need a little help from someone with a running ud5, please pm me if you will do me a little favour... Its for everyones benefit.
Just ordered my 2600K and UD5. Will pick it up Monday probly. Is the latest BIOS F5x for the UD5 ? UD7 and UD4 already got F6x...
UD5 not sell in my country
line up to UD3P then skip to UD7
Ebay?
My 2600K is ready for pickup this morning. My store sold out in like five minutes. Its going to be a great day.
What's the absoluty MAX vCore and VTT for 24/7 ? Temperatures?
Waiting for results guys !!! I can't wait for my stuff tomorrow ! I'll be putting the latest bios right away as soon as i install the OS. The problem is tho i wont be using the complete Defaults of the bios, it will have to be switched to AHCI due to my Intel SSD for it to properly install the OS, i hope this little option wont affect me flashing to the new BIOS through Windows.
I am cranking some out right now as we speak and should have something up in about an hour. So far this chip is really fast and 5G was simply retarded easy to get on this UD5.:D
I switched to AHCI right off and booted from my SSD no problem. I've even flashed twice now.
Right now at 4.5 1.4VC, seems stable, went to 46x, bluescreened on windows startup, and now BIOS reverted back to F3. I'm doing something wrong with the BIOS update on the UD4.... grrrrr.
Ok here is a few quick runs after setting up. This is at 5040mhz at 1.40v core bios and a slight increase in Qpi/Vtt from auto, other then that nothing else has been changed. I set the multi at 50 and increased bclk to 101 for a clean break of 5G resulting in 5040mhz. This chip is on water using a remote PA 120.3 rad and EK HF block and the temps are super low. The ram is not my RipjawsX set which did not get here yet but a 4G set of 17600 Pi running on XMP profile1 with timings left in auto for 2132mhz, ram at :banana::banana::banana:ty 7-10-10-28 timings. No tweaks yet and 5G was easy even with the original F2 bios on this board. You where right CN this board simply flys and is very friendly to work with just like the last Gig board I used, fantastic stability. I am still getting things ironed out but so far all I can say is this chip is certainly faster then my 920 or 3570 at the same speed pound for pound by way more then 10% and runs about twice as cool. The UD5 is very impressive so far. Testing continues.:D
Hi, quick question please ? I'm using the latest @BIOS and latest BIOS (f6x for my UD4). I can flash it fine from windows, but during overclocking whenever I BSOD, the BIOS says there's a checksum error and reverts back to the shipping BIOS F3. I realize there is dual BIOS on this board, but how do I flash both sides so I don't have to keep doing this ? I've gone thru the manual to no avail, and found somewhere to hold down ALT-F12 during post, but that does nothing. Do you have any advice here?
Thank you.
Voltages:
Now let’s move to voltages, this is very important and I think anyone looking to overclock should have a thorough introduction to the variety of voltages that the user is able to control.
Make sure to pay attention to my tid-bits on Vcore(VCC) and VTT(VCCIO), these are most important for overclocking, other voltages can help too.
Here is a table I put together from Intel’s product data sheet; it defines the processors maximum voltages and maximum amperage- These are OFFICIAL Min and Max Values:
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/553/processork.png
VCC: Commonly Called Vcore, the voltage supplied to the processors inside the CPU. This voltage is a large part of Sandy Bridge overclocking. Now from personal testing, and weeks and weeks of headaches and hard ships, I have a few things I would like to share about this voltage.
I say maximum voltage for Vcc/Vcore is 1.50v for 24/7, 1.55-1.60v for extreme benchmarking, please stay below to 1.6, and don’t use any type of Load Line Calibration past 1.55v. Please not that high temperature teamed up with high voltage will kill your processor faster than anything else, it creates a perfect environment for processor degradation.
I am keeping a limit at 1.45v for now while I play around. This chip is certainly more then I expected.:D
Did you disable Turbo in BIOS ? I mean does your multiplier stay at 50x at all times ? Also do you plan to update to the new F5x BIOS ?
[s; BTW you got an awesome chip !
This is great guys, nice to see 50 multi on f2 2600k & have a 580, gskills etc for comparison.
Keep it up
Dont need a 2600 but what the hell im going to order one today!
Hi guys,
Does this motherboard come with mounting screws? Most of the reviews i have read don't mention it.
cases come with mounting screws
or do you mean stock heatsink screws if they are held by platstic pushpins or screws (it's the latter)
No, they are not, why the hell do people keep posting the same?
1.52V is a maximal VID per SVID spec (maximal value of the VID table). Not the maximal safe voltage.
It's not listed anywhere.
There is not such thing as safe voltages for SB, you overvolt it, you take the risk. The same as with OCing the rest of the components...
I meant to mount the mobo in the case. It's about 3 years since my last mobo purchase so i couldn't remember where i got my mounting screws from :).
It's just that i'm selling my curernt X48 board to a guy tonight and i wasn't sure if i should give him my mounting screws or not. Looks like he won't be getting them!
Thanks for the responses.
Just ordered a p67 ud5.
Ordered a 2600k yesterday.
Planning on cooling with 2xCoolitBoreas in series.
2nd pcie will hopefully play nicely with an Areca 1880 with 13xR0 Acard 9010.
Going after the pcm05 4x WR. :D

My test :) No tweaks or not even a defrag :D just installed and test. Also note that I did not go beyong 1.52 vcore in the BIOS since I just borrowed this sandy from a friend. Dang no sandy yet here in the Philippines !!!!

Hey guys, can you use CPU-Z 1.56.2 on Giga P67A,thanks.
stasio, when do you sleep man >? You are unreal, like the fairy of Sandy Bridge at like a few forums... :D Keep up the good work !
 here too for stasio you help make xs a one stop shop
CPUZ read incorrect VCore with Gigabyte 1155 board
yeah + 1 on this one :) stasio is the man !!!Quote:
stasio, when do you sleep man >? You are unreal, like the fairy of Sandy Bridge at like a few forums... Keep up the good work !
actually cpuz and aida64 will report weird voltage for gigabyte boards :) cpuz will usually says 1.1 or less vcore while aida will give you 2.8V vcore ( hahah your chip should had been fried if that is correct ) ...LOL
Hey guys, I just built my system but i have a problem with my memory. I can't set any memory timings at all ?! When i chose X.M.P "profile1" from the mobo it puts the memory to 2133 CL6-6-6-20 2T and that is not my X.M.P. memory profile and it is not stable.... My memory is made for 2133 CL7-10-7 - 27 but i cant not change the timings at all with the F2 bios. I have recently put the F5 BIOS and it is the same thing with it. Can you specify which settings i need to change ? When i leave it on AUTO it puts it on 1333 mhz CL6-6-6 ...
ps; My memory is G.SKILL F3-17066CL7D-4GBPIS
PS: Can you guys link some overclocking guide ? Im not doing something right... When i change the CPU multiplier it automatically change its voltage. I set a voltage in CPU coltage menu where it says [AUTO] i change it to 1.35, restart and nothing changed... Its still at w/e voltage was before... What is going on ?
Disregard my previous post. I sorted the memory...
The problem i have right now is that whenever i get a stable clock - 2 hours of Prime95 + LinX stable and when i decide to shut down the system, it doesn't want to remember its overclock and reverts back to Defautls when i boot it up and i have to set everything again...
ps: BIOS F6a
Managed 5GHz with my No1 chip- fully stable is Prime with 1,488 @BIOS
LLC on level 1 - for IBT is sufficient VID 1,46 in BIOS -BIOS Fx

what batch mate?
The new bios rocks for my ud5 though I have no dual channel for ram which is strange.
Yes that is the order though this board may be tweaked. I have tried a few things now with no boot results in dual mode. It really sucks too because the new F6a bios totally kicks ass for high multi clocking. The PLLv auto increase linked to the CPUv adjustment helps big time to reach the high 50s. My 2600K can now run at 5300 HT on at just 1.475v all day long and go up to 5600 so far. I need to try a few more things regarding the ram issue before considering the number. For me at least this board and chip are simply awesome together and the new bios gave me a huge jump. I will have some pics up in a little bit.
My 2600k will be here tomorrow. Should be an interesting weekend ;)
OCM
mine came in today and everything boots great (UD5/2600k), updated to F6a and all is well.
will cinch down the megahalem tomorrow and run some tests!
The f6a is the best so far with my board. Your going to love that 2600K and UD5, get your happy face ready.
So F6a is the best bios update at the moment?
OCM
Strange issue, i had a similar issue on x58 if i set my ram too tight/fast. It could also be the chips imc.
Is f6 even better than f5 for max multi?
Looks like you are doing real well cant wait to see some results and get home in a few more days to try out f6
ok so just stability testing with megahalems before going to the chillers. :)
could do 48 multi at 1.4v cpuv, needed 1.415 for 50 multi
below is 50 multi testing at 1.415 cpuv bios F6a.
just getting started - all is well so far! :)
http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/9397/50multi.png
man either this CPU cooler is crazy nice or you boys have some seriously low ambients
that is very cool
My board is still not doing dual channel and after checking the socket for pin damage with a digital mic and not finding anything I would have to say its rma time. However it works fine in single channel so here is some single action I did last night. I think I have a new single card record for 3DM06.:D
Very nice results guys!
I am thinking about grabbing another chip today for that test as I have to take the day off anyway for a appliance repair guy to show up.
