Alt + f12 as soon as you see the post screen with quick boot disabled
Im so tempted....Ive found the board for 319.00+tx ( they have 26 in stock at this moment) and with the 2600k.. I have some Corsiar dominator GT 2000C8s. man..with my rig all on water ( in sig ) its till tempting, I know I wont really see a differance with any real performance increases..its till tempting.. I love haveing new stuff :)
@C-N: Thanks mate, that worked great. I dunno why it keeps reflashing when I try 52x100 or get stuck at 4E. :confused:Quote:

Oc nub u dissapoint me man :( , I thought u were x58 man :(
Probably not the best result but still wanted to share :) WIndows not tweak for benchmarking ...its just more of install and bench :) No VC overclocking done as well :D

Yesterday I picked my p67 ud7 and Intel I7 2600k, re-installed W7.
I have two problems.:
1 during post my Delete Key does not work, so I'm uunable to enter
the Bios environment. my kb is the Logitech K800 wireless worked fine
on my p55 ud5.
so fortunately I still had a kb with ps2 connection.
out the box bios F3 was present flashed in to F4, but if I try for
flash to F6a I get the msge. invalid bios, also used @bios but
but not able to flash beyond F4.
looking forward to your feedback and suggestions.
thanks.
I just ordered this board now. I've had good experiences with Gigabyte boards even though my current board is a Asus Rampage Formula X48. I usually don't buy into Rev.1 boards, but this board just looked too nice and most people seem to be happy with its performance.
These are the components i have ordered:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7, Socket-1155
CPU: Intel Core™ i7 Quad Processor i7-2600K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance™ DDR3 1600MHz 8GB CL8
GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 580 1536MB PhysX CUDA
HDD: Corsair SSD Force Series 2,5" 160GB
Does anyone know if a full board waterblock will be releaeed for this board? I guess it's too early, but it doesn't hurt to ask :).
@Polypenko ... please use the latest @BIOS which can be downloaded in gigabyte website. You can flash the BIOS in windows. For some reason the utility to flash the BIOS cannot detect thye beta ones :)
Already downloaded the latest @Bios, but I'm unable to load above F4
bios.
:)
Did anyone notice "CPU Multi Wall" ????
My UD7 and 2600K are in the mail :) Looking forward to joining the fun
Use this @BIOS
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList...gbt_atbios.exe
The great thing for SSD owners to overcome the fact Intel only gave these boards 2 x 6Gb/s ports, you can now RAID 3Gb/s + 6Gb/s!!
These array's are bootable as well!
http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/7...gbs3gbsnew.png
You can make software stripes across the Intel 6Gb/s and Marvell ports too, but that isn't as nice because it's not bootable, and you're adding Marvell into the mix which kinda dampers things already software stripe aside.
@lsdmeasap tks. but also this version does not give a new bios beyond F4
Sorry, I assumed you already had the BIOS.
Here are the BIOS files, download the file you need then use @BIOS and update from file instead of online update
http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15952
Tks for the info I'm a bit reluctant to use this Bios, remember a GB 48 dq6
which I updated were the bios update went wrong and had to return it
to the retailer.
I'm a bit confused as to why the beta bios on the Gigabyte site f6a
does not work, all other previous beta bios for my p55 ud5 could
be installed without any problems.
find it strange that Gigabyte places a Beta Bios on their site which does not work.
Can anybody shed some light on this issue.
So far the only annoying thing is than I cannot enter the bios with
my wireless keyboard.
should I wait for the official F6 bios version?
I was surprized GB had not yet implemented E F I Bios, will future updates allow E.F.I.
update?
thanks
Hi , what do you guys think about this ram , it isnt on the recommend vendor list though
http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=375
wondering what aftermarket air coolers will fit this board. Will the xigmatek dark knight fit the board? says its for 775/1155/1156/1366 on site.I am getting the gskill ripjaw ram so has high heatsink. Anyone know if it will fit?
Hi, quick question please ? I'm using the latest @BIOS and latest BIOS (f6x for my UD4). I can flash it fine from windows, but during overclocking whenever I BSOD, the BIOS says there's a checksum error and reverts back to the shipping BIOS F3. I realize there is dual BIOS on this board, but how do I flash both sides so I don't have to keep doing this ? I've gone thru the manual to no avail, and found somewhere to hold down ALT-F12 during post, but that does nothing. Do you have any advice here?
Thank you.
I see guys ordering 8gb kits, maybe I made a mistake ordering a 4gb kit? Ive never needed anymore than 4 before so this is what I ordered http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231355
Here is the 8GB kit of that (I think). http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...acture=G.Skill
I was thinking about ordering these but am not sure what to really get for Sandy yet. I was thinking of doing a 2x4GB kit that way 16GB is the next upgrade :shocked:
Ugotd8 .... got this from maxxx which he actually got from C-N hehehe press alt F12 when you see the boot up screen but you need to disable the quickboot first in the bios :D both my ud5 and ud7 now comes with f5x ( ud5 ) and f6x( ud7 ) for both BIOS hehehe
Anything which works on the current p55/1366 should be compatible with 1155 seeming as 1156/1155 same socket size..
I'd stick with 4gb personally, Seen quite a few tests people testing 8gb then 16gb, The more ram they add the higher the CAS and timings are..
I have tried the stock cooler of core i3 530- no issue, Thermalright Venomous X - No issue, Prolimatech Megashadow - No issue ... so meaning 11156 should be 100% compatible

just tried to update my p67a ud7 with the above bios, still get īnvalid bios" also tried @bios but same result.
managed to update the Bios to F6, used @bios but initially I went on
line to the server (this does not work)
Later I updated the Bios File stored on my Pc, Flash went okay.
also my USB keyboard works in the intial post stage.
thanks for all you feedback and help.
No I have flashed my bios countless times doing testing for the boards using the @bios downloaded from the link that Stasio posted it in one of his replies. Second page of something like that.
It works in all OS - tested.
Polypenko ... am using win7 64 bit ultimate as well and @BIOS works for me. I just downloaded that in gigabyte website since the @BIOS that came with the board is not working. After that I flashed my board to F4 on the UD7 then to F6x and works fine, also tried flashing from F2 bios to F5x on my UD5 and also working fine . Can you explain what do you mean by doesnt work? will it freeze in win7? will it just exit? You used the update BIOS from file option in @BIOS right?
I am asking since the old version of @BIOS will just freeze when reading the BIOS file from my USB. I was able to resolve that by removing the old @BIOS and installing the one I downloaded in giga website
Stasio am still happy with the f5x and f6x ...will probably try the new bios later this week heheh :) But thanks for keeping us posted here for new BIOS release :)
see my reply 136 it now works I made a stupid error by trying to upload via @Bios on line.
now I updated to bios F6 via @bios by using the bios file stored on my pc.
tks.
What are NB/Mosfet temps like on this board? Is there any reason to go for water cooling on the MB with so much of the OC weight being shifted on to the CPU package?

F6 doesn't let me boot in win with multiplier more than 49 :'(
Tried F6 as well. Same result as skeyo. For F6x, I think am at a wall. Greater than 51 always gives me "4E". Prolly the limit of the processor?Quote:
F6 doesn't let me boot in win with multiplier more than 49 :'(
I can't boot at all with CPu PLL overvoltage, but I have a D1 stepper :) yea @BIOS from their website works the one from my disc didn't work either. Thanks for the BIOS stasio, and thanks for that way to flash the backup BIOS.
The heatsinks get hot when I have SLI GTX570 but that is with watercooling and no airmovment around the socket area, with a heatsink fan temps are pretty low.
Can somebody link me to the F6 BIOS version that actually works? Trying to flash it but it gives me the stupid message "Invalid BIOS Image", I already downloaded it several times at different sources, same error.
I had to update the BIOS through @BIOS, now it works fine.
My i7 2600 only does 3.4Ghz on Turbo mode, is this normal or what? Because back then when I had an i7 860 it did like 3.5Ghz, and on Intel's site it says the 2600 does up to 3.8Ghz on Turbo.
My 2600K only does a 100mhz jump from 3.4ghz to 3.5ghz with turbo on stock settings with the UD7. I don't think it's actually set to hit 3.8ghz by default.
Does anyone know if Gigabyte plans to tweak the voltage options for ram? I'm running a G.Skill ECO 2x4GB kit which is rated for 1.35V, but I'm forced to choose 1.36V for the time being as the options are 1.34 or 1.36. Not a big deal but curious.
Need your help before I decide to return my P67A UD7 to the retailer.
I'm having very strange problems.
Let me explain, I have A Coolermaster Stacker and connected the usbF1 and 2
located on de bottom of the mb to the cables of my case.
When I than place the Logitech Unifier in one the the usb slots my KB and mouse
work, but during post Delete Key does not work, so I used a cables kb to enter
the Bios.
When I place the receiver in the back USB 2/3.0 slots I'm able to use the
wireless kb Delete key.
Yesterday all of a sudden I received a short flash msg. stating somethin like
"usb hub peak voltage error etc" I only have two usb connections 1 for my Printer 2 for the Logitech Receiver.
Also my Asus D1 pci sound card located in the bottom slot, is sometimes not
recognised (so no sound)
I did a clean Windows 7 64 bits install and meanwhile flashed to F6 also my
Sapphire hd5770 is now giving a kind off coil whine sound, previously on
my P55 ud6 these problems were not present.
So concluding do I have a buggy moederboard or are their any options /
suggestions which I could test prior to returning the bord tomorrow.
I think this is my 8th Gigabyte mb in 10 years, but haven't encountered
so many problems before.
thanks for your appreciated feedback.
New toys came today.
They are 2x2gb 2133 PI's.
I hope to get it running tonight but Im going on little sleep, a pillow and a warm bed sound really good.

:)
Havent played with the new rig much, but so far it seems pretty sweet.
Kept having problems with bios recovering on boot and loading f3/default, flashed the backup bios to f6 official from Giga website, and was able to flash to f7a beta using qflash and the problem seems to have stopped. (Thanks C-N for posting the alt/f12 tip to flash backup bios)

Nice voltages and decent time for 5GHz! Looks like a good chip!
OC Nub,very nice:D
how does it compare with your i7-930 at 4.5GHz?
i mean doe you feel it to be a big improvement?
Am having problems with the F7a bios. Every time I reboot, it will start/show the F6x bios (the backup bios), then restart again to the F7a bios. It won't directly start with F7a.
Reverted back to F6x.

Question guys, which LLC level do you recommend? Maybe for benching to start with. TIA....
OC nub im sure you can hit around 5.2, 5.3 @ around 1.5
I have been using LLC1, I always used it on the x58 UD7.
Got it a little higher fairly easy.

Nice results nub, always been a fan of your overclocks
@OC_Nub: Thanks for that. It's what I have used for the run I posted. Will try a bit more higher volts after work.Quote:

Looking good so far OC Nub. What is your batch#?
LLC Level two shows to set vcore 0.03v higher at load when i measured with DMM.
Nice job, I foudn that BIOS F5 was the best for my OCing, but I can't use CPU PLL Overvoltage. I foudn that F6X let me do 107.5blck and I used F3 for 5.2ghz, and F5 did the same.

Nice memory u have there. I should push my corsair dom. gt to see how they compare. What are the voltages for that cas 5 run?
Thanks, vdimm set to 1.66v, QPI/VTT 1.20v and PCH 1.10v
Picture of the messy rig, Im not very good at cable management.
nice catch oc_nub ....
yea man nice memory and OC! i wish i had a retail D2 stepping somtimes, i know i could push this baby furthur. 107.5blck isn't that nuts? i posted it in my performance review of the board, no one said naything about it ahahaha
BTW i updated BIOS list.
How is the ram ? Are you able to run low voltage with decent clocks/timings ? I am getting my DDR2000 kit tomorrow and i have this sitting on kitchen table
http://i.imgur.com/FSI2Rl.jpg
i did a comparison at 4.2ghz if you wanna see. The i7 930 has more processing power, but is slower.
@aver, got 1866mhz running on 1.560v 6 8 6 24 trfc74.
Last time tonight I promise. 5.2ghz 1.488v idle 1.50v-1.505v bios (cant remember which) 32m.
it has more processing power, just does it a bit slower. I believe its because of Sandybridge's cache and improved front end throughput as well as the fact that it lacks a hefty FSB. It acts wierd, whooping ass in superpi, but clock for clock its not that quick. OCed the bloomfields have a lot of great advantage because of their huge FSB.
VERY nice OCNUB!!!!!
You have CPU PLL Overvoltage enabled right?
[QUOTE=maxxx;4702800]Am having problems with the F7a bios. Every time I reboot, it will start/show the F6x bios (the backup bios), then restart again to the F7a bios. It won't directly start with F7a.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have similair probleems with my f67a ud7, yesterday I disconnected the
powercord to replaced my hd5770 by an gigabyte 460gtx.
when I restarted i got "MAIN BIOS ERROR"
stress stress mb recovered from de back up bios and restarted with f4,
i'm reluctant to reflash to f6a.
do we have buggy motherbords rev 1.0 or are the new bios files not yet
stable?
I have been using Gigabyte boards for my E8400 chips with good success. I really like this new P67 UD7 but keep reading about how the Intel 82579 LAN chipset is much better than the Realtek 8111E LAN chipset?
Is this true and is UEFI really a good reason to go with a high end Asus/ASRock board? I am looking for a great board for SB 2600K build and with the new generation SSDs that are due out in a couple months. (C400/Sandforce 2000 Vertex3)
Any and all advice appreciated.
Great write up sin0822 and a huge THANKS!
The board seems to clock well but it feels like I stepped back in time 2 years. It recovers from a failed oc about as well as the p45 ud3p (not to good). Makes me wish I had waited for a MSI GD80, or maybe tried something different. It still boots back to the backup bios on a bad oc sometimes, also hangs up with a code 4E which sometimes killing the power switch helps but most of the time it requires clearing the cmos. I had all but forgotten the bootloop until now.
Or maybe Im just whining or having pms.
Did a quick run at 4.6ghz, with a little tweaking was able to keep vcore just under 1.3v.
This will probably be my 24/7 oc.
New beta BIOS is out.:D
The dual BIOS feature is a little sensitive right now and it trips a bit sooner than it should,BIOS guys will relax it a bit so it doesnt flick to backup mode so easy.
if you see it happen just flick the switch off the PSU and clear cmos and start clocking again.
