Oky been running for a few week and well. Hmm to answer the question on staining. youll love this ...
The nano flluid + Mayhems Dye
Staining is very light with the less darker colours. In fact in comparison to the same amount of dye in d-water the staining is a lot less. I think the nano fluid has a big part to do with this as the partials are moving around it seems to keep the dye in check. What i have noticed though that in the res there is a small layer at the top were the liquid is settles and its sort of left a ring (if you can call it that) of nano fluid (stained or unstained).
The Dyes are not braking up even in the injections system and the fluid is keeping it colour very well and not fading.
The Darker fluids that i am testing are all so keep there colour and ive been testing these long term in glass beakers. Now ive noticed with colours such as red + d water after 1 week in a strong dye solution it all ways stains, how ever with dyes + ice dragon fluid it doesn't leave this stain behind and ive simply washed it off no rubbing needed. Now all so over these periods of time you can see the Nano partials at the bottom of the beaker and they are still pure white and have not been effected by the dye in any way so this is excellent news as this means the its only the liquid being stained and not the nano particles leaving them to do the job they were intended to do ...
Personally i think this is a excellent product and if you what it dyed as far as im concerned it working perfectly fine.
A note to user though and this is important. If you fancy a very deep colour you are going to need to use a lot of dye and a 5ml bottle colour only 1.5 ltrs of ice dragon Fluid. If you after lighter colours then this is fine and will at least 5 to 7 ltrs depending on the amounts used.
Im sorry but gray fluid hmm if you what that creating its not going to be easy and it would have to be a 1 off special build.
Black is possible but again this has to be made by my self as i have to mix 4 different colours. I could make it in bulk but im afraid at this moment in time it would cost to much and i dont think it will sell that much. I may do 1 off bach but it will be at cost.
I have all so crated a lovely Brown as well that works perfectly with the fluid and it looks like Mac Donald milk shake. How ever im now out of fluid and cannot show any more pics and what we have is now in long term testing and im not messing around with it while its there. you'll have to wait 6 months before you'll see it.
There are some new colours and erm i would say "effects" i now have in my hands i would like to test with the ice dragon fluid.
this this will do for now :).
If you can make a 2 color fluid swirl. Lets say of 2 colors or fluids that don't mix. Name your price but I get first batch.

I did this a long time ago but its not possible to use it in a water cooling loop due to viscosity problems. I use a oil base, dyed it and left it for 3 months and added a acid. then neutralised the acid and the stain stayed in place than add that to a water based liquid.
two problems were found, one was the viscosity was to much and two the pumps caused it to go into tiny little bubbles and it just looked wired and not what i was after.
So a 2 flow mixture is not possible.. well not yet any way !!!!
Wait so it was one fluid with bubbles of another color in the or were the bubbles air?
Sent from my X10a using Tapatalk
No 2 fluids , 1 was a very light oil Stained and the second was water dyed another colour. the bubbles were bubbles of oil.
Oky i cannot it ive got hundreds if not thousands of pics ill have to look though them all. but here some pics of other fluids ive been working on.

it probably looked like one of those wave machines from way back..or, if you shake a lava-lamp you get that same sort of effect.
Yeh but after some thing like 3 hours it just looked like a complete mess and didn't work well. How ever now i have there new dispersant's to hand i may look into it again.
Ok those glow pic's are sweet. ..
I may do a couple extra loops of just tubeing with spare pumps for fun.
That blue would be nice with ap-121 in ice build

is this pure white? http://icedragon.mybigcommerce.com/p..._85966_std.jpg
First of all thanks to relttem for helping me on getting this fluid.
This is way better than my last coolant fluid xp nanofluid which is a junk comapred to ice dragon, viscosity is near water, it really helps on getting lower temps since the flow of the liquid in the loop is good while the fluid xp nano-fluid sucks big time.
I think clogging is impossible with this fluid. For the mean time here are some temp pics.
Distilled + Red Dye
This is the only pic I got with this color since it is just temporary

As you can see, temps are very similiar with the distilled. This is good news for people who wants white coolant with a very good performance.
I'll try to post installation pics tom, the photos are on my friends cam

Is that Tygon R3603? Either way I've ordered me a bottle to try out. Now only if we could get a nice black or grey coloured liquid.
You can definitely color it with Mayhem's dye. If you check out our facebook page you can see a hotpink in our pictures. Origin PC is going to try out some died colors as well. I was messing around with some of the UV dye tonite, and it works. You just have to remember that you are mixing colors with white - so a jet black would be impossible. A grey would be easy. We work closely with Mayhem and hope to test out some new colors soon.
rock on
Must say I loved the free shipping up in to Canada even. Can't wait to try this stuff out.
No doubt!!!. I use the fluid XP ultra. The ultra is (was) the same as the LT, but concentrated. I still have a bottle from 2007, and I mix it 4 parts DI 1 part XP ultra. I've had loops full of this stuff for years with absolutely no algae, no color fade, no corrosion, very minimal tubing stain, no acrylic stain, no clogs, no buildup, pretty much no problems!!!!
I've tried other dyes (cough cough primochill) and well they suck.
well i have now had Dragon ice fluid for quite a while now and i have never and any problems with it. Full stop. what more could i say.
it looks like this -

That baby blue colour is the deep blue? If so that will match Asus' blue colour scheme perfectly. The stuff that looks black in the second last picture, is that black?
Yes its black it took a while to make that colour but it is possible.
I made an order on the website about a week ago, and i still have not gotten any feedback. Keeps saying Awaiting Fulfilment! even though the payment went through on my credit card!
Any ideas?
how is the testing/making going?
will it reach the main WC sites?
Greece - you got your stuff, right? I haven't heard from you since exchanging emails.. When we send stuff overseas, sometimes it gets caught up in customs, but we don't know that unless we get an email from the buyer..then, we look into it.
The stuff going out to Russia and Finland leaves on Monday.
What do you mean "will it reach the main WC sites?"...like newegg? That is being worked on by Snowlizard...we should know soon. We talk to them on Tuesday. We are also still working with Mayhem Dyes..
I mean, PPCS, frozen, aqua, dasmod, etc.... well known WC sites....
Would you ship a bottle of the white one to Brazil?
Just put my order in... looking forward to giving it a go...
you cant beat that free shipping like lowfat said... :P
Yeah, you'd be the first to South America. We were just talking about that the other day - how we have gone to all continents but South America. The Free Shipping will end sometime in the "BER" months..SeptemBER/OctoBER..etc.. we haven't decided yet. We find that most people order at least two bottles, so we will probably do something like 1 for $30/ two for $55..something along those lines..just talk right now.
Does this stuff impact flow rate at all? I've noticed my flow rate is way down from my last loop. Barely pushing 1.3GPM w/ two DDC3.2's in an 402X2 w/ XSPC Rasa and Magicool 2x140mm radiator. Was around 2.11 GPM with distilled w/ a more complex loop last time.
lowfat.. saw you got some icedragon.. let me know what you think about it once youve had it for a while.
Well I think the issue is actually this Koolance flow meter. Power cycle the adapter and it shots up to 6500 mL/min (1.6GPM). Still way under what it should be. Time to try another block I guess.
Will do. I know one thing. That is looks fantastic.
So... silly question incoming.
Do you use a silver kill coil, PT nuke and/or a corrosion inhibitor with this?
I wonder what this stuff would look like in a frozen Q res - will it completely obliterate the coils, or can you still see them, and when illuminated will it glow white?
You won't be able to see the coils. The coolant is crazy opaque. We weren't even able to get a laser thru it when doing PIV stuff (http://www.lavision.de/en/techniques/piv.php).
Lets say my blocks are perfectly clean, added no dye to the coolant, radiators have been flushed many times over. In a perfect world how long should this stuff last?
I've had it, honestly, running for almost 2 years. It is a natural biocide, so no algae should grow. As long as you keep the stuff moving you shouldn't have any trouble. I have actually shut the system down for a month and started it back up with success. Of course spills and evaporation are nothing that we can help. You really shouldn't have any problems. If you do, please let me know. The trickiest part, as I think you have seen, is getting the air bubbles out. I ran my system with out a cap on the reservoir until the fluid was warm, and then I tapped all the places I thought air might be with a screw driver.
Would you please confirm something for me?
Looking at what I (and others) have theorized this is, this shouldn't have any problems with galvanic corrosion, correct? I have a project that's not computer LC that well, it is what it is and I think it would benefit from this. It's better than drain, flush, flush, flush, refill. I don't need your secret formula, just a yes or no on the corrosion issue.
Sorry, I didn't see this. No galvanic corrosion will occur. This coolant is mostly DI water. Then, we put in the nanoparticles. Right now the nanofluid has an upper limit of 115C. You have to remember that 115C is the fluid temperature, not block temperature/cpu or whatever you are trying to cool. We are currently trying to get it to a higher temperature for F1/Motocross racing applications. I know my bike will get to 105C, but I haven't seen it get any higher. So, you will have to consider that upper limit for whatever you are thinking about doing. We also have some mixes we have made for the military that go down to -40C. If you have any questions I will answer them.
@lowfat - yes, going strong for many months. Also, Mayhem Dyes can tell you how long he has had it running. I think it is 1.5 years. I am glad you got that air bubble out. I know how much of a hassle that can be..especially when you can't see them
rock on
just over 1.5 years no problems, no blocking , no naff all. As far as im concerned this liquid is perfect.
Your answer and the temp range was well sufficient. Thank you.
This is a press release. The temperatures reported in the press release were the temperatures that the company got when testing our fluid against their current fluid, which I think is Koolance

Then, this just rocks..I got this in the mail today.. I can't wait. We are booth 25404..start planning..

Looks awesome while on. I just tried it out because I wanted to see how it behaved.

Looks good still also. :-P I need thicker tubes so that you don't mistakes it fot white tubing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io_E...e_gdata_player
If there is free shipping on the 28th of October still, I will probably buy some for my next project. Probably won't be actually getting all my components until next year though :(
Free shipping will end the weekend after CES 2012
Quick question. Can this fluid be used in a water cooling system where the pc is turned off daily and remain off for a few days? Will the nano particles settle out in this application?
Thanks.
Has anyone attempted adding Mayhems UV yellow / green to IDC fluid? I think I would like to do a yellow themed build, but only if I can get a nice bright yellow coolant.
Yes, you can turn your computer on and off. I had one sitting for months and started it back without any problems. The nanoparticles are so close to being neutrally buoyant, that it takes a while before you see any settling. Plus, the surfactant will keep them from sticking together, so when restarted they mix back up. And, yes, I have done the yellow mayhems dye color, but the UV isn't very strong when mixed. The yellow is definitely a sun-yellow..not super bright as can be expected. But, if you look at Mayhem's new 'pastel' line, I think he has yellow in the mix.
Yeh we have yellow in the mix how ever its not UV yellow green. Its a new colour yellow that were testing out atm. It will hopefully on release on the 1st Nov 2011 once my boards arrive form gigabyte we can carry on the testing.
Our mix is a little different to IDC but we use there base product and adjust it to our needs. Mayhems and IDC have both been working together for a long time now and im very happy with there fluids.

yes they do.
If your going to the LITS show in London next weekend you'll see these fluids in a couple of PC down there and all so some of our other products.
Il be there as well with my business partner.
What would one need to make a darker red out of the one beside that green one pictured above?
Thinking of using some in my next build and going with red/black.
Link to what my loop looked like after 3 months. Definitely no separation or anything like that as far as I could tell. I will be using the same used coolant again in another machine here soon.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...65#post4976265
we just sent some Ice Dragon to Mayhem Dyes..all the way to England...get ready for his pastel and aurora release..should be epic
About 10ml of Mayhems deep blue in this cup alone. This stuff soaks up dye like it is nothing.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...yhems/blue.jpg
We got a dark blue using a little bit of purple. But, you have to remember; it is a lot of white and just a tiny bit of dye. That dark blue looks good.
glad to see you two teaming up
@ryan thank you, i have to say IDC is excellent to work with and very approachable. They all so have a no bull :banana::banana::banana: approach like us and are willing to listen. My type of person :).
@Lowfat yes it does haha but its fun to play with.
If any of you that have our coolant in their computers could send me a picture I would really appreciate it. We are in the process of putting together our CES brochure and want to have some pictures of people's rigs included in it.
icedragoncooling@yahoo.com
thanks
not immediately..I'd say by the last half of November.. yours would be nice because of the dye..
thanks
you can use the ones we have mate. there will be loads of pics hitting the net soon as well mate.

Hi,
How can I find out how much shipping for two bottles would be to New Zealand? Have tried going through the online store but it does not provide an estimate of shipping cost.
Thanks.
Does the free shipping apply even though its to the other side of the world? (New Zealand).
It is free shipping until Jan..so, hurry. But, we have a person selling in Melbourne. I don't know if that would be any cheaper for you tho - www.thekoolroom.com
This is Hannes build on here - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...culpture/page3
this is a quote from another forum discussing the same build (http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthrea...196978&page=19)
have I put this up here already?..did he?..sorry if I/he did
Over here in Australia we use 'zinc cream' as a sun block. I understand it uses nano tech (zinc oxide). You can get all kinds of Fluor colors and you can get transparent zinc cream. Would this be technology that ice dragon could use?
Zinc is used as sunscreen here too..but, in the case of our stuff there is more stuff added. I would imagine sunscreen must have some sort of lotion that is mixed in too..give it the creamy texture.
I guess I was suggesting as to he color of the liquid :) I am not sure what tech they use in the zinc cream...
I don't think it is the zinc that is changing its color..zinc is white. I'd bet they are dying the lotion. You can use Mayhems Dyes and dye the nanofluid any color you'd like..:)
I going to go white and use UV tubes. Only this is the res. I was planning of LEDs but it appears the solution will be too opague. I ordered 4 bottles. Now waiting. :)
Just wonder what effect inline filters would have on ice dragon. Something like the new Koolance inline coolant filter.
http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...roduct_id=1212
the viscosity for the coolant is a little greater than water, so the pressure drop across the filter would increase by a small amount. It'd be nothing to write home about. .27mm is actually not very small. Our nanoparticles are 40nm.. or .000040mm
thanks
double post..sorry
as many of you know we have been offering free worldwide shipping. That is going to end in one month plus a few days (The end of CES).. We are going to restructure our pricing, and probably have a minimum order for people overseas. So, if you have been thinking about it now is the time..
We have an H100 test running right now, and Husqvarna Motorcycles is going to be testing next week in some of their enduro bikes (Dakar is soon). We will post a lot of viscosity and thermal conductivity data in the next few weeks.. We are doing those measurements now - it just takes a while.
Finally, if you happen to be at CES stop by-booth 25404.. We are downstairs from the computer stuff..
Apologies if you've answered this already - is there a reason you can't ship to Florida? Just tried to order some, but it says it can't ship to my zip.
the only time we have seen this error is when you try to ship it to some place different than you credit card address.. The way people have gotten around this is with paypal. We have blasted BigCommerce over this error, but their hamsters are tired from running on the wheel..
that's all I got.. let me know if the paypal option fails..
thanks..
I also tried this morning and could not order via Credit Card or paypal.. Pop up window says it cannot send to my home address. I also replied to your email when I set up a user account at your store.
How about putting some contact info on your store web site. You are about to lose a lot of business. Frustrating to say the least.
At 8pm, just tried again and it does not work. Same error message.
I'll look into it, but we have been getting orders today.. I will check in with BigCommerce.. I think its fixed now.. let me know if it is not..
icedragoncooling@yahoo.com if you have any probs
thanks
I just sent an order to myself in MD, and it worked.. appears to be fixed.
All fixed now..:)
don't forget to stop by at CES if you are out there..
Yes, it is now fixed. Thanks.
would the use of smaller nano particles (40nm > ) help with thermal dissipation?
our size is controlled to a mean size of 40nm..sort of like a bell curve, and then we do one more thing to make sure they are all pretty much 40nm and smaller. The problem with going with the 20nm, which we did in the beginning was that it cost a lot of money to make sure the mean size in 20nm. There is no thermal performance difference between the two sizes. 40nm is still pretty small. There is a lot going on other than just thermal conductivity. When I finish our CES brochure, I will put it up here.. we hope to have some good data in it..we just have to finish the tests..
Everyone's order (28 bottles..yeow) is in the mail except for Puerto Rico..that'll go out either tomorrow or Friday..
Not much longer for the free shipping
Happy Holidays, everyone..
Was thinking about getting some for my reservoir that I am getting made but I was told to use their special coolant to help reduce fog in the reservoir. Don't have any pics now but it will be an 8 bay waterfall like reservoir, do you think your coolant fog it up do you think or would it be fine?
fog it up?..what do you mean. At CES 2012 I am building a dragon-computer in which the coolant will be in a pool/pond in front of the dragon - no radiator. I will have an ultra fine screen just below the surface to protect the pump. But, I don't think the coolant will fog anything up unless you start reaching the critical pressure/temp to cause fog. It is mostly DI Water. If you can give me some more details I might be able to better help you out.
thanks
Just a quick question, adding the Mayhems UV Pink to IDC dose not make the liquid glow pink in dark under UV Light correct? Even using the whole UV Pink bottle? This might be a dumb question, but what's the reason behind not glowing under UV Light?
Is there any other way to make the pink liquid "pop" at night? Such as white LEDs maybe? Also, when dose free shipping end? End of this month, or end of Jan?
It is really hard to add UV to IDC nanofluid. Mayhems has posted a pic of stuff he was able to successfully add UV glow, however it was blueish in colour (under UV). You are likely unable to get a UV pink glow easily.
we have a UV pink as well. just not posted pics.
Is that UV Pink under testing?
yes it is. it takes us a while to test things as we would rather it work well.
