skates - save the image to your hdd and open it with something that does .jpg's then blow it up to about the same size those are at.
why??(ive already did that)
Are you trying to say their screen shot is fake from toms??
Or that TOM, intel and asus are in cahoots, That's a shock!!!
Hmm whoever's gonna accuse, better get it right.
If it's True, Kyle @ [H] will have a field day, and forget his transgressions in the past.
Hmm wonder what's Toms forums are looking like about this. looked there once a year ago i couldnt take it!!!
Skate you go look for me!!! hehe:D
Maybe they started erasing it in the beginning, then later moved to the black-box method?
Didn't they get caught photochopping something before? Bad Tom, Bad!
edit 5+ ghz is a nice screenie... hope the article was good, i don't plan on giving tom any page hits.
They did originally have the black box on it.Quote:

It was there when I read the review.
They must have changed it.
Sovereinty - The place at question isnt near anywhere that had erasing and/or black-box done to it.
EDIT
The namestring was blacked out before...?
Nevermind you are talking about a different spot.
Yeah, just realized that.. my bad. *shuts up now*
:D
Did you know Mr Rogers. The guy that reads stories to kids with the long sleeve sweater WAS a Marine Core Sniper? His arms are covered in tattoo's. look at him now lol.Quote:

so on the hardware front I don't trust them anymore then I'd trust a priest with prison tattoos to be a boy scout leader.
"Welcome to my neighborhood, little boys...no just relax a moment while I put one in your buddy's skull and by the time you hear the shot, the second shot will be cleaving you heart too. Have a nice day and think good thoughts"
LOL
Those guys suck. What they did (faking the article) was really low.
And they don't even master some basic photoshopping :)
It wasnt faked. They definitely hit 5ghz. Impressive for anyone, regardless if they got a cherry best-cut-ever 3.4 ES straight from intel :/
they've been caught cheating before so it's kinda hard to trust them now even if you watch a vid.
you think why they shot a video? cos otherwise no one would ever believe them if they posted just a couple of screenies. lol.
Well with all the ยงยงยงยง they had, cherry cpu, modded board, ln2, 8 pounds of elmer's thermal compound (which they used about 4 pounds of), and a team of 5 people, it would be damn embarassing if they DIDNT hit 5ghz.
no bench is weird and it's not the first timeQuote:

http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/2003...es/5255mhz.gif isnt available (for the moment??)
No screen-shot now... that's odd.
heh, why am i not surprised? but tom can't kill this thread.
that's the IE cache :D
You can find the screenshots on their German site. ;)
http://www.tomshardware.de/cpu/20031230/5ghz-11.html
Jupiler, can't get anything from that link?
Does it still work for you?
they did not really did hit the 5ghz. Lot's of evidence for that (read the whole thread)
Not any more now. Strange.Quote:

I checked the site 30 minutes ago, and it was still there.
But I saved the 2 pages on my HD, along with the screenshots. ;)
Link is working again. Pics are still there.
i'm going to take a closer look at these screenies. maybe he replaced them with "better" ones:)
lol, don't forget to take a look at his latest 3400+ review.

Since we only had P4 processors with a fixed multiplier (multiplier lock), it was necessary to substantially raise the FSB speed to achieve a clock rate beyond the 5000 MHz mark.

Maybe I'm being pernickety, but surely that CPU is unlocked.
rofl @ the 3400+ review, I coulda predicted the last page almost down to the word, heh :D
The vid card looks like an MSI 5900.Quote:

Credit to tom or whoever he bought the benchie from, id like to see more on this and the chip, but it's probably going back to Asus "toms sugerdaddy" to whore thier next board.
Anyone notice that Big copper Flower heatsink on the Vidcard?? Anyone know what it is??
The cpu itself isn't at -196, it hovers like -90 to -110.
Wonder what would've happened with -196 on the cpu? :P
If it was -196, the die would probably crack and the core would distort. Then, the motherboard would instantly die from condensation and the PSU would most likely explode. THG, you are officially asspipes!
thats what cool down periods are for ;) gotta stage that -196 drop :DQuote:

Hmm... Just read the whole thread...
Seems like THG is cheating a little...
Of course its a handpicked... What wrong with that??? Macci also got X800XT-PE before the rest of us... I bet that was handpicked...
You want to look your best when showing your stuff to the world... So you pick the best of the best... Thats just freakin normal...
5.2Ghz is really good even for a screenie...
From what i can see i dont see why a FX-51@2900Mhz would even beat a 4.5Ghz P4???
But then again... The mem screenshot just shows... 3-4-4-7 with PAT disabled??? What were they thinking???
IS it true that CPU's :banana::banana::banana: up when they reach like -150c??? Or is it just a myth???
Btw i dont ever really see any scores from A64 or FX models on LN2??? Its always P4's??? Why is that?
So you think cheating is good?Quote:
