23db for the fan only or for the entire system?
23db for the fan only or for the entire system?
Compressor is about the same silent as fan.

This thing gets better and better!
But as I said earlier: the upper and the lower fan-grills wood look better if they both had the same design!
If you can make it honeycomb-style maybe that would look even better...
Your case is dope!
I understand you are going for low air restriction in your grills, but I agree with the above poster--it would look so much better if they were uniform. I second the honeycomb--that is a design that looks decent with big holes.
Thanks for comments. Does anyone have picture of honeycomb on PC case?

That is what I was thinking of, but there is a really nice artsy example I am looking for that someone did a while back, I'll edit this post when I find it.
We will see :)

Wow. Beautiful work there. You have talent
This is awesome!
One question from a phase-noob: my understanding is that when you are booting the system, you need to first start the compressor and wait for it to reach it's temp. How long does this take with these compressors?
So a 19cm deep psu, like the enermax 1250watt will fit??
Picture of set. :)

more later this week, gonna post some more with a mounted sr-2 and the final system with the 4way
sry was bit busy and I'm still waiting for some armaflex and watercooling stuff....at least I had time for some insulation and test mounting:

http://alexiel.stor.li/LittleDevil/evga%20mounted2.jpg
later more:
gonna mount the sr-2 and well I hope the devil won't kill me...but I gonna change the top to mount a quad radiator and add some space :)
EDIT:
for those who are always asking: yes an enermax revolution 1250w or a strider 1500w will fit without any problem ;)
Really nice! Waiting for final pics with watercooling installed =)
Ohh man LittleDevil I've been keeping an eye on this in good old lurk fashion, but I fell off the past couple of weeks. I had no idea someone had one, cant wait to see it all bolted up and running!
well not that much progress and I hope I won't get killed for it but I changed the top a bit ^^

and added another lcd for system informations

sry for the bad picture quality....: sr-2 ;)
http://alexiel.stor.li/LittleDevil/sr2case.jpg
Thats awesome sargatanas, are you just going to phase cool one cpu?
nah the sr-2 is for my mountain mods, was just for a picture :)
I'll use the 4way with that tower :)

http://alexiel.stor.li/LittleDevil/evga2.jpg
system running now, though pump location will be changed...made a lil mistake with the reservoir order >.<
Thats an awesome rig, please let us know what u get out of your cpu, I assume your running an I7?
yep i7, a 965xe atm.
only had a short test this morning while installing the lcd. well the phase was a bit bored with the 3,33ghz +linx....-40°c - -44°c
Those are some awesome temps, what are the sound levels like? I consider my comp too loud and the loudest thing in my case is a 120mm fan that runs at 1300rpm.
well I'd say quite silent for a phase change. though...ye but a bit louder than 1300 fans ^^
That is one the most silnet, unit with 180mm fan.

Professional grade build quality as always. This is interesting.
Very good job LittleDevil.
ye, it's rly awesome :)
glad that I have one here and running :)
Truly a work of art.
And temps after 4 hours of load.

Hi LittleDevil,
Those are some awesome temp for the loads.
Can you tell me will the compressor run at a lower speed when the computer is idling to conserve power?
Additional fan on side panel. Now units are finished :)
http://ld-phasechange.com/images/Lit...C_Cases/28.JPG
I also have them for other side, If someone don't like to have it here, it can be on the right side too. Only one is needed.
Was one fan in the backside not enough?
For 280W + heatload was not enough. Now it works like a charm =)
Regards
With new side panel.

pump location changed, like i wanted it do, looks ok for me
I liked the pure aluminium better than painted ones. Also fan place under the psu and the positioning of the psu are bit weird.. Otherwise almost perfect case!
Hey LD quote me a price for this case, Thanks
well some ppl like it pure, some powdercoated, some anodized and some just painted...though I'm sure u can talk with LD about this ;)
But no idea what u mean with the fan/psu.
The fan itself (and correct me if I'm wrong LD) is just for supporting the compressor down there, to get the heat out of the tower. About the psu, well no idea, I like the location, no problems with cables and it offers u the possibilty to mount ur pump under the psu.
And btw:
in my opinion, u'll never find the "perfect" tower at all, there are always some flaws or disadvantages. It offers enough room, options for watercooling and even hides ur hdds....and besides, the single stage is quite strong compared to the ones I've tested and they had way more room than in this tower.
what a shame you are not in Australia :-)
Awesome build, all you need now is a separate compartment for the beers and you are set for an all nighter :-)
<Ok, i am a noob, but it looks like a refrigerator cooling unit! :-) >
Henrik
PS: Wouldn't this be nice for an SR-2 build!?
I think what he means is that the fan beneath the psu would hinder air from going trhough the psu. As they are both in 90degrees to eachother the air will most likely stand still and not being pulled out at all. I think this is why Littledevil found it necessary to mount a sidefan aswell, though I suggest having the sidefan pushing cold air in for the PSU and somewhat remedy the -+0 airflow the rear & PSU fan does together.
Oh my. Oh my oh my oh my.
My level of desire for this case is now extremely high.
Some quick questions - rear fan is 120mm or 92mm? Still only five 3.5" internal bays? Finally, estimated cost including international shipping?
Regarding the PSU and airflow. I have an idea, that would completely remedy the airflow problem (not saying that there is one but there was one).
If you flipped the PSU to stand on its side, with its fan taking air in from the new fan mount on the side the PSU would always have maximum airflow and effeciency. The hot air from the compressor can then freely pass out from the rear fan and additionally perhaps another fan on the other side.
Something like this: http://www.overclockersonline.net/im...s/install6.jpg
Alternatively the PSU could be placed in the bottom with the fan facing downwards and sealed off.
In any case I would perhaps thermal isolate the PSU chassi. I think the hot air coming from both the condenser and the compressor is considerably hot in comparison to what the heatload a psu usually get from pc components when mounted together with the PSU.
I really love this case - Want one :)
I was thinking about that, but If I place PSU like that there won't be enough space for longer PSU's, because there is compressor. If side panels are on both sides, you can have one fan for pushing cold air inside, on the other side no fan or lower speed fan. I think that would also work.
Kind Regards
well so far: the lil fan under the psu isn't a problem for my psu at all.
had a lil linx 24h run @ 4,5ghz and so on, no overheating issues :)
Keep going!!
Is 5ghz attainable?
well, I'm sure the phase will hold it....but my 965 suxx.
currently working on my sr-2 build....but mb I have time later this week for my lil friend
http://alexiel.stor.li/intel.jpg
that guy will do it ;)
is that a naked 980x?
nah its a naked w3520 but clocks quite high ^^
well atm its watercooled, though I alrdy talked with LD about a phase change for my mountain mods so lets see ;)
Sounds good very good!
Next time you load the system for a little while, could you perhaps be so kind and maybe measure temperatures with a type-k probe (if you have one) around different areas, ie INSIDE the PSU and also what hardware you are using of course.
Thanks bud
Yup, looks nice.
Hehe :D :DQuote:
I was hoping the LD could make a Phase Change for dual processor
Thanks
henrik
sure, I'll check what I can do for u ;)
;):D
oh and finally...it's time to change the ugly psu cables to better looking ones +it's perfect to hide the koolance qdc :D
http://alexiel.stor.li/LittleDevil/epssleeve.jpg
though....mb I should re-sleeve em white...not sure atm
WOW!!! Amazing stuff there LD
If I needed a powerhouse like this, I'd have to order one of those. As it is, I use my i7 920 @ 4.2GHz to surf the net 99% of the time :p:
@ sargatanas....I hope you're planning to put that 4-way board to good use  (um,m, 2 more cards? :D)
well 2x5970s atm so not that bad ;)
I wanted to order 4x5870s or 4x480gtx...not sure so far if I use em for the 4way or my sr-2 (though....might be a bit too much for that lil 480 radiator so we'll see) ;)
oh about the psu:
u could change the psu backplate and use one of these lianli psu extender, I think it gives 6cm more space
kinda like I did it:
http://alexiel.stor.li/v2000/25.08.%20psu1.jpg
http://alexiel.stor.li/v2000/25.08.%20psu2.jpg
sargatanas, its good solution but it ruins the impresion of a case...
LD, great work ! im thinking about buying this case for around a month, but the money is my problem with buying it ;>
Here are some ideas:
-quad radiator solution on a top is a nice idea for this case,
-fan grills on the back of the case would look nicer is the same style as the one on the side to help psu,
-maybe you should think about selling it with water cooling instalation already placed in it, as you would gain customers who are rich and seeking "lash" stuff like lc'ed pc but they have no knowledge or skill to instal water cooling system on their own
ok, have to admit it ruins a tower, though sometimes u dont have another option.
well I wouldn't offer it with watercooling gear equipped. why? well there are so many parts, starting with radiators, reservoirs, cpu blocks and so on and you can't please everybody.
+ ppl will only see the cost of it like: omg this is expensive!
+ it takes some time for LD to install it too, time he probably doesn't have +adding even more costs for his time for the installation
+ if you aren't able to install a watercooling system at all then it's kinda silly to buy one with a phase change too :)
think quad support is alrdy planned iirc. fan grills might be an idea, though it's fine for me, the phase needs as much air as possible and would look strange with this fan grill at the back of it.
my point was that the fan "covers" (dk how to name it) on the back the one next to power supply and the second one next to expansion slots aren't really nice looking,
next idea is to put some removable covers on the expansion slots as when somebody is going to put some uv light in that case ist going to shine like a christmas tree...
Nice pics @sargatanas.
Thanks for all nice comments guys.
Here are some pics to see how fan is fixed.

OMG thats crazy!! Same temps on both CPU's?
I just bought an SR2 setup 2nd hand but it's this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...source=froogle
It's currently doing 4.2Ghz on each chip and is mentaly fast.
Would you need to have the cases made if one was to be ordered? Can you do a build log for the dual single stage in the phase section please?
Oh and would you be running 2 LCD's for the evap temps on the case?
I was building/testing that unit long time to reach the same temps on both evaps.Quote:

I have a few more cases here, only holle in teh middle part needs to be bigger.
I don't have much pictures of this unit during build. I will post some more when it will be completely finished.
I will use 2 LCD displays, one will be in the 5.25 slot.
Next time I can make worklog.

Hello guys, thanks for all nice comments :)
Kind Regards
This is insane dude...:D Well done.
It can be easily used for simple systems, one evap at cpu and the other evap at gpu...;)
LD,
Very nice work! I am very impressed with your skills. I am glad that there are takers.
Been feeling really bad.
Henrik
yep impressive work :)
and atm, even my board is asking all the time: when do I get phase`d. so hurry LD :)
http://alexiel.stor.li/sr-2/sr2.jpg
guys tell me how this would work with one evap pointed on cpu and 2nd one pointed on gpu?
Graphic card needs cooling also on memory not only on gpu therfore there would be some other cooling needed as well...
Ld i cannot wait for this double solution as it would be very silent and efficient cooling solution for day to day basis...
The best is phase change on CPU and watercooling on GPU, because it will be hard to make full cower evaporator and hard to insulate :D
Kind Regards
Everything is possible :>
Look at coolers for gpu, the ones like accelero,
instead of having heatpipe going into radiator there would be needed connection between heatpipe and evaporatorbecause you can easly insulate a heatpipe instead of insulating gpu and then just use 2 coolers on both sides of evaporator to cool graphic memony ect...
That build would be actually awesome to use on day to day basis as there wouldn't be many fans needed in the case as the 2 most heating components would be already extremely cooled ;>
It would be extreme silent pc ;> and seconndly you would be able to use 2 fans on the compression part of the fc to make the noise even more bearable...
There would be no point, anybody serious runs triple or quad gfx, imagine the size of the phase system needed to cool cpu, plus 3-4gfx cards....
Yes everything is possible, but there is not alot of users with only 1 GPU. That would also be unique unit only for one graphic card, because users can't change "full cover" evap without rebuilding somplete system.
Kind Regards
yep, single gpu suxx :D
I ran cascade on cpu and single stage on gpu most the time. It was loud and costly but worked! Insulation of the card is not easy, hopefully in time they will make them easyer
I still think that the best way is Phase Change on CPU and watercooling on GPU's ;)
Kind Regards
LD haven't you thought about changing the top of the case to fit 3x 140 and be able to mount 3x 120 as well?
