Really nice session,,,,
Good work guys
Really nice session,,,,
Good work guys
this is the spirit!
Sick work! We want board pics though.:D
Awesome resultats guys ;)
Have you got an idea about lauching of this amazing motherboard ?
Thanks
Hi 0cool
I will put up more info soon on this board i promise but right now is still not the right time ok  and thanks for the comments :)
I am going to do some testing in the next day or two to check some minor functionality of the new EasyTune software with profiles integrated which will allow people to change speeds on the fly (real time) via this software. That should be pretty handy in many benchmarks i think
Dino
Very curious about this board, especially if its a new high end board from Gigabyte. Hope the NDA isn't too far off.
hahaha u guys had a great time
nice board coming, thats good news.. and congratz for the great work.
ps. i kill u racing
Impressive stuff guys, keep up the good work. Seems you guys had a great time.
amasing work lads, looking forward to this board... it might be very stiff competition to the REX III and Classie boards...
i saw Marc in supermarket today

Hey dinos22, is there an NDA on that board? How come there are no pictures of the board ??
I remember seeing some early model pics...
http://img441.imageshack.us/i/ceu4tkw0tfba.jpg/
I really hope it doesn't have quite so many molex connecters since it's first showing since Cebit...
God damn NDA - I WANT TO SEE IT NOWWWWWWWWW! >.<

On CeBIT2010 has been mobo X58A-UD7P:
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/3...c00349s2nj.jpg
But isn't that the board they changed to be the UD9?
Maybe I'm wrong...
~Bex
That prototype earlier board, I hope that is not the final retail version because it looks dull and ugly. Why change the heatsink into a boring generic looking one for compared to the ones on the UD5 and UD7?
Because it's not the final cooling design and secondly I really hope Gigabyte will ditch them silly heatpipes : one seperate cooler for NB, one for SB and one for the PWMs... no heatpipe links plz... Dinos and mr Handley can arrange that I'm sure :)
nothing wrong with heatpipes :D
Why transfer heat from the IOH to the PWM or SB area ? Why not isolate it and address cooling on the spot... No heatpipes seemed to be the general concensus for enthousiast boards among die hard overclockers at a competitors meeting in Taipei (starts with an M and ends with an I) ... you don't have to listen to me ofcourse :p
what are we back in X48 days again :p:
why always so high strung? Havent you learnt anything last year :( (these are hypotheticals dont answer it :p:)
i do know what you are saying. I was pushing for that solution back when it was really needed when we were pushing 60% more voltage into MCH but now it's not necessary and the block has been provided for a long time to be used in the w.c. based system to remove heat where it is mainly generated. The way it's designed now makes sense to me and I wouldn't go telling MSI to change what they have done. I have been a good friend of MSI people and have tried to help them in the past where they really need help, bios, their hardware is fine i think :). Sure there will still be a small handful of people which will require aftermarket solutions and that's fair enough. Please don't bug me about stuff like this or try to make a show of my threads like you have last year.
Here's a picture of the board loaded up.
(I need to take some nice pictures of the board on it's own)
thanks deanzo
i see just 4vga 1 pot and corsair :D
show us the mobo
Omw!! Looked like Allot of fun guys :D!
Dino's thats the coolest world record ever ! Hammer wr haha.
Yea this UD9 looks like a beeeeeeast and i couldnt have suggested a better bunch of overclockers to test it ;)!
Keep em coming
a few more pics, i dont have great ones of the board close up, but you get the idea !

Why did Gigabyte rename the UDP7 (showed in Cebit) to UD9 ?
http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/3675/ud9.jpg
Just took a fast picture, note that this is still pre retail.
Finally, a picture of UD9, looks pretty nice, much better than the previous one. That SB heatsink does look quite big though, but I'll assume when the final retail hits that number 7 will be changed to 9.
The SB cooler is big because it must be cooling down some nF200 chips :p:
Gallery here:
http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/Gallery/...therboard.aspx
but still UDP7
That s the right one with 9 written on SB cooler in place of 7 :yepp:
BTW PCB is still UDP7.

Like this , it s better :D
http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3675/ud9.jpg
the rig looks evil rigged up with 4 SOCs , when seen from top .. superpipe anyone
Ooooo smexy! Can I lick it? :D
Is it EATX now or just large ATX?
~Bex
watercooled cooling array like on BR! nice! :toast:
whats up with all the weird logo stamps around one of the cpu mounting holes? LOL
sli, xfire, dolby??? sata???
omg! hahahah
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...y/IMG_0219.jpg
I wonder if I should sell my UD7 and get this board, it looks so tempting and nice.
Are you going to overclock your CPU with Liquid Nitrogen ?
If the answer is no, then you shouldn't get it, as you won't see any difference compared to your current motherboard in every other task.
thanks guys
The cooler will change and it will be called X58A-UD9 officially
It's not finalised yet
Got a couple of photos myself...........
James thinking about which OS to boot into

floppy and ide connectors should be gone by now.
ide it/s not that bad. SATA hdds can "eat" high pcie, IDE can.
looks awesome guys, nice work!
HAHA nice, didn't know you guys read chinese :D
wtf http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...y/IMG_0219.jpg stubby holder photo
pffft chinese .... so easy
google translator ftw
yeah james made some stubby holders for all the guys with different nicknames
i was Mr.Grate Sukseees or something lol
board looks great. I look forward to using it :)
You guys sure had fun there :D
Maybe next time I can join the party!
Late reply now but a week and a half ago James did some testing with his X58A-UD9 and Gulftown and got the SuperPi W.R. (now beaten)
Watch the CPU clocks on this run and compare to top score ;)
http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=864364
5m 38.828s
Gulftown 980X @ 6387 Mhz, Uncore 4945 Mhz
Corsair GTX2 @ 1030 7-7-7-20
Gigabyte X58A-UD9 motherboard
Antec 1200OC power supply
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...030_77720_.jpg
only at 6387mhz eek. Go keep pushing it above 6450mhz with this efficiency !!
i believe that this is the CPU limit now unfortunately but you can see with 200MHz more you'd be looking at 5m28s or so
will this be know as ud7 xtreme?
Does the PCB will stay as 4-way classy format :)?
I hope they don't include the huge piece of junk heatsink gigabyte includes on their extreme models...imo the h20 cooling should be eleminated as well since the barbs are hella small...most of people just change the entire heatsink and replace it for a full-cover water block...
Anyways good job guys! really impressive numbers + motherboard as well
WOW, nice scores dudes. You are crazy hahaha
Thanks for the information and pics.
Regards :shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:
no notice about his release and price?.
Nice SS and WR Australian guys :D
cheers guys
hicookie did some benching recently and took the 3DMARK05 & 3DMARK06 with 60775 & 46920 scores with the X58A-UD9

About right in OZ UD9 is AUD$647-747
AUD$1 = US$0.885
do you get Hicookie in the package to setup ya rig ?
Sam you are beginning to worry me
LOL, don't worry dinos, it is a BIG box.
There is room for both of you, but maybe it gets crowded and he has to sit on your lap. Hopefully he doesn't bite.
Holy cow sh*t  , Buying from newegg after taxes and shipping to Puerto Rico $752 US Dollars if i want that Board  , Does it comes with an (ES) cherry Gulftown included  LOLzzzzzzz ROFLcopter wtfbbq :poke:
