Since we seem to keep coming back to the 240mm Asetek....mine keeps a Q9550 at about 22-25c idle in my HTPC. Under load it stays fairly low (under 50 if I remember correctly)Quote:

I was always surprised one could even buy the LCLC 240mm on it's own!
What of NorthQ, do you know if they're coming out with a unit based on the new Asetek's?
I've emailed their sales dept, but thus far I've had no response.
That northQ is the exact same unit I have just with their name on it. The only "new" thing I would expect to see in a revision is the improved copper plate that the H50 has. The original LCLC is not the best cold plate but it will do. The real limitation is the narrow tubes and pump. I only bought the unit as a substitute for a big air cooler, I knew it would not match a good water loop. The 240mm LCLC was up on ncix for a while, I got mine last summer.
If they did a model with the fatter rad, thicker tubes, and the 240mm size, I would be excited. Other than that nothing out currently is impressing me in the AIO space. The only reason I really put any confidence in the 240mm LCLC I have now is because it was the exact same model used in the XPS 700 and the HP BlackBird 002 - both of which managed to tame a pretty well overclocked 65nm kentsfield extreme quad core (not a cool chip at all haha). Those were really the only way to get reviews on the unit as well since they are pretty much an OEM company.
A quick search now shows only ebay for the 240mm, shame I think it was a good value unit with obvious advantages over the H50

In which case a decision between the LCLC_240 or NQ-3590, & Eco C240 becomes the only option.
Well, LCLC 240mm = NQ-3590, so hope that helps narrow it down ;)
I think Asetek has pretty much abandoned the 240mm design unfortunately, the new OEM stuff is all 120mm rad if you have been keeping up with it all. And given the availability of the 240mm LCLC....I would have to say go for the ECO 240. You are not looking for top performance as much as you are something that fits your needs. It sounds like the CoolIT does that AND is readily available at the same price. I think this is a no brainer for you at this point ;)
Crap I think you're right, I've just noticed that the 550LC & 570LC might only be 120mm.
I saw someone talking about these "new 240mm offerings" but never closely scrutinised the specs, & took what they said to be factual *face-palm*
If in-fact they are only 120mm, then you're right...
It's a toss-up between LCLC 240 & the Eco C240, & the decision gets much easier, thanks!

The 550LC seems to be pretty much a re-badged LCLC 120mm....
The 570LC has a thicker rad, hence improved thermal resistance at the same airflow.*
The 570LX (bizarrely not mentioned on Asetek's site, but definitely around) I suspect is just a re-badged LCLC 240mm.
But I'm still verifying this...
So that I think rules out the 550/570LC (I thought they were both 240mm)
As I'm sure the 570LX (LCLC 240mm?) will be a better performer than both!?
So it's down to 570LX (or the LCLC 240/NQ-3590 if the 570LX is a re-badge) or the Eco C240.
*There's murmurings the H70 is based on it, much like the H50 was based on the LCLC 120mm.
Not sure if Corsair did some substantial tweaks, like they did to the H50 when they based it on the LCLC 120mm.
Seeing a picture of it, I would say with complete confidence that the 570LX is the 240mm LCLC unit. The pump is the exact same on the outside......and given that the 240mm LCLC is pretty hard to come by these days, I would say just get the ECO C240 and enjoy the fact that it is competitive or better than most to all air coolers.
I've been corresponding via a reseller in New Zealand (authorised dealer as they build custom PC's with asetek's gear)
And they claim that it's an improved LCLC 240mm, still confirming that that's what they meant...
They suggested that the water-block's been improved... *shrugs*... I'll keep those interested posted!

my thoughts are,
-Asetek doesn’t sell any dual rad kits now.
-The old Asetek LCLC 240x120 and the NorthQ Siberian Tiger II has the old pump/cold plate revisions
-The new Asetek coolers in their website now like the 570LC (equivalent to the H70) and the 550LC (H50) are based on the new revisions so they are not really different from the H50/H70

I’m not interested in any of them but just asking. currently I’m torn between the H50 (seriously… this picture is pure pr0n :D) or forget about any half assed solutions and build a custom WC setup (or at least the Swiftech H20-22) if I want to hide a dual rad at the top.

But like the LCLC 240 it's not commonly available in the retail channel...
I've found no proof to suggest the H70 is exactly the same as the 570LC.
But there's no doubt it's based on the 570LC, & hence very similar.....
It's commonly known Corsair improved their H50 over the reference LCLC 120mm.
Whether or not Asetek incorporated Corsair's twks into the 550LC, or whether they did some twks of their own, I don't know.
When it comes to these 120X120x25 AIO LC systems, I personally don't care...

Still awaiting field data highlighting exact performance differences between LC* & LX.
I did get this vague explanation:
"570LC has stronger performance at lower noise levels.
570LX will deliver a bit better performance if you run the fans at full
speed."
Apparently there's a chart with more detailed field data, hopefully I'll be allowed to see that soon.
Apparently the 570LX is a re-badge, although the person who claimed this had incorrect info in other areas.
So........
$223.4 Aud for the Eco C240
$200.7 Aud for the 570LX (postage is an educated guess, YTBD whether they'll even ship to me)
$330.5 Aud for the H20-X20 (not inc. postage, hopefully postage won't be $85usd like coolit!?)
If total cost of H20-X20 is $390 Aud or less, then I think it'll be hard to ignore.

I just built a new I7 system this week with a Asetek 240mm Radiator and it works extremely well. It dropped my temps down by 17 degrees, idle/load from a cooler master v8 (38 idle, 68 load).
@jalyst, out of the Aesetek (570LX)240mm, eco 240, the cosair h50 and coolit C240, the asetek is the one to choose in terms of value. you probably can find one for $100us shipped with out the cheaps fans. i puchased mine with two 120mm 1200rpm that wont do much cooling.
With performance in mind i have 4 fans in a push pull config(intake) and my temps are around 21c idle and 52 load, north bridge is 41c idle/load and motherboard temps are 28c with my I7 over clocked to 4Ghz 24/7. My games dont go over 48c for cpu but my gpu is at 72c.
I choose fans that have high static pressure and high CFM that can push air through the radiator with a high flow rate.
The 4 fans that i have on the radiator is two scythe slipstreams 120mm x 25 1900rpm, 110 Cfm and 37 Dba doing push, and two Enermax vegas (led)120mm x 25 2000rpm, 84 Cfm and 16 Dba doing pull.
I have a Fan Controller dedicated to my radiator only b/c noise is noticable at full throttle espeically the two slipstreams on max, so i set them to them at 1400rpm which brings the noise down a great deal.

For fans I recommend Gentle Typhoons. I have 5 of those in my desktop and they are quieter combined than 2 scythe s-flex G fans
They are EXCELLENT radiator fans (for 25mm thickness)

Where did you find the 570LX for $100 USD without fans?
eco 240 & coolit c240? There's only one, & it's called Eco C240.
H50 isn't in the running for me, nor is the LCLC 240mm.
I think you can have some of these set-ups fans controlled by mobo PWM.
i.e. dynamically adjusted according to temp...
More ideal IMO then a dedicated fan control device.
