Wow, you've completely improved the inside of the Corsair case!! I love the additions that you have made. Keep it up!
hey what ram ?? and ram block ??
Such a beautiful build, ding! Totally feeling the textured black.
I've always been an admirer of your sleeve color selection. I would have chosen purple tubing though err... purple liquid.
I remember back in the day, Hulk always had purple pants for some reason. :p:
More please!
Looking SWEEETT!!!!
It was beautiful your case! congratulations, I loved the system that hides the source of the rest of the pc!
Small update for you all.
Meet the twins, twins, meet the audience...
(I'll be using a black 90*)
http://i49.tinypic.com/2evvxp0.jpg
Not all is glamour, as you can see, the 90* hits the backing, so, I need one of THESE but it's around $20AUD shipped for the fitting + it'll take around 2 weeks. I should be able to work around it though, even if I have to use 2 45*'s together. We'll see what happens. My reservoir should be here in ~2 weeks so that means I'll be at completion!

Looks excellent there mate, have you by chance seen the salt and pepper shakers in Matte Black for the D5/MCP655 Mod Kit in
CptDreadFlint work log, they look sweet.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...235290&page=11
Yep, I think you are bang on with that.
I intend to only use the black sparkle BP fitting on my build, hopefully starting in Jan 2010.
super duper hulk pumping power!
looks 100% awesome
considering all that advices that you give on this forum I imagine you as old and wise modder with 30 years of watercooling and casemodding experience teaching noobies (like me :)) how to do this thing
so L:shocked:KING FORWARD to your new build, this is gonna be great
Loving the twins, ding! Black sparkle and Matte Black do go well together.
Looks like everything is coming together this time 'round much smoother.
But ouch for $20.00AUD for an extender. :(
When I was in Aussie, a 750ml bottle of bourbon was close to $40. Ouchie.
Damm right we do, for everything.
It makes me cring when I see the prices over in the states, you can add 30+% just for the fun of it over here.
As to the "old and wise modder with 30 years of watercooling and casemodding experience" not true, especially not the old bit, well I am getting there at 37 years old I guess.
But what I do bring to the table is 20+ years of fabrication skills working in a variety of industries from welding fabrication of truck bodys to striping and re-building blast drills rigs on gold mines,
to a wood machinist in a salvage yard, I like a change, to mix things up a bit.
I do know my way around steel, aluminium, perspex, wood and worked with high PSI hydraulics before. Thats how I found out I hate grease, oil and most of all black jack.
As to the water cooling PC side of thing and building a PC from the ground up,
you could probably teach me a thing or two.
The most important thing I have learnt in life is "All I know, is nothing at all" and I really do mean that, there is just so much knowladge out there, a life time of learning wouldn't even scratch the surface.
The best thing anyone can do is seek out the people with the knowladge that they need/want, listen and ask (hopefully) intelegent questions.
Thats why I am here at XS, I feel it's the best place to learn about WC PC and pass on a little knowladge to others, I hope you don't feel I have miss led you in any way.
I am really looking forward to starting this building as well.
:rofl:Thats my fault I must of hit submit reply when tickling my son, I know you shouldn't rev the kid up before bed, like I get told that each night.:ROTF:
Ok Ok the laughs are on me for not reading your whole post:ROTF::ROTF:
Well done 10 points to you Sir:up:
kgtiger, friend, didn't wanted to offend you in any way, I hope you got my ideas right. I do appreciate your knowledge and advices you give
dingdong sorry for the OT in your log
It's ok GK, I know when I am being revved up, I have worked with some pretty sharp tongues in the past, what and being burnt by weld splatter have given me pretty thick skin.
As for you ToX, you'll keep, I'll get you back one day. :yepp::ROTF:
Ok, Ok, so now we all know where we stand. :D
It's Back to you Dingdong for another update.
I'd just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy new Year!
I'll have a nice update for you all on Monday next week, see you then! :D
Happy Holidays to you, James. Hmmmnnn, another update - just what does our young modder master have in store for us now?
Thanks guys! Been working full days for the last few days now, had no time to do anything! Can't even go to the gym or my daily runs! :shakes:
Thanks Sharron :) You'll see...Monday is coming! ;D
Postman came today! Usually he comes in the morning but he came in the afternoon today, I was VERY eager to receive this package.
EK Supreme HF!! Let me say, EK are top quality, they've recently moved to a new box design and it really helps sell the product, packaging is even better too!
Here we go.

Nice box inside the cover

What's inside?
http://i47.tinypic.com/2s8iqsm.jpg
EK have everything needed now for a liquid loop, apart from their own fans/tubing, I'm expecting to see some kits soon.

Well packaged!

The quality is truly amazing, more updates to come :)
nice one!
awaiting ur updates! :)
Nice EK block you got there mate, do you know if by using the different jet plates, will it make a difference in water temps at all?
Holy packages! It's Christmas all over again in here! Nice delivery, ding!:D
EDIT: EK's new package design looks great.
Dig the "Do Not Forget other EK products for your watercooling system" smack down notice.
It looks and reads like a warning label. lol
Thanks! :)
Cheers, I think the jet plates differ for different pressure/flow. So, depending on your loop, they may have a slight temp difference,
Haha, thanks Capt :) PM coming for you too...
Just curious, what size compression fittings are you using? I noticed they have ones specifically for 1/2 in Tygon tubing as well as 1/2in 5/8 od
Obviously, new EK's rebranded MX-2 looks fat and handsome out there mate. :) EK's new packaging is really great but their new logo reminds me the Transformers everytime LOL!
Looking forward to update my bro.
Cheers,
Arthur
Ding, you son of a gun, you're using my block!
I was hoping I'd be the first around these parts to sport Eddy's new HF. :p:
Ah, well.. I'll have mine in a couple of weeks. We'll differ somewhat since I'm going w/ the plexi top. Looking good there. I like Eddy's overall makeover that he's done with the website, packaging, etc. Looks great.
They're Normal 1/2" ID 3/4" OD compressions.
Haha, their logo is also very similar and reminds me of Etnies shoes, my friend has a pair and when I first saw his shoes I had to look twice, wasn't sure if he was cooling those things!
Haha :) I was suprised how quick Aussie retailers got it this time round,' we weren't the last, we were one of the first! Amazing IMO :)
Thanks guys.
Hey all.
Another update.
My GPU finally got here...finally, and I stress that word since it has been sitting in America doing nothing for well over 2 weeks.
Sorry for the bad pictures, it's late and there is no natrual light ATM...

What GPU block will you be using? :)
Boheya! Very nice!
show us some moar! :D
Love the fittings. Looking into those for Project Slumber Parties on White tubing. Only thing is everywhere I look they treat a bunch of them like gold. Its cheaper to just get silver and get them powdercoated. LOL I'm still a cpu, fittings, tubing, coolant, silver away from getting PSP up and going. Sigh.

Thanks guys :D
Hey all.
You know how I got that 5850? Well, I sold it about 5 minutes later, my friend kindly offered me a new card which I couldn't resist :D This will be my 2nd last update before I go away on the 18th Jan - 28th Jan for a holiday right before school starts again. During that time, I'll have my FINALLY 3 parcels delivered which means when I get back, you'll see multiple updates from me and last but not least... a finished build! (fingers crossed). There is still one slight twist to come, more on that when my reservoir arrives.
Anyway, nude shots will come soon! :)
http://i49.tinypic.com/ao5ddt.jpg
Thanks all.
looking forward ;)
that card is huge...
soon the graphic cards are gonna be bigger than motherboards!!
Great swapping of cards, James. Does the 5870 also have that "hulkish" green back plate the 5850 had as well?
Can't wait for the twist and most of all have a great time during your holidays.
Have a sweet holiday mate.
Right on the beach hay.
If your gon'a break out them budgie smugglers, Don't forget to slip-slop-slap that sunscreen on.
Oh neally forgot, don't forget the Airoguard and you'll have a great time. :yepp:
Looking forward to your back-to-back updates when you get back champ.
No I didn't see that, guess it's google time again.
block beautiful, congratulations
This is my last update before I go away (tomorrow, for 10 days) I'm still deciding what reservoir to go with, wait for Iandh's res, or, just go with the EK250 res. Ian's reservoir is much better IMO, it's just the wait that will kill me as it's the LAST thing I need for my build.
Anyway, my EK package arrived which I was expecting during my holiday! It only took 4 business days to get here which is SUPER quick! The problem that I had was that the stock OR EK backplate hit the MIPS block, this is an issue ONLY with my board blocks AFAIK and a backplate will not hit the blocks on a classified. I couldn't change my layout as it would have been too hard, *Out comes the dremel...ZEEEEEEEEEEEE ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
It now fits like a glove and looks pretty cool too. (sorry bout the dust guys!)
http://i47.tinypic.com/j5f3es.jpg
One thing I was amazed at is EK actually thought about us users with 1/2"ID 3/4" OD compressions this time, you do NOT need to use a 45* or 90* for once! w00t.
http://i48.tinypic.com/xq06r.jpg
The nickel goodness.

Thanks!
Nice! Enjoy your holiday, James.
Almost there mate and looking good! Enjoy your break
Looks sweet champ.
With just a little rounding off of the corners, it would look EK factory made, well done mate!
Enjoy your time off. :yepp:
Man I love these EK blocks...
Can't wait, but I hope you have a good time!
The black compressions make your backplate look even more killer, James.
Enjoy your time off at the beach and hopefully you'll be greeted with a small gift from me upon your return.
Take pics if you can!
enjoy your holidays mate ;) looking forward to you to come back and show us something new here
Back from holidays!
Got my new reservoir yesterday, EK250 res, then sold it in about 5minutes, I know, I could have finished the build but I just bought a different/better/you'll see reservoir which got shipped minutes ago., via express of course. It'll be here early next week I hope, then, the HULK will/should be completed :) There is still one little suprise...
Well, here is a small update to keep you occupied until I get my final piece for the build early next week :)
Sorry about the picture quality, I forgot to turn ISO back down to 80 so there is a lot of noise.
Meet the twins.

Glad your back mate.
Looking forward to seeing this up and running.
Looks damn nice man keep it up.
Wish I could get sponsors for my build so I can actually finish it.
can't wait to see it up and running! nice job
awesome! give us some night shots :)
that looks awesome.
Wow! Love the twins, James. I can't wait to see how the flex lights up your system (show night shots!) I'm glad to hear you're nearing the finish line on this incredible build but sad that I don't get to see more surprise updates.
Always been a fan of your color choice on sleeving and you certainly didn't disappoint again.
Do I win anything if I guess the res correctly?
(Frozen Q's UV Green?)
i wish i got as nice sleeving as you got :O
Question: Why do you have those two pumps connected to eachother? just to uhh.. speed up the liquid?
Anyway. This looks sick! The colours are just perfect!
Cheers kg :)
Thankyou!
Thanks Ak! :D
Soon, once it's up I will, I suck at night shots though :(
Thanks Tox.
Cheers Cpt :) I'll be sad it's fnished too but hey, I still got your build which is making more and more anxious to see the final build. And BTW, your guess is wrong ;)
Hehe, yes, the 2 pumps connected to each other will result in more flow/powa.
perfect, beautiful, congratulations
perfect pictures
Thankyou very much!

Tomorrow is the day people :)
Hey guys!
THE INCREDIBLE HULK IS ALIVE! Yes...you heard me!
Finally shots won't be until Fri/Sat as I'm EXTREMELY bussy until then. Sorry about that!
Anyway, here are my shots of my new reservoir made by Iandh himself, these are a masterpeice and will be available from sidewinder.com soon, so sit tight. The reservoir is very unique, especially the clamps, they really do look "stealth." I'll keep this short and show you some pictures -

So, until the weekend, you'll have to wait!...
Argh I feel bad! lol.
nice dingle!!! Ive been hitting refresh at sidewinder every hour now since I heard the news that iandh was releasing it there (couple days ago).... you're a lucky guy :P
keep up the good work, very pleasing to the eye...
p.s. I copied your idea to hide the mobo tray holes/ lower PSU area... although i took the lower piece past where u did and bent it around the corner of the mid-plate..... just thought i would let you know :P haha
What is the res brand?
Cool project
Ian at I&H makes really nice stuff ^
Great build dingdong  I haven't seen an Obsidian build this Epic.
Excellent to see Dingdong, looking forward to the final pic's of this build mate.
Are those brackets made of ali?
All I can think is "finally, a case mod with no Bloodrage, Classified or red anywhere!". It looks great.
Glad it's back together!
And the case upgrade is nice too.
Your balance of colors is exquisite.
Hahaha, thanks!
Thanks Shazza, quick explanation for you. The bottom 3 ports are like an EK cylinder, pretty standard, except, the bottom DOES have an inbuilt Anti-Cyclone which is great and keeps those vortex's away. The top port is for filling and allows you to fill the reservoir above the tube into the hollow cap so you can NOT see any water line :) Pretty sweet but basic feature!
Thankyou VERY much :)
I'm itching to do final shots guys! Sorry for the delay.
Thanks :)
This build is quite nice as well.
They are laser cut steel sheet, the housings are tig welded, and then the fingers are rubberized and assebled with the housings using high grade machine screws.
These are built to be a one time purchase.
You're the first customer on planet earth with one of these in hand btw...
lol
I believe that some more thorough pics showing that should be on the "official" thread for these in the LC section. :)
Thanks iandh for clarifying that.
I am really impressed that you have made some holding brackets with such high quality.
It was the weakest part of res's like this.
The fact that have high quallity parts and "These are built to be a one time purchase." I feel is a really good thing.
Well done mate.
Awesome score, James!
Just in case the excitement makes you forget and not that I don't think you will, but sharing more res pics installed to your already amazing lookiing build would be a super awesome eye-candy surprise.
Thanks Ian for tuning in!
More shots tomorrow ;) Spare time then.
Here is a teaser for you all :D Sorry, I know I'm an ass :)
http://i45.tinypic.com/2s0hf0m.jpg
I'm jealous.. (but I don't have that kind of money to spend on a rig.) I've been wanting that case since pre-production, but the price won't let me.
*subscribed*
a teaser indeed... looks great! cant wait to see more shots :D
a question...
do those screws pose any problem with your window,or did you modify it to make it work? ...the window on mine sits flush with mid-plate; its a little bit tighter now with the 18 gauge steel panel in there; dont know if i can put button head screws in there... maybe if i went counter sunk...
Why would you do that :(
wow dingdong. that last shot is fantastic.
