So, three 450GB 15000rpm drives at $500 each, plus a good RAID controller is still the better option (for 1350 GB total), and could also go down in price too. I wonder just how much faster this option is...
It'd be interesting to see SSD's start giving SAS drives a run for its money--competition is always good for us!

That's pointless. Unless there's something after 2:40 they are benchmarking cache only. They could do it with a single 4200 RPM 1.8" laptop drive and get exactly the same results.
LOL, I can't believe how many times marketing guys will try and pull wool over our eyes and get away with it.
It's just a Highpoint 3520 Raid controller & some ssd's.
