Well, this is a nice case. I'm glad to see Corsair also making cases now, it's never a bad idea to diversify your product line. But I don't know what people in this thread are on about. The TJ07 is still king. I don't see why you would even compare it to it. This, aesthetically speaking, is a V2000 replica so comparisons with that case would be more adequate.

Yeah, something clean and functional. Nothing too fancy because that would take away from the contemporary look of this case, which I really like. Maybe a flat black squared handle of sorts.

Look closer at the top of the HAF 932? It looks like it already has hole pre-drilled for this Radiator and Others like it.:up:

Corsair has a great Case, I'd just disagreed that the other case makers were missing any sleep over it.

I've seen the HAF personally and the corsair space between mobo and top looks a bit more bigger than HAF :) thats just me I could be wrong tho.

Judging by the pics I'd have to say definitely HAF has more room by a good couple of cm at least, remember HAF fits an ATX PSU at the top too, at least 2cm space at the top and 2cm space from the mobo

what I meant is that in the HAF you can fit an ATX PSU at the top with about 2cm room at the top to spare and about 2cm room from PSU to motherboard, just means a huge amount of space, enough to easily fit that fatty rad :)

the default location is at the bottom in the HAF because you need to remove the top 230mm fan in order to fit a PSU at the top (you can still add two 120mm fans with normal length ATX psus though)

Anyway, back on topic, someone who works for a big retailer in UK contacted Corsair about pricing, apparently initial price is £260-270! holy hell expensive :eek:

Thanks Donnie for bringing this up. When you consider that Corsair will be focused on intaking air from the bottom, it's puzzling that there is no filter. Many of us already have a case on a desk/table to reduce dust intake. My LL PC-A70 is the first case purchase for me to have filters. It's seriously amazing how little dust there is in the case b/c of that.

And the mobo tray is what I would consider a no-brainer for the $250+ crowd. The materials, OTOH, I really don't care as long as it doesn't rattle. The LL, being my second case since 2001 (first was my 8-year old Chieftec AX-01BLD), is aluminum just like my first case and has a tendency to vibrate very easily b/c of it's weight. If steels helps it be quieter (P182 for example), then material is not much of a deal-breaker for me.

They mention in the video that there will be filters for the bottom intake fan, just not in that display unit as it's a very early sample.

I agree about the removeable mobo tray though, that's pretty much a given for any case in that price range. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's one of the things they "hadn't done yet" in time for the show.

Not to be contrary, but I truly hope they don't mess around with the Thermochill fan spacing. TC is making up an ever smaller fraction of the radiator market due to their higher prices and muddled supply chain; and moreover, every other significant player in the market uses the same 15mm fan spacing that TC chose to break from. I would say that TC owners should resign themselves to either buying custom TC friendly cases (like Mountian Mods), drilling their own holes, or getting those radgrill things specifically for Thermochill rads.

As for the case composition, I would naively say that an all/majority aluminum version, although sexy, would represent a significant cost increase. With this case you are paying for the SATA hotswap functionality, and painted interior whether you like it or not. Note that the Lian-Li PC-X price point starts at $370 (midtower) and consider what type of premium you would have to pay for a predominantly aluminum version of this case.

All things considered, mobo trays are nice, but now that producers have gone to the open space behind the backplate design they aren't as big of a deal.

I hear you about the Lian LI and rattles. I have to bend the hinges each time I remove the side panels.

Any High-End case should ship with filters IMHO. After cleaning out my wife's computer last week, I jerry rigged some for hers.

We didn't bring this up to be off topic. I hope Corsair is listening and implements the ideas many of us mentioned here. If they don't, then many of the other companies will not only not loose any sleep, they'd not even care and have little to beware of.

Even if I don't buy one, I'd feel good if they changed something that the buyer did enjoy. Someone else having a better experience because of those changes is great.:up: Again, I like Corsair and I think they earn most of that premium others were complaining about.

i like everything except the ugly rubber holes

something just occurred to me.. it looks like intake goes through the bottom, and exhausts through the top. 3 x 120 radiator exhausting heat doesn't sound nice.. fresh air to the radiators is muy importante.

I am pretty sure this is an issue faced by any top mounted radiator setup. You are either faced with the proposition of exhausting warm air into the case or cooling the radiator with air that is already above ambient. Aside from a TJ07 style compartment design I don't really see a way around this.

I think you should make 2 versions of this case: The alluminum one (300-350$) and the steel one ( 200-250$). Do this and everybody will buy it, enthusiasts and not enthusiasts. :up:

This case is awesome and looks almost perfect to me. The only thing I'm not sure of is graphic cards ventilation : will one 140mm fan, placed in that position, be enought to properly cool two or more graphic cards?

Maybe you should turn the hd-cage 90 deg. right, in order to put the 120mm fan that cools the hd in the front. The 140mm fan that cools the vga must be put behind the hd-cage in order to create an air tunnel and blow air to the vga. The side panel must be modified in order to be able to remove the hds, using hot swap, from the side of the case...Maybe I should post a picture. Mmmhh the wole structure must me modified to do this..... Well I hope your structure will be good to cool vgas anyway..

I really like the inovative ideas with the PSU cables to MB/PCI-E power behind the motherboard. But to be honest, the case looks like :banana::banana::banana::banana:. If they only did it better looking i would be interested.

Earliest is May release last I heard, price is still TBA until final changes are confirmed, don't expect it to be cheap though, I'm thinking at least ATCS-840 price.

As for some comments, no matter what Corsair do they can not please everyone, so whatever they finally choose to implement will most likely be decided on pleasing the majority and design/cost constraints

Looks like a very nice case.

I don't really get it why they bother with 3,5" slots at all, just go for 5,25" all the way with adapters to 3,5" to gain tons of flexibility.

Anyway, it's a clear winner in my opinion, avalaibility will certainly better than MM outside the us and it does not suffer from plastic over use like the cosmos, so it will be the best case on the market that can fit a 360 rad without modding.

It will be interesting to see what the absolute final design will look like, I personally like the way the cable management cutouts are rubber "guarded" the way they are

make it 8-slots pcie brackets and this would help sell alot more since most users have a X58 like Rampage II or gigabyte for example that need a 8-slot case for 3-SLi because of the pcie been placed lower than usual...

case looks great, hoping to hear more about the changes and case in general soon.

the price point doesn't sound bad considering all the little extras and attention to detail.

my lian li pc-75 was about the same price and other than being all aluminum doesn't hold a candle from what i can see.

the combination of steel and aluminum doesn't bother me much. most large cases like this don't get moved a lot, and as long as the right parts are made from the right metal i'll be happy.

one other complaint i've seen is the non removable mobo tray. i don't see it as a big deal since the mobo tray has all the cable routing holes in it, you'd go through more work removing a mobo tray than it'd be worth IMHO. besides, it's a full size case, there's going to be plenty of room to work. the few cases i owned with a mobo tray i either was forced to use it removed because the case design was so cramped, or i never removed it because there was never a need.

just my thoughts of course, and it's nice i can finally post on here!

Redbeard, in the final version, which radiator will the spacing for the top mounted tripple radiator be compatible with? As far as I know the spacing is fairly varied between different manufactures.

There are really only 2 radiator spacings, Thermochill and everyone else that matters. I am sure there are some wonky euro manufacturers that use a spacing other than 15mm (the "standard") vs 24+mm (Thermochill). I know this doesn't answer your question but considering the question has been asked at least 3 times in this thread I would say that either nobody knows or those in the know don't really care.

thermochill is 24.5mm currently and in the future rads too be released this year they will all be standard 15mm spacing. This case should be only 15mm

worst part about this case is i'm gonna have to upgrade my ultra 120 (non-extreme) to a True 120 black, and i really should change the blue ramsinks on my g.skill for some black ones, it's only the right thing to do.

i hope they really go head first into making cases and come out with a lot of case accessories like lian li and coolermater.

i'd definitely like to see the spring loaded optical drive covers like lian li has. or at least make the case so the lian li covers are compatible, doesn't seem too difficult.

also extra bay accessories, so you can add more hdd hotswap bays, or make a bay accessory for adding another 120mm fan in 3x5.25" bays. oh and if they do that, make it so you can clean the filter without disassembling the whole front of your case, i'm looking at you lian li!

being able to buy extra bay covers is nice too, maybe even perforated/vented ones, same goes for i/o slot covers, nice black vented ones would be great.

making your cases similar enough to allow for such accessories and allowing the end user to decide what little extras they want is definitely nice. the side panel for instance, make a non-windowed panel as well as the windowed, maybe make it optional. i'd personally like to see the windowed model as the default, but i like windows.

that's one major thing that has kept me with lian li for so long, i've been able to get all sorts of extras for my case that match and fit lke a glove. i think it'd say a lot about corsair's commitment to cases if they offered replacement parts and accessories the way lian li and coolermaster are.

most if this has been addressed. the the "pcb" you refer to is for the hot swappable hdd bay, i'd almost bet it'll be a black in the final release. they could make the drives slide out from the side, but that's less convenient than swapping them out the front.

one thing i wouldn't call this case is unattractive, even if it's not your personal preference as far as style goes, it's far from ugly. sure it could be called "plain" but that's going to be what people are going to gravitate toward. there's something to be said for sleek simple lines.

just because it doesn't look like Voltron, Optimus Prime and the Mega Zord had a love child doesn't mean it's ugly.

the fan spacing at the top is going to be changed in the final version as well.

The inside looks excellent outside front looks boring, apart from the Harddrive extraction part the top just looks plain need a cover like the antec cases to hide CD drives, come on how often do you use cd drive hardly. Also USB/ sound at the front is needed.

I like how this case looks but in the end the price will be the deciding factor

there's usb and sound ports at the front, next to the power and reset buttons, i assume it's a door that covers them, maybe not functional with the prototype, but when they took the front bezel off you can see them.

I went back and saw the video at Hexus for this case. He said "$250 to $300". So maybe there's hope after all.

Working on it - for the most part we're down to hammering out little imperfections and annoyances at this point.

We have over 50 changes (some large, some small) from the version that was on display at Cebit.

I was looking at the Antec 902 or 1200 for my next build...but so far I like the Corsair much better. I've always used Antec for my builds....

I hope you guys have made the case 8-slots (last cebit pics it looked that could add one slot more) instead of 7, Lian-Li is the only brand making a good-quality case (P80) with more than 7 slots I think...(new TT armor as well but that case sucks imo)

What's up with the gay little plastic windows on cases?

Personally, I'd rather have a meshed sidepanel case like the anubis or osiris, and not the huge covers the mobo tray+half the 52.5/3.5in bay window

i'd like to post this in [H] since that seems to be where redbeard is responding but they don't allow registration with the 3 most common email providers so i guess i'm not welcome :(

anyhow i'm hoping they offer some way of stealthing optical drives. it's always an eyesore to have a nice clean case with an ugly beige or even black optical drive in the front. they just don't with in with all their plastic and crap.

something like what lian li uses would be great.

hopefully red beard is still tracking this thread.

Hahaha, okay. The case went out with Lindsay Lohan last week and was photographed by paparazzi who then chased the case and Lindsay into a crowded bus station, at which point the case punched a photographer from TMZ in the jaw and snapped his $5,000 camera into pieces.

Then it effectively cooled a three-way SLI Core i7 4.2 GHz gaming rig and allowed for excellent cable routing.

All in all, a full night.

Not stock, but the front panels are fairly easily modded if it's something people want to do.

I'm just waiting for more manufacturers to make optical drives with black brushed aluminum faceplates.

The case is immune to STDs, thankfully. That's actually what's been taking us so long to release it. Building up that immunity.

We're doing our best on release - we should see early samples hitting shelves before too long. Probably not in May, but soon afterwards hopefully.

-Unit will ship with window. We will probably end up selling a solid-side-panel on our website for people not interested in the Window.

-Well more than wide enough for the TRUE+ fan or the Noctua cooler or the Megahelms cooler, etc.

-Toolfree drive bays will also allow you to use screws if you'd rather use them.

-Yes, black PCB and there's a cover that goes over it so it gets hidden when not in use.

-Not sure on maximum card length but this case is fairly massive, haven't had problems building a system yet. 24" x 24" x 9"

Overall, not bad. I would say that im not a big fan of plastic tool-less designs, let alone tool-less designs n general. I would have to see it in person to determine if its any good. Now, i do like the top triple rad fitting area as well as the clean looking front panel power button. The externally accessible fan filter is also a great idea that some case manufacturers forgot to do right :up:

Hey Red Beard, I was wondering if it is a fully aluminum build? Or is it a mix of steel/aluminum?

I cant tell from the pic, but it looks like it might take a PA120.3 natively now?

Looks like 15mm spacing still (personally its a good thing)

Judging by the new top pictures, the top should have a plate that we could change between Thermorchill dimensions or either the stantard ones... not thermorchill only, since not everyone has one.
