Hey Shoggy, thanks for the pics. Can you tell me if there will be any mixed metals in your product or is it completely copper/delrin?
Printable View
Metals are the same as all our new blocks: nickel plated copper. :)
Its an acrylic body like our VID-398GX2, very similar actually. Biggest difference is that the nozzles will exit the block parallel to the board rather than perpendicular such as our 9800GX2 block.
I don't have pictures right now, but its one of my favorite video card blocks :D
Shoggy -- What US Distributers will get this first?
Shoggy, I really am liking the design of Aqua Computer's 295 block. It really looks nice and very flexible. I wonder if the stock casing can still be put on afterward. hmmmm
@dorian: I think Sidewinder Computers will have them first.
@BlueAqua: nice idea but that won't work.
Which inputs are these blocks going to have the three plugs on the side or the usually sli plugs?
God, I don't know which to choose!!!!!! I just got my gtx 295's and While I really like the design on your block shoggy, I just got rid of my EK 9800gx2 blocks and I liked how they performed! Plus on my x58 board the Swiftech SLI fitting worked perfect with the cards right next to each other. The way the fittings connect to yours it wouldn't let me do this, but eddys blocks look like I can do the same thing!! By the way Eddy, your 9800GX2 blocks rocked!! Keep up the good work! :D Although, Dean, your blocks would be mighty sexy if the fittings were vertical!
WOW is there a problem with saying quad sli is broken? because quad CF is too.... I was just saying before that the 2 280s are better generally than 2 295's, but then I was reminded andy is using them for crunching then obviously 2 295s are better.
why do you constantly say i'm trolling? is it because you think that quad SLI isn't broken?
Hey guys,
Take a look here:
http://www.aqua-pcs.co.uk/nvidia-gpu-blocks-280-c.asp
They look very tasty!
Why are people, and admins no less, taking this far off topic?
I thought this thread was about waterblocks for the 295?
Anyways, looking forward to Eddy's block.
EK is, imho, by far the most attractive waterblocks.
have to admit I like the Koolance Nickle and acrylic middle thats just sexy..
I'd say without seeing the DD offering yet, without question the Koolance is indeed as you say the sexiest yet...
http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...-nx295t_p0.jpg
I am not that concerned with form over function and would be happy enough with great performance, I currently have two EK blocks and they are stellar performers. I have never used Koolance so I can not really comment but they seem to be popular.:D
Eddy, was just curious if you are going to make a plexi version of this block?, with 5mm holes for leds. Just like the GX2
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&d=1232553723
Me wants nickel-plating! :D
Me likes bunch of shiny metal very much indeed! :D
Hi!
There will be 4 options of the block.
Plexi
Acetal
Plexi + Nickel
Acetal + Nickel
Also, for plexi versions, there will be two 5mm holes for leds.
Eddy Thanks, I'll take plexi + nickel, how nice will this look with blue leds shinning off the nickel and plexi, I think i just !@#$% all over myself
That will make it a hard choice now that Eddy is gonna do a plexi nickle set.
This one should be considered too!

Wow, Eddy, You will have a nickel, plexi and a nickel, acetel! Well, since your blocks were awesome on my 9800gx2's I have to wait to see your nickel blocks, but its between you and koolance now!!:D
Is it possible to fit the videocard's housing outside the block this time too? :)
whatever ends up being the cheapest way to get my 295 under water is what I will get...
You'd want to pick something else than 8xAA... I'll explain why.
nVIDIA's GT200 and GT200b as well as the previous G80/G92 cards come equipped with what seems (at first glance) like being an Impressive set of TMUs. The kick is that when performing Anisotropic Filtering or Floating Points Texturing (such as HDR) your TMUs are halved (so 80 TMUs in the GTX 280 turns to 40).
The same can be said with the RBE (Render Back End or ROPs). The GT200 and GT200b come with far more ROPs than ATi's RV770 BUT when doing 8xAA (REAL 8xAA not the fake CSAA which only uses 4 samples and which Crysis and many games default on nVIDIA hardware therefore creating an apples and oranges scenario when comparing to ATi which does REAL 8xAA you can verify this by opening up the Crysis config file and right there you'll see that the nVIDIA 8xAA setting takes 4 samples and is called CSAA whereas ATi settings detect at 8 samples for full RGMS AA) the GT200 and GT200b lose HORRIBLY. Try it yourself. Set your nVIDIA AA in the control panel to 8x and set it to override application settings... watch the slide show.. ATi users now you try it and watch the nice fluid pixels.
I used to be a big time nVIDIA supporter until I uncovered that most of their performance comes from driver tricks rather than real hardware goodness. Too bad for ATi though, their drivers just aren't up to par.
Now add what sniipe was talking about (due to the frame buffer size being 1GB vs. 896MB) high res gaming is just better on 4870 X2 and is about to get even sweeter with the Catalyst 9.1 drivers.
ATI fanboy detected!Quote:

jkjk
I am still in the process of whether or not go to with ATi. I use to have a 4870 512mb and the drives are nightmares. Also looking at games right now, Crysis is the only game that matters on my 1920x1200 resolution. If ATi drivers can get as good as Nv's I am all over the RV770s.
EK's GTX295 blocks are going to be availble after 2nd February

man, I was spoiled by how cheap my MCW60 is...
Danger Den waterblock.
Pics should speak for themselves.

Pretty in a less industrial way to the others. I sort of like the little curve near the fan holes.
The Koolance Block still looks the best so far! I was going to order 2 today, but they are out of stock now....:(
How long do you think it will be before we start seeing a comparison between these blocks? Its interesting to see that people are already making their choices on the looks alone, and not the performance.
Having said that, does anybody know if/when/where the koolance blocks will be avaliable in the UK? :P
You talking about me?
Guilty as charged:

:wasntme:
Can i honestly ask how many of you guys intend to quad gpu? and if you do, what psu's your running.
I intend to buy one of those cards. =)
I'm running a MIST 1000w. Pretty good powersupply. Got a lot of good credits. :)
What is this angle with you upper card?!?!
After some experiments with that card we also added two laser engraved Delrin backplates for a better cooling performance in the voltage regulator area:

shoggy
more pics please..internals if possible
We always paid attention to the design and a plexiglas middle part would be miles away from out regular style. Let's call it a corporate identity problem :D

That's all. I do not have any internal pictures yet, but maybe tomorrow or the next week.
Shoggy: Are there any stand-offs included in the package? :)
Four pieces for the end of the card where the voltage regulators are placed. You can see them in the first picture of my last post.
Yes when you mention it... :p:
Should have seen them. :p:
Where should I be able to order your block? Directly from your homepage? :)
Anyone know when to expect the ek 295 block stateside? I've already oredered a few international parts for my next build and wanna avoid any more unnecessary shipping costs.
Our third shipment should be in Monday... I'm excited about this launch :)

:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:
Dean have you guys done any testing with a back plates for the vreg's? like aqua blocks... i know my evga came with one too, I have the koolance block waiting for me at UPS but they arnt open on the weekend so i cant install it yet. i also have a evga back plate coming to see if it will fit with the water block installed,
I was just wondering about something, does the EK GTX 295 block come with the 5mm Leds included? :)
lol. Figures. few days after I order one straight from slovenia, ppc's has it =)
Pretty sure it doesn't. It clearly says prepared for leds...
You can get dual headed 5mm LEDs ... this pic shows the Bitspower and the Feser versions. Feser is in the center, shorter cable length than the BPs.

n00bs. Make your own. I just bought a bunch of uber kewl color-changing LEDS. They need NO controller as they just change from one color to another and blink here and there. Just need to solder a resistor inline with each one and hook to teh 5 volt line on the PSU.
The aqua computer one looks very nice, defiantly what I had expected from them. One thing I could see going with there style is some sort of plate to fill the hole where the fan was. This could also say made in Germany or the cards model number ect. I just think it might accent the look more
Why the f*ck did PPC raise on the EK GTX 295 blocks?
Suppose they're startin to run a little bit short on them, but I dunno.
With stuff for 800 bucks to order, I cant really afford that "dramatic" changes in the price range for the blocks.
Hope the prices wil drop soon. :(
Which is the best option for a noob to WC? I was thinking Koolance is probably the most user-friendly.
Also, when it comes to Nozzles; which is best?
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=217398
this where ull find some info on fittings. BP (bit power) are the best in my opinion.
here is my work in progress
My results with the Koolance block for GTX 295:
Overclock: GPU 752MHz, Shaders 1521Mhz, Memory 1300MHz
Temps: 40C Idle, 48C at load 4 hours of Furmark, no artifacts.
Voltage: Bump to 1113mV using Evga voltage tuner for GPU stability. I don't think shaders works well with voltage bumps.
I haven't done any benches. This is with 120.3 and 160.1 rads, and an E8400 in the loop.
