That doesn't sound right. Core i7 is a single die CPU... I can't see any possible way for temperature deltas of 10C+ between the cores...

Mine show that much from time to time *at idle* on Core 3 - they get closer as it warms up, but Core 0 is always highest. Sensor discrepancies..

Is there any new about the deluxe V2 version?
Gr Yil
Thanks for info !!
Does it also improve stability at *same* voltage .. or only help to lower voltage for a given setting, however stable that may be ?
ie. If I leave my CPU @ 1.4V and change delay will it improve at this setting ?
I am going to try tonight .. so I guess we will find out :)
Hey guys I have a couple questions. Why is it when I set my BCLK Freq to 190-220 my Dram Freq shows very low MHz memory. Meaning I can choose something like this 1200, 1500, then it shoots up to 2100? Is this a board or CPU limitation? I feel like it is missing some more choices between 1500-2100? And my other noob question is where is the uncore setting at?
Yeah thats the memory multiplier at work .. you get x6, x8 etc.
190 x 6 = 1140 Mhz
190 x 8 = 1520 Mhz
190 x 10 = 1900Mhz
190 x 12 = 2240Mhz
If your not seeing the 1900Mhz .. I dunno maybe P6T doesnt have this choice .. maybe upgrade the BIOS to latest
Either way unless you got super fast RAM I would stick with ~1600Mhz no matter way - theres so much memory bandwidth on these new motherboards doesnt make much diff ..
As for Uncore Clock its hidden by default I think you have to set AI Overclock Tuner to Manual .. or CPU Ratio .. one or the other and it will show the UCLK ..
Big big big big thumbs up to the new bios for me.
I can finally run 12 gigs of the Corsair 1600 @ 1600 + :)

My P6T Deluxe will arrive tomorrow . . . to replace two defective Gigabyte EX58 Extremes. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the Asus board, which is what I should've gotten in the first place!
Wow your kidding .. so this means they have officially gotten rid of the 6-slots-No-1600Mhz limitation for all brands of memory ?
The next question would be .. how fussy is it over timings if you mixed a 2nd set of 3 sticks of a different brand/timing .. would it dumb them both down to the same common denominator (as my old Inspiron lappie used to do) .. or treat them individually ?
Are you guys having sleeping issues with this board?
Well I am running Corsair Dominator 1866 6 x 1GB sticks. Trying to figure out this board setup compared to the old FSB setup on the x48 board I had.
So having a 965 CPU will show the missing below?
190 x 6 = 1140 Mhz
190 x 7 ?
190 x 8 = 1520 Mhz
190 x 9?
190 x 10 = 1900Mhz
190 x 12 = 2240Mhz
So far this is all I got too trying to figure out the memory settings. Still pushing. :yepp:

perma turbo is (would be) cool . . . if my fooking Giga board would work!!!
If you knew the ridiculous drama I had to go through with my two Giga Extremes, you'll understand how glad I am to get rid of them.
I'm fairly sure the P6T Deluxe won't be my long term X58 board but I got it at a VERY good price so it'll hold me over until something better/more mature comes along in the near future. Most importantly, I just had to get away from the EX58 Extreme . . . I was ready to toss my whole system out the window.
edit: and btw, I'd swap boards with you but, really, I wouldn't wish that Giga board upon anybody . . .
Well I congratulate you !!
Added the 100ps delays and lower CPU to 1.3815V (from 1.4V) and its passed all my standard quick stability indicators ..
Cinebench Multiple Loops (>5)
OCCT 5 min
Prime Small FFT's 5 min
SuperPI
wprime Multiple Loops (>5)
I'm fairly certain it would not pass all these with anything <1.4V before ..
I also happened to upgrade BIOS to 1102 at same time .. but I doubt this had anything to do with it ..
Now might have to try for lower voltage !
Thanks again :)
Anyone tried Extreme cooling on their P6T Deluxe /i920 ?
I gave it a run with Dry ice yesterday and observed some weird issues.
It seems that if the temp on the pot is below -40c degrees, there is no POST at boot.
It is only at boot, as I was able to work even at -60c degrees in Windows.
I am trying to figure out if this is my crazy CPU or just crazy Motherboard.
BTW, I am running the latest bios, 1102
im thinking of getting this board but i want to know in a nutshell what the issues are with this board. cheers in advance
i never use sleep mode but can it be fixed with bios updates? matter of fact can all these issues be fixed? are their any issues that cannot be fixed like maybe physical aspects of the board that can create issues?
i know that in the gigabyte boards, if you put a huge cpu cooler in, it blocks one of the ram slots
Anyone get past 4.4 with this board? I need some settings because i'm stuck at 4.4 and have tried everything.
I have done past 4.4Ghz with the board, did 215x21=4510Mhz.
My i920 Is watercooled, all parts and cooling is in my sig.
The settings I used are pretty easy:
bclk: 215Mhz.
DRAM speed: 1720Mhz (multi x8) also ram dependent
Uclk (uncore): 3440Mhz (multi x16).
CPU Voltage: 1.58xxv (don't remember exactly) YMMV.
QPI/DRAM: 1.575v
HT: Disabled
Speedstep: Enabled
Turbo: Enabled.
DRAM Bus:1.64v
That is pretty much it, I was able to run Super Pi: 1M, 8M and 32M, so it was benchable, not rock solid stable.
I gave my system a run last night with dry ice, and I managed to pull the max out of it, 222blck x21 cpu multi.
the settings were pretty much the same, minus the QPi voltage, it seemed I could bench the same with just QPI voltage left on AUTO.
P.S.
Its maybe my chip, but I noticed that going above 200blck (3600Mhz QPI) requires significant increase in QPI voltage.
P.S.2
I see you have an i965 Extreme, so it is basically a whole different story, Just Kick the multi up and increase the voltage, easy as pie.
Aside from that, you might have a really bad chip.
I looked at the release notes of the latest P6T DLX bios (1102).
It only mentioned resolving memory compatibility issues, no word on S3 sleep issue so I wouldn't count on it.
Certainly NOT true.
I use SAS adapter, Perc 5/i without a problem, worked flawlessly on all latest 3 bios versions too (09xx,1003,1102).
I had this issue, just disabled sleep mode, why in the world a PC needs sleep mode ?
Just put the screen to turn off after about 15-20 Minutes and its fine for me.
You are spot on - I got the P6T Deluxe to replace two just horrible Gigabyte EX58 Extremes, where S3 sleep mode simply did not work, period (didn't matter what the BCLK is set at). The boards had other issues as well so I got sick of them.
The P6T Deluxe has been considerably better. S3 sleep is not perfect but it does work up to a certain OC level but I don't have any of the other issues I had with the Giga board. And the P6T overclocks every bit as well as the Giga did for me (this was really the only plus of the Giga board).
I'm an hour into Prime95 small FFT as I'm typing this @ 4.0GHz (19x211 @ 1.4000v) with HT on and 12GB of Dominator DDR3 - not bad.
Anyone having issues setting uclk to anything but AUTO? With even conservative settings (in line with everything else) I get no post if I define the clock. I have no issues defining any of the other settings.
I just got this mobo and wil install everything tonight. Quick question, can I run dual OS??
Any news about the V2 one ?????? Already official but not available .... Common Asus !
I want to buy a P6T Deluxe V2 ;)
I wonder, is possible to run SLI with top and bottom pci-e 16x slots (i.e. skipping pci-e 16x slot in the middle)
Ok, I broke down and ordered the Open Box deal of the P6T Deluxe on Newegg. If this board comes comletely bare with no accessories, besides the backplane, what else would I be missing that is a must have?
Not really, I never use anything besides the backplate. But the Q-connector helps a lot.
Ok, I figured out why the ftp server in the original post that has the BIOS updates does not contain the new 1102 BIOS. It is the wrong location. I used wireshark to find the URL from which the bios is downloaded when you select the global server, and this is the URL:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...ELUXE-1102.zip
But if you remove the filename to just see the directory contents (for newer BIOS updates, or betas and such), it just says file not found. Anybody know how to see the directory contents?
Man why does't this thread get as much love from ppl? ;)
I'm running a P6T vanilla, and there is only one silly bios upgrade that I haven't tried yet and won't.
Damn I just found a stability problem here
If I leave *everything* on auto. The system hangs after about 5 minutes...
I never knew that because I overclocked it from day 1.
Anyway it took me a while to find the reason..
When the pc idles, the multi goes up to x22 and the vcore goes down to 1.0v, that is probably too low for my processor, and it hangs the system...
If i set manually in the bios 1.05v, I can idle or prime for hours and nothing will crash..
Lol wtf is wrong with this mobo, throwing my vcore down like that?
when everything is on AUTO everything should work perfectly. f*cking asus.
I have the same sleep issue regardless if it's stock speed or 4.2.
What is going on here.. the Gigabyte EX58 thread is 65 pages long.. I thought the P6T was the most popular X58 board?
it is. its just that more people are having probs and issues with the EX58 whilst us p6t users are too busy having fun OCing this badboy
Hahaha, well I don't have anything else to complain about
Totally fixed the vcore problem.. it was actually a software running on background that was making my pc crash or freeze.
The only issue I have with this board is the S3 sleep mode and I assume that will be dealt with via BIOS update. Great board otherwise, easy overclock and fast as hellfire.
I think that all boards have a problem with the S3 sleep
Is this motherboard good with this memory: OCZ Platinum Tri Channel 6GB PC12800 DDR3 Memory - 1600MHz, 6144MB (3 x 2048)
Memory Size: 3 x 2048MB
Memory Type: Triple Channel DDR3
Memory Speed: 1600Mhz PC12800
Memory CAS Latency: 7-7-7-24
Pins: 240
Thanks guys.
Question(s):
My board came with BIOS version 1003 installed. I know, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it', but is there a re reason to go to 1102?
I downloaded the 1102 bios and extracted it from the zip file. Does it need to be renamed so that the Easy Flash 2 Utility recognizes it?
Thank you
V2 fixed nothing, it's just minus the SAS connectors so big deal.
PHUCK me, just installed 920 on P6T-D to day and straight to 3.9Ghz with 1.3vcore and 1.35 QPI 195 x 20 without issues and stable so far.
After 1 month of constant hassles with Gigabyte X58 Extreme, totally unstable and flakey regardless of settings I RMA'ed the pos. Never and I mean never have I had so many problems with a board, even just loading optimised defaults in the bios and hitting F10 would cause the board to fail to reboot. :shakes:
The P6T-D also requires lowe volts for the same clock as the Giga and the cpu runs cooler as well. I'll retry the Giga when it comes back from RMA but if it exhibits the same problems then it's being sold.
Hello guys i just setup my system that is in my signature with Asus P6T Deluxe and with fresh and clean install of Windows XP Pro SP3. I have installed all the requested drivers in their latest versions and my Windows is full updated.
When i am using my system some times i can see very fast stuttering in mouse cursor movement and some freezing in the applications that are running but it is only for a second or less but it is still very annoying.
Some times when the mouse stuttering happens i have to click more than one time in the application's window to take control like the whole system is friezed.
Does anyone has notice anything similar with his system?
That's always been my experience with Asus.. never had one run right.. but never had a Giga fail me.. I think sometimes you just get unlucky with a brand.. obviously both are great boards if the reviews and those here in the forums that own them are anything to go by
But it's a little early to say the V2 didn't fix anything.. the Newegg feedback for this board had to be shut down it got so bad.. something is up with some of the boards at least
Somebody get the template of the p6t deluxe bios?
why does the Express Gate show up in explorer as a drive even though, I thought, i disabled it in the Bios?
Does anyone use the EPU software included with the p6t deluxe?>
I'm thinking I may have a bad board. I'm running the P6T Deluxe non palm edition and have Bios 1102 installed. When I attempt to overclock my system to just a mild 3.0 Vista shows that I'm only running 4 gigs of memory when 6 gigs are installed. I see other people using 1600mhz speed memory and no mention of this problem. Is there a setting that I'm missing or something I'm doing wrong? Does someone have a OC template of the bios settings that I might compare mine too? Please advise if possible thanks.
Hi guys. Just got this board over the weekend. I'm running an i7-940. Has anyone been able to hit 4.2+ GHz with HT on?
I'm ~ 4GHZ( 211 x 19 ) w/HT on @ around 1.31 V(still tweaking)
Also, how do you turn turbo on? I'm using the 1102 bios. The gigabyte x58 extreme had it in the bios, but I can't find it here at all.
Does anyone have any stable 4.0GHz + settings they can share with me so I have a beginning point?
Thanks in advance.
i'm going to buy P6T deluxe in a few days, with Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 3x2gb 1.65v 8-8-8-24 C8, i7 920
I'm open for any suggestions
If there are any limitations i forgot or don't know
I'll be pleased to hear farewell speech :))))))))))) lol
Seriously, I'll be glad to get any help or suggestions till I place order.
P.S. I've already read all articles and threads ... . And I'm not experienced OCer.
Thanks in Advance !
I would get the G.Skill DDR3 1600... it has lower timings (8-8-8-21) and lower stock voltage (1.6v). And I can confirm it works perfectly on the P6T Deluxe.
Yahh, the Gskill are a nice set of ram.
With my P6T deluxe I was able to bench them on 2100Mhz @ 9-9-9-24 with just 1.8v dram voltage.
so, G.Skill...
but Dominator has such an awesome design... oks, whatever... best options = best RIG :)
anything else ?
what about BIOS ? ... there's rumor about that it loses settings, time , etc ...
what about CMOS battery, should I change it before assembling rig ?
what else ... hmmmmmm... how does eSata work with you ?
:) 10x
Same...
Love this memory.
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...ekT2008/i7.jpg
so i think i'll go with corsair
what about BIOS versions ? are they more stable compared with old versions
does cmos still lose its settings ?
should i change CMOS battery before building system ?
what ebout eSATA, there're several complains that it doesn't work at all or with only same models of eSata devices ...
What makes you wanna go with the Corsair ?
The above settings are mediocre, I can do them with my OCZ 1333Mhz Platinum.
Regarding the Asus P6T DLX, I never lost bios settings, the bat is absolutely fine.
Frankly, I haven't had any bios issues with the board, I like it a lot and it works great.
Template for bios here.
I have successfully booted and run windows @ 4.2Ghz at 1.35v, but this is not prime95 stable, so I backed it down to 4.0Ghz find a 24/7 solution.
IIRC, turbo is on, unless you turn it off. It's ahrd to miss the turbo setting: it's the 4th line in AI Tweaker [Intel Turbo Mode], right above the BLCK setting.
Here is my setup post. Running CPUv = 1.3125, QPIv = 1.225, DRAM = 1.6v. Everything else on Auto.
Let me know if you start tweaking with skew settings, as I want to get 4.1/4.2 at 1.35v if possible.
-td
I have the same problem regarding "missing" memory on my P6T Deluxe with 3 x 2GB G.Skill 1600MHz. 6GB installed only shows 4GB in Windows (Vista 64) and in the BIOS. CPU-Z shows 6GB. The board runs well otherwise. (Note - it showed 6B for the first few days)
I've seen at least half a dozen posts about the missing memory. Some people have RMA'd the board, or replaced memory and reported success. I dunno
I can't believe I missed it. lol, thank you.
I'm LinX stable at 211 x 19 @ 1.296V(bios) (1.288 - 1.296 in CPU-Z)
The crazy thing is that I've normally encountered Vdrop and Vdroop, but with this board it is crazy. I use 1.35 and CPU-Z is reading more than that sometimes. I have LLC on, maybe I should just turn it off.
I just installed all my new hardware and was wondering if I should update the bios to version 1102 (is it stable enough)?
With my previous board it was necessary to update ExpressGate first before updating bios, is this still the case? If so, where can I find the ExpressGate image cause I can't find it on their download webpage?
Thanks in advance for the answers!!!!
I asked the same question a few posts back. My original BIOS was 1003 and express gate version was 1.3.3.1
I updated to the latest bios first (1102) and then updated my express gate via the express gate updater software to version 1.3.13.2. Both can be found on Asus' home page.
No issues since updating either.
