Get well mate and don't be mad at me when I take down your FSB WR! :) Basically I just want to help you. The more WRs you lose the stronger your desire to get 200% again should become in order to strike back as soon as possible.
Just don't give up and you will be fine!
James, it was nice to meet you in Hong Kong. There are alot more important things in life than benching, records and new hardware. Good luck with everything, hopefully all goes fine.
Itīs a sad news bro. Take care, think positive and you will be back here with us and equally do what you love most. I donīt pray often, but i will pray for you every night. Get well soon..

XS is such a vast community, yet we can get so tight when the need arises :)
I read this thread thoroughly, and I agree with those who say that you need to stay strong and be really positive so that cancer is defeated ;) Now, I may not know you in person, but from all your achievements (WRs, events, hwbot), and moreover, from all your posts in this thread, it's damn' obvious that you are incredibly brave , and this my friend is the cure to your problem :)
Be strong, don't give up no matter what, hope you have a quick recover :)
Goodluck!
Be strong. Good luck... Make a comeback like that Armstrong guy... forgot the firstname, the cycling legend I think :)
Be strong... Don't loose hope..:D
All the best youngpro, hopefully its smooth sailing for you!
On the flipside when you come back there will be fresh records to beat and new hardware to play with :D
I saw a daffodil day wrist band at the counter of a store I went into today, and I immediately thought of youngpro.
So I bought a wristband in support of him, and those in his situation. I urge you all to do the same, and post a pic up of your purchase. Not knowing him personally, this is all I can do to show I mean what I say in support of him. Get well soon bro.

thanks again guys
You'll beat it, my friend. Judging by the world records you've taken in such a short amount of time, you have a strong sense of determination and grit, and those are two very useful attributes to have when battling cancer. My best wishes to you.
James will bounce back stonger, with higher clocks than ever and push harder than ever! Visiting soon mate, might sneek in a few goodies:)
Best wishes from all of us at OCAU too .

Sounds like you have the right attitude to beat this YP. Keep up the fight mate and all the best.
Im knew to the forums, but man this is sad :(
I wish you the best of luck...dude if lance armstrong can do it so can you :P
and like WrigleyVillain said keep your mind and spirit positive dont let nothing bring you down.
thanks again for your support all!
im doing very well and my spirits are very high after my first weeks of treatment, until at least 28 days I will not know how I am responding to treatment, i am feeling healthy and im currently in day 7 of my treatment,
on day 8 i recieve more chemotherapy, and then at about day 12-16 i will hit my lowest period, but so far its going well, my cell counts are getting really low so ive started having blood transfusions today and that will continue into the future, at the moment my old scary thing is some upcoming spinal injections that im not really looking forward to,
if all goes well for me i will be home in 3 weeks and be benching some e8600s =)
thanks for everyone that has supported me so much, this week i should get some new hardware into my hospital room, new dfi/asus boards, play with the new gigabyte board, some thermaltake gear and all thats left on the list is to organize some 4870x2s and get prepping them for when i get home!
will keep you all updated regularly on home im going =)
Our hearts are with you.
I had one of those spinal injections 37 years ago and back then they used the needles that you could sew with. Today is much better. Even back then, just a little discomfort, not painfull so don't worry about that part.
Eat what they tell you, drink what they tell you and you'll do well.
Just a thought:
I've been at Xs since November 2005 and never seen this place show so much emotion as I have seen directed to you.
You must be a very special guy from what I've seen.
Just remember not to over-exert yourself, or push your limits in this state; thinking positive is crucial for fighting an illness, but you have to realize your limits, as well. I'm looking forward to your return to overclocking as much as anyone here, but recovery is first and foremost what I'm hoping for.
James, personally i might not know you well, but You're always in my pray every night before i got to sleep :).... thats all that i can do to support you...
Sorry to hear about your condition. Just stay strong and have the will to be well and good again. I'm sure you'll get better with today's medicine, your willpower, faith and the prayers from all those who support you.
Get well and get more WR's.

Good to hear they're letting you bring in some new hardware to play with/occupy yourself. I know you'll be tearing up some WR's in a few weeks pro, and Im looking forward to it!!
James, I'm keen to stay abreast of developments in your recovery.
If you are comfortable please keep us updated with the details of your treatments and how you have responded to it.
:)
I'm sorry to hear this James :(, good luck on a speedy recovery
today is day 10 of my treatment, so i had my first lumber puncture, it involves injecting chemo into my spine to protect my central nervous system, also had to have some other samples taken and a few random needles, i thought i was over the worst of it today,
this evening my temperature has spiked so they are working hard now to determine the source of the injection and start to treat me asap..
all is going well, i feel healthy still but starting to go off my food a bit and be a bit more tired,
my spirit is still 100% and damn sure im going to kick this things ass, just another TINY roadblock
Sad things reading.... :(
Get better M8.....Life sucks some times.... :(
I'm so depressed right now by reading such things happening to one of us.... :(
good luck man, you sound to be doing a lot better than my great aunt
Really sorry to hear that man.
I wish you best luck!
i'm sure you will get well soon :yepp:
God Damn, youngpro is a very known person to uz extreme overclockers =/
Even I have seen his benchmarks... Whatever, Iīm here to take your place if you want
Thanks for the updates, it's good to know how you are progressing. I hope you start feeling better, lumbar punctures/intrathecal injections often leave you with headaches afterwards, but I know you will get through it, caffeine and laying down help ease them (as I'm sure you have been told).
Thinking of you, keep fighting mate
Fight like hell man! We have a close family friend who has been in remission with leukemia for about 20 years. Please update us all when you are able.
I like your attitude, youngpro. Just don't give up. Ever. That will get you through the roadblock as you defined it.
All the best
Kick that bug in the ass man...don't take no for an answer. May the Force be with you.
Greetings OC Peeps...
My name is Thane.. Im a good mate of James from Adelaide. Not much of an OC'r but work with him in IT.
The amount of support he is receiving from the OC community is astounding.
It's incredible to see how much love and support he has from you all, and others alike from other OC sites and forums around the place. Your prayers and good caring spirit can never be quantified and have no limit so keep them coming.
We all know James will be back and benching WR's and kickin subzero a*se again in no time, and to help speed this up i'd like to take this opportunity to inform you of how and what im doing to help.
Myself, along with James' family and gf Sarah have formed a team to walk as part of a fundraiser to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation. The organisation helps those like Pro by providing a range of support services to help sufferers get back on their feet, and make their lives a little easier when they need it most. Money raised also goes to researching a cure.
The day after James' diagnosis a news bulletin was released in relation to the fight against Leukaemia. Scientists from Melbourne and Adelaide have discovered a protein on the outside of the immature white blood cells that sends a message prompting the body to create more white blood cells at an infant stage, this is Leukaemia. The discovery of this protein means that science can fight the Leukaemia by stopping the protein from sending the message. This is a huge breakthrough. Scientists believe they will have a drug that will do this with in 5 years. This isnt a cure, but it stops Leukaemia, putting us one step closer to the cure.
Funds raised for the foundation will go towards creating this drug. So i'm doing whatever the fk I can to help get James back.
If you would like to make a donation or read more about the fantastic things the Leukaemia Foundation will do to help James and those alike, please visit Light the Night.
If you would like to join our team (search for team name 'Race Him') or make a donation, no matter how large or small, I encourage you to visit this link: Here it is :) and put a few coins forward for your Extreme Legend.
Your support is massively appreciated.
For a top guy who never asks for anything but offers so much to many, i'd like to say this and i'm sure im not alone:
You're a fkn champ James. You answer all my dumb IT questions at work and home, you help me understand things that just dont seem to make sense, and best of all we have some good laughs together. Get back on your feet mate and we'll be making cardboard cricket gear and smashing 6's in the office again when no-ones around in no time.. Whatever it takes mate. You'll beat this. Never back down, never quit.
Cheers
Thane
I would also like to thank you all for your comments and prayers - I worked with James and Thane and spent many evenings benching with James till crazy hours into the night. Thane and I have been keeping each other as up to date as possible with news and support during these difficult times. It has been very encouraging to see so many people all across the world post their kind comments for James to read.
James is a very strong guy and his determination and will power will push him over this hurdle. We all know that he will be stronger for this set back and he will look back and smile with confidence that he beat this disease - I am confident that he will prove to be an example to so many people who face the same challenge. James has already shown so much strength and bravery since he was diagnosed with Leukaemia and although the race is not yet won, he will continue to press on and we are all right behind him.
Our prayers and thoughts are with him every night - the road may well be rough and narrow but it won't be long before the way ahead will be just like the old times, you will be back home and benching again and I'll be spilling that LN2 all over your feet again! Your friends and family are right behind you James and we wish you all the best that you may continue with the strength and positive attitude that you show - you are an example to us all mate.
"Inspiration comes from others. Motivation comes from within."
get well soon met ^_^ fight it !!!
GOodbless and take care ur self!:)
Keep your head up!
My sister won a year long fight with cancer and has been in remission for two years and counting now, she said half of the fight is in the medicine, and the other half is in your head. They gave her about a 50/50 as well. Never give up the fight!
may the force be with him.

Get well soon, wish you a full recovery back.

Is there some good news about pro ? :)
Well, I'd certainly like to hear him share any news first hand with everyone :)
Last i heard he is in remission and is allowed to go home 3-4 days a week, which im sure makes things a lot more comfortable for him!
I read something on his MSN profile about him returning full swing to benching. :p:
he's been a bit crook
he'll bounce back...just take time with this sort of treatment
Think positive friend  I hope you are feeling better.;)
I will pray for him all I can, also I will do a chain... But, for sure, he's going to be better than ever after a good recovery, and that's for sure.
Get well soon youngpro! You are my inspiration for OC ^^
Great to hear some positive news! Will be great to see some benches from pro soon!
Get your strength back YoungPro the bench will always be there for you when you are ready.
WZ
I'm not exactly active here, and I haven't crunched in forever, but this right here has given me motivation to crunch on every machine I can get my hands on.
I've got your back man. You can take this. My grandma took on cancer twice and she's still will us today. No worries
