Please update soon as possible. IŽve got the board yesterday, but if bios still sucks iŽll send it back
Mine is going back on monday, I'm not gonna waste my time waiting another 1-2-3 weeks before they have fixed the problems.
I think my OCZ Powerstream 520w is about to die, it's making wierd noises although the pc is in rest state
More updates either when i discover wtf is wrong with my psu or when i succeed overclocking to 500mhz fsb or above
........Please don't die on me, my trusty PSU :(
any news when the JRs will be out?
hows cf perf on this board?
Here is a roadmap:

I don't know anyone who testet it, but here is a comparison of X48 vs. P45:
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/14...nce/index.html
Spoke to DFI last night about the DK P45 and they have a new BIOS on the way for existing owners that fixes the FSB limitations, but they have also done some tweaks to the design.
That's all the details I have at the moment :)
anyone played with a qx on this board ?
I really feel for DFI engineers under pressure to keep up with the insane release cycles of chipsets. It's like one after the other bam bam bam, p35, x38, x48, p45... Yikes!
The PR/Sales department must be pounding the table to get the new chipsets released while the end users are dying for support. It's really hard on the engineers stuck in the middle.
I agree with you on that. Sometimes DFI is the last to make it to the field with a new chipset release and I THOUGHT it was because their engineers were working out the kinks. After using the X38-T3R, I no longer believe that because it's the worst board I've owned in a long long time. Hopefully this P45 is better.
Still sitting and waiting for the P45 DK bios that will unleash OC on this board ;)
Quick update.
The new BIOS is coming today and it should apparently put the performance on a par with Asus and Gigabyte.
That's all I know :)
woot! thats great news!
Here you go :)
Does anyone know if true-120 pointed towards rear exhaust fan will fit on this board? or will it contact nb hsf? please post any new results with new beta bios ;)
ey JR P45-T3RS is on MotherboardPro
http://www.motherboardpro.com/images...r.-P45-T3R.jpg
So far stable....letting it run for a few hours. Still dissappointing, volts to hit FSB. 1,4V ist prett high i'd say for a 45nm chipset.

Musta naman kababayan ;)
That looks more like it  Voltages look good too :)
Had to bump the NB Volts up a bit:
http://www.abload.de/thumb/fsb500fa3.jpg
and yes, i have a fine chip;)
hmm, this board looks good now. I have a Asus Maximus Formula 2 , and it has issues. I am thinking also about the GAp45- extreme
choices choices
Its very sorry to say, but i wouldn't recommend this mobo in this state. poor enough, trying to get FSB 500 Stable 1,35~1,4V are mandatory to bust on the P45 :( Other Mobos needn't even use 1,25V to hit 500MHz and beyond. The Bios is poorly regarding ram settings, im used to have much more options, dfi ist probably still on the job of making a good Bios.
I looking to have CF, any X48 Bords that hit 500MHz+ "easy" ?
I noticed DFI isn't what it used to be ... They are still my favorite boards but i'll skip p45 and eventually upgrade to P35 LT. If they screw up at this chapter then there is no reason for my to get dfi boards. They are always late on the market but that didn't bothered me, they have poor bundle but that doesn't matter and they used to have a great bios until now :shakes: Wake up DFI. I still hope they release a good bios for this boards. Aldo, they are more expensive than P35LT and i don't see any reason to buy this one...
Can i ask, did the dated 09/07/2008 bios solved the o.c problems for this board and this board good to grab now?
any quad core results?
Any E7200 results? haha, getting that cpu with this board, but need some confirmation is this board now good compared to his smaller brother p35, lol!
yeah i really want this board. But need quad oc results
WTF??? :shakes: This was on Gigabyte boards. I don't like this.
I don't like this too, because i've sold my board... ;)
No chance for me to test ist.... :(
And im fighting to like it...but its pretty strange pressing F9 after Cmos Clear ;)
540 fsb orthos stable here on e8500
bios d709
Good news for the F9 memory settings :)
So you think i should get this board, or get which board? Still thinking suggest it to me, haha!
I read that review, what the hell is going on with the P45? I thought that 2x PCIe8x 2.0 had the same bandwidth as 2xPCIe16x and that would be enough for modern days videocards even for the likes of the HD48xx series.
I was really surprised to see that large gap in performance which occurs at higher resolutions and AA/ AF.
Didn't expect that the verdict was to buy X38/X48 over P45...
But... this review claims the opposite of the Tweaktown review:
http://legionhardware.com/document.php?id=761
Legion Hardware claims that P45 is faster than X38 and little behind X48 concerning CF performance.
Are both there reviews bollocks? Did they both messed up testing. I would like think that X38 and X48 perform the same, they both run 2x PCIe16x with CF, so how can there be a 10% performance gap?. And how come that with the Legion review the P45 chipset scores rather high and with the Tweaktown review it performs badly?
Conclusion Tweaktown:
This is really a very interesting article and is something people need to be taking note of. The first thing you need to be checking is if you're reading a review where Crossfire is being tested. Make sure that the board there using is a x16 / x16 motherboard. The results really do speak for themselves and it’s clear that there is a performance difference between a x16 / x16 configuration which the X48 offers, and the x8/x8 one on the P45.
If you’re really thinking about going down the Crossfire path, we would be highly recommending that you spend the extra money to go to an X38 or X48 based motherboard over the P45. Of course, if you’re not then it doesn’t really matter. With one card the P45 runs at x16, which is exactly what you want.
Conclusion Legion:
Now when testing with the new hit title Devil May Cry 4 we found that a typical P45 setup is going to be 36% faster than a P35 system at 1920x1200 when running Crossfire Radeon HD 4850 graphics cards for example. The X48 was also roughly 6% faster than the P45 chipset, and I would suggest that this is a best case scenario for the high-end X48 chipset. That said, this did make the X48 around 15% faster than the older X38 chipset. ( you must be joking right? never heard of finetuning c'mon.... )
For the most part the X48 is just 5% faster than the cheaper P45 chipset, while this chipset held roughly the same margin over the older X38 chipset. Therefore as we see it, X38 owners really would need to purchase an X48 motherboard to see any real performance gains, while the P45 is a massive step up from the P35 chipset when talking Crossfire performance.
What happened to clear and trustworthy reviews these days?
Not the best games to test but:

so whats the verdict with this board and duallies? i bought one and it came yesterday but after reading this thread i didnt even open the cardboard box it was shipped in. should i sell it/send it back or is the fsb wall fixed?
I am following this thread, because I had high hopes fir DFI P45 after their P35,
I have found that there should be a Lanparty DK P45 PLUS version, which is a bit more expensive. Any more info on that? What could the differences be? ( a F9 unlocked BIOS :D )
More SATA-Ports (2) than the normal version and the normal version is ending with the Plus-Version. In a few days (weeks) you could only bus the PLUS-Version.
any changes OC-wise? (hopefully)
I don't know, but i hope so :)
Would you guys recommend this over the ASUS P5E-VM G35 or G33?
Looking for a nice mATX that I can put a E7200 or E7300 if its out soon. No crossfire needed.
subscribed... looking forward to new bios...
keeping an eye on this board.
even with the new beta bios no one can hit over 450???
DFI Beta Bios
it says it has increased performace for cpu oc
and enhanced oc function... lol not very descriptive but it sounds like they are working on it =)
My finger is hovering over the BUY ME NOW button for the DFI LanParty DK-P45-T2RS Plus Motherboard
The price is VERY good too @ $159AU
cant find it for $159 AU? Where ?
One of my favorite retailers........PCCase Gear
i can get over 450 fsb, but sometimes have cold boot problems, ie i have to start it 2 or 3 times before it will post. it powers up, and sometimes beeps, but no post or vid. this is at any speed, inc default. using 7/09 bios.
what is the difference between the normal and the plus?
Just two more SATA ports by the look of it
I hope the bios is the same for the PLUS board as none are listed as yet
Also which ITE Smart Guardian are ppl using for this board ???
Got the plus version!
492Mhz FSB Totally stable, with:
E8200
G.Skill PC8500 4GBPI
PC Power&Cooling Silencer 610W
I managed to boot to windows on 500MHZ as well, but when i tried to run prime, it crashed.
Hopefully, Future bios versions will allow 520 or more....
this news FSB 640 from Oscar.............

Picture too small to see anything
Ohhhhh yeah, 520mhz stable!
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=394129
Still disappointing. :( There are boards that do a lot more... What's the max spi1m fsb until now?
It's better than my DK P35 but not good enough when compared to other p45 boards like biostar for example. They really need to do something or they'll loose a lot of clients. O.C is their best quality and if they loose that i don't think it will be good for them. :shakes:
I don't understand you people
That Biostar is not a mainstream board like this, "you have to compare apple with apple"
Other mainstream P45 boards like Asus P5Qpro or Gigabyte EP45-DS3R which are in the same price category usually barely scratch 500mhz.
500 for this DFI is not unusual at all, and most of the people manage to squeeze out even more
Whats not mainstream about that biostar board it only costs 150 euro.
Pika007 you are right this is a mainstream board but it's more expensive than DFI LP LT P35 witch is better IMO (8 phase digital pwm, ~600FSB...). And there is DKP35 on witch FSB500-520 is no problem with stock voltages. I'm mad becouse it took them too much time to release a bios capable of 500+ FSB and i was expecting more from a DFI board.
I've read in another topic that they are close to release a new bios for DKP45 and it will do 640FSB. That's great for a mainboard in this price range and it will be a winner.
Can you please tell me how much the DFI costs where you live? over here it costs around 125 euro, and the biostar more than 150.... around 170 or so, which isn't exactly mainstream anymore.
DFI LanParty DK P45-T2RS costs 212$ (135E) , P35LT costs 209$ but now there are for sale at arround 150-175$.
You can find Biostar TP45 HP at 167$ but no I45.
dfi p45 costs $150 in aus...
We are not that lucky in EU especially in Romania where all the new hardware is much more expensive than it should.
If this board will be capable of 640FSB as i've heard it will surely be a winner in it's price range. And i really hope DFI will release great boards in the future (like they did until now) and maybe faster...
Hmm, where are the LT and UT P45? i haven't seen anything about them.
...sold mine!
now im waitung to see some FSB on the Plus. first Version was very dissapointing from my point of view. the only positive thing was FSB 500 on a Q6600 overclockingwise.
well...640 FSB is good..........good oskar !
:)
and here are the results as promised mate!
and for a budget board too.
I have been working hard in liasing with DFI to get you a bios worthy of the DFI name!
so here is the bios

Very nice mate.
I don't realy like the F9 thing. That was something practiced by Gigabyte.
I'll update the bios soon, expect updates tonight (GMT+2)
Let's see if it can manage 550
the latest bios now is dated 10/07 rite?
oh, the beta 1 rite?
so anyone got some more results on this ?
here's the new result :
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...26#post3185626
nice!
Well I am a bit confused with all this about not overclocking well.
Seeing as im building a new systems soon (First intel build) im getting something in the area of a E8500 and a HD4850, i wanted a alright overclocking board, i dont need that much becuase 3.0Ghz is already a bit much :) But this is going to be my first DFI board.
Is it any good?
Has the problem been fixed? So rather then using the bios in the cd that comes with it, i just download the new one instead?
I have been getting mixed reviews, is it worth getting the mobo and going with P45? seeing as it costs $150. woo
Thanks you in advanced :)
What voltages are you guys running at?

Memory is no longer reaching the FSB625 is difficult ...
Okay, 8 pages on this motherboard thread. I'm not going to read through out the whole thread.
Questions:
What motherboard are we talking about here? Are we talking about LANPARTY DK P45-T2RS?
If so, have the new BIOS been released to fix the OC problem? If so, how well did the Q9450 overclock on this board?
Any "complaints" on the RAM? I mean, I like using DDR2-1066 RAM, have there been any problems using that speed RAM? Using 4GB of RAM is fine?
I'd appreciate the response asap. :)
ok man, you wait here. i will go and read the whole thread, and then come back and report to you. you will be here, right?
